I have finally figured out what programme the sidekick in Torchwood (had to use turn-on-spray to get the girl and boy in first episode) was in.

He was absolute brilliant and was my favourite character in it.

'Bleak House' - Guppy.

Have to use matchsticks to stay up till 10.00 p.m. Jack is not as charasmatic as Christopher but hey ho ....its early days.

Jack's back in the last three episodes of season 3.....then back in time for torchwood series 2..........all this and the sarah jane adventures today! fanboy heaven!!!!!

Ash, when is TW series 2 coming then? Wasn't sure if this series was it!! I fancy Jack too - least I did until the finale episodes!

Did anyone think it was a bit heavy on the religious symbolism? Capt Jack gives his life to save humanity, but days later he rises from the dead and walks among his disciples for a few days. Then a mysterious higher power turns up and Jack ascends to a higher plane. Starring Capt Jack as Jesus, Gwyn as Mary Magdalen, Owen as Judas, The Doctor as God and that mysterious power in the Tardis as the Holy Ghost.

have been studiously ignoring this thread till I had time to watch it (had recorded it!). Thought it was fab. Must admit, I attempt to suspend the part of me that tries to analyse a plot too deeply while watching Torchwood - tis a vicarious thrill for me. Having said that, not sure the real Captain Jack would have danced with our Jack but maybe that bit was suspended in time iyswim.

I sort of agree on the dancing together bit - chances are it wouldnt have happened out in public like that.

But there are several books on the subject of homosexuality in WW1, like Pat Barkers Regeneration Trilogy and Mary Austins The Charioteer - all very poignant books.

I should think given the circumstances a lot of the men had feelings for eachother, but in those days some would have found it hard to express. I thought they touched on that quite well with the "real" Jack.

ANYWAY - why have we got to wait so long for some more TW or Dr Who?

Did wonder how public it was as the rift opened at the same time?

Just watching for the third time and at the start of end of days Owen comments on the power playing up on the 'hand machine' was the rift affecting it or was it calling the dr?

I assumed that it was the hand that was cut off Dr Who in the last Christmas special - so it was just recognising him. Am I taking this too seriously?
