I can't decide! MG for me veered between really good and really annoying. Loved her clothes tho. Is she in a relationship with the nanny?

She also was wearing a big baggy top whilst Attica looked slimmer and was wearing more fitted clothes.

I've just tried to watch it again on iplayer but for some weird reason I'm getting a running commentary on it! Irritating but I suppose it might actually help me understand WTF is happening.

I hadn't noticed that, Gypsy, but YES! Excellent point.

Villa, I can't help wit hteh chronology thing. It never even occurred to me to question it, actually [bit dim].

Presumably the shagging the bodyguard was at least one night later, though. I also thought the panic/safe room night scene could have been any night, IYSWIM, and was just meant to illustrate that she sleeps in there every night –but maybe she doesn't, and it was in response to the kidnap.

I thought the panic room was set up like a cell. So maybe reflects where she was kept in Palestine?

Yes I thought it was cell-like too.

We got the annoying running commentary on iplayer on the TV as well, although my husband tried the computer iplayer and said it was OK just the TV. I thought it had become strangely satirical at first as the commentary woman sounded like Davina McCall doing Big Brother voiceovers.

It was a safe room, I think. Maybe they can't have any soft furnishings so that enemies have nowhere to conceal recording devices or explosives if they managed to get in?

As if she'd have gone to answer the phone like that near the end!

I agree, if she was used to giving dinner speeches she'd have been used to putting her phone on to silent or giving it to a froend/ colleague if she wanted to be available for a kidnapper, not just left it turned on in a bag as it could have been ringing all evening with various calls.

It was the special phone she's been given wasn't it?

I got confused with the FBI woman. So who rang her and warned her- the nurse Jackie actress? Who is she working for? Who was the taxi driver working for?

Why was old lung cancer guy important anyway?

That's it. I remember now. My start if it was a bit hindered by kids iirc

I think the woman on the phone sounded like Monica that dark haired one who claims to have a special link with the US and the Middle East. She was in Israel/ Gaza 8 yrs ago and has a bit of a thing with Ephra too. Quite why she bumped off Tracey I don't know.

I think the dead man is Kasim's father.

I think I would like Eve Best to be my pal
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eve_Best

I also note that this weeks episode passed the Bechdel test and therefore the cast of the Honourable Woman should have a Webchat on here

So if Monica is also M16 then why did she want Tracey killed when Stephen
, who is also M16, want her kept alive?

There is more to Rachel than a grumpy pregnant woman.

Report
clangermum · 13/07/2014 15:51

So the unfaithful husband (episode title) was Ephra, not the suicide guy
(probably murdered)

And another unfaithful husband was Stephen Rea I suppose

Anyone know how to get rid of annoying commentary on I player?

I think I'd be grumpy if I was Rachel, wonder how much idea she had of what she was marrying into

Looking forward to tonight's episode and the inevitable rewatch again tomorrow to clarify just wtf has gone on.

I have a lot more sympathy for Rachel since DH pointed out that she's Jen from the IT Crowd (sorry if it's already been mentioned upthread), but that's an amazing switch of character!
