I can't decide! MG for me veered between really good and really annoying. Loved her clothes tho. Is she in a relationship with the nanny?

Stephen Rea fans should take a peek at V for Vendetta where he plays almost the same character...

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 21/08/2014 22:09

Wow, what a brilliant last episode.

Loved it!

OneStepCloser · 21/08/2014 22:09

I. Was. Wrong.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/08/2014 22:15

WELL.

I'm sorry it's over.

forago · 21/08/2014 22:15

please elaborate one step?

great episode but I'm a bit confused. so the English killed Monica? or the Americans? but it was all for nothing because the Russians and Chinese blocked it?

and she went back to Gaza again?!

Papyrus02 · 21/08/2014 22:16

Did Monica deserve that? She was just following orders from the US. My guess is that is was the Americans who killed her .... Though of course Julia would be happy with the outcome.

Just loved Julia's line about pussies.

Loved this whole series. Loved Atika in the end. Hugh was pretty honourable. Just the wrong sex.

forago upthread I called Hugh as The Honarable Woman, and I got it wrong, it was Nessa and Atika.

OneStepCloser · 21/08/2014 22:37

Isitmy I thought the last scene was philosophical as in Nessa was in a permanent prison sort of thing?

I don't know, British or Americans killed Monica, it was left open wasn't it.

Love Schlomo Grin

forago · 21/08/2014 22:41

according to the guardian blog the Americans killed monica

ChocFudgeCake · 21/08/2014 22:41

Please help! I didn't watch to ignt's episode live and now I'm trying to watch it in the IPlayer but it stops as if it had finished at minute 12 :( Any clues??

Apollinare · 21/08/2014 22:42

Trying not to look at the previous posts :(

Am attempting to watch on the iplayer but only its only showing 12 minutes - including the endless intro.. am I doing something very idiotic, have tried two computers but the same .. HELP HELP , NOT waving!

SquidgyMummy · 21/08/2014 22:47

Wow! I was just riveted.

Agree that in the last scene, it is really inside Nessa's head; she will always live in a cell (hence sleeping in the panic room.) as she feels "she deserves it" (meaning every bad thing that happened to her.

Atika was brilliant - so tough - safety pinning her stab wound together and being such a crack shot.

Would agree that the Americans killed Monica; Julia asked them to "tidy up".
She deserved it; she was after Julia's job and threatened Hugh that she would do in his (ex) wife.

SquidgyMummy · 21/08/2014 22:49

ChocFudgeCake Apollinare
from your identical posts, I would say the problem is with Iplayer.

(Cannot check however as am in France).

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 21/08/2014 22:52

Yeah, the Americans took out Monica, ruthless!

ChocFudgeCake · 21/08/2014 22:56

Thanks Squidgy. I tried the bbc player online (not the app) too. Same thing :(
Apolollinare, please let me know if you manage!

Apollinare · 21/08/2014 23:09

Well the full version seems to be now but its the audio inscribed version which apparently cant be turned off. Think we'll have to wait for a while until the BBC techie finishes a long tea break... fingers drumming

Apollinare · 21/08/2014 23:10

that probably should be described, not inscribed!

SquidgyMummy · 21/08/2014 23:10

The BBC had better have some brilliant series on in the autumn as I am now suffering withdrawal symptoms.

I would really like to see a director's cut DVD, as according to the scripts on the BBC website, scenes have been cut.

My niggling questions are:

So the secret was just that Kassim is Nessa's son...
There was a typo on Judith Stein's grave (she died in 1976 not 1979)

oldbag just look at israel/palestina right now.
it's a screwed world.

that was good to watch. apparently the fall will start soon, which should be good based on watching the first series.

forago · 22/08/2014 01:20

old bag a lot of supposed suicides look suspiciously like something like this went on - Dr David Kelly in the Iraq weapons of mass destruction hoo has springs to mind. The MI5 guy locked in a bag but supposedly did it to himself ........

GypsyFloss · 22/08/2014 07:57

I thought it was an excellent series. I was a little tired of Nessa by the end but stupidly pleased when she declared that Kassim was her son.

Loved HHH and thought Atika was a very strong character and portrayed very clearly .

So does Nessa's " everything is my fault" thing stem from her mother dying in childbirth?
And did the Americans really take Monica's door off, strangle her and then rehang the door with her attached?
What was the point of Mrs ex- HHH?
And lastly, I thought Nessa was British , so why was the American Sec of State announcing her death and then later how their policy would change becuase of it? I know that this outcome was the point of all of the shenanigans but I don't understand why they would do that if Nessa was not an American citizen?

mausmaus loved The Fall, looking forward to the next series.
