I can't decide! MG for me veered between really good and really annoying. Loved her clothes tho. Is she in a relationship with the nanny?

No bloody wonder it didn't make sense. I watched disc 2 first, then disc 1.

Well I've watched all of to today and understood none of it.

It was just so bloody confusing.

Loved this and finally caught up with the last episode. Just stretched credibility that Kasim would be so quiet and obedient whilst being transported by Atika/Nessa.

I can't imagine DS sitting quietly ever whilst his "mum" is shot, and someone else claims him!

I think Atika and Nessa were both the honourable woman.

Yes, Monica was killed and then the door hung back up so it would look like a suicide. The Americans killed her to cover up that she'd been working for them to discredit Israel.

The last shot of Nessa meant, to me, that she would spend her whole life metaphorically imprisoned. And I agree that I think a lot of her guilt stemmed from her mother dying in childbirth, and also from her being the child of a Zionist arms dealer.

The only point of Hugh's wife as far as I could tell was to show us a bit of his personal life. The human face of the secret service. I was a bit disappointed that she didn't turn out to have more significance.

I think the Americans were so invested in Nessa and her business because she was the one working to bridge the Israel–Palestine gap; if there had been an Amercian businessperson doing what Nessa did presumably they'd have invested in them, but Nessa was what they had.

One niggle: I still don't know who Nessa was talking to and what she meant when she was on the phone way back and said 'They know.' Who knows? And what? It can't be 'The kidnappers know Kassim is my son' because of course the kidnappers knew that.

Just watched last 3 episodes back to back today as been on holiday - loved this series!

For me, Nessa was without a doubt the honourable woman both literally with her Baroness title but also with her actions throughout her life by genuinely trying to bring peace to the region & make up for the actions of her family.

Thanks for this thread - it's really helped me to enjoy the series Smile

So Atika was the honourable woman in the end.

yep, Thu night is going to be very .. ordinary! But at least Homeland is back in October with unlimited potential for wild speculation. (Am not sure Brodie wont turn up)

I think my favorite charactor was Attika, no its Hugh though that Monica was a tough old bird.

I think Nessa sent Bloom to his death Apollinares he was too close to letting her secret out (Kassim?)

No, Id be no good as a spy either I guessed it all wrong and made wild accusations throughout Grin although Im pleased that I knew Schlomo was a good guy right from the start. However, a spys life doesnt seem like it would be a long life so I think I`ll pass on it anyway.

Was a really fabulous series though and I shall miss that on a Thursday eve.

well that was pretty good! though I'm clearly not going to make a superspy.

However, have told DH that if we have irretrievable differences, the flat in Oxford would work for me.(shallow).
have just read back and am missing something - why did Nessa kill Bloom? I thought it was the burning-man?

am going for V for vendetta now.

I know MrsCampbellBlack . I was wincing and thinking she's as hard as fuck at the same time.

Surely Monica would have been murdered in a more subtle way, or was it supposed to look like suicide?

I loved this series. And safety pinning her wound - wow, just wow.

I thought it was an excellent series. I was a little tired of Nessa by the end but stupidly pleased when she declared that Kassim was her son.

Loved HHH and thought Atika was a very strong character and portrayed very clearly .

So does Nessa's " everything is my fault" thing stem from her mother dying in childbirth?
And did the Americans really take Monica's door off, strangle her and then rehang the door with her attached?
What was the point of Mrs ex- HHH?
And lastly, I thought Nessa was British , so why was the American Sec of State announcing her death and then later how their policy would change becuase of it? I know that this outcome was the point of all of the shenanigans but I don't understand why they would do that if Nessa was not an American citizen?

mausmaus loved The Fall, looking forward to the next series.

old bag a lot of supposed suicides look suspiciously like something like this went on - Dr David Kelly in the Iraq weapons of mass destruction hoo has springs to mind. The MI5 guy locked in a bag but supposedly did it to himself ........

The BBC had better have some brilliant series on in the autumn as I am now suffering withdrawal symptoms.

I would really like to see a director's cut DVD, as according to the scripts on the BBC website, scenes have been cut.

My niggling questions are:

So the secret was just that Kassim is Nessa's son...
There was a typo on Judith Stein's grave (she died in 1976 not 1979)

Report
Apollinare · 21/08/2014 23:10

that probably should be described, not inscribed!

Report
Apollinare · 21/08/2014 23:09

Well the full version seems to be now but its the audio inscribed version which apparently cant be turned off. Think we'll have to wait for a while until the BBC techie finishes a long tea break... fingers drumming
