I can't decide! MG for me veered between really good and really annoying. Loved her clothes tho. Is she in a relationship with the nanny?

OnlyLovers - i think it all took place over one day - she became a Baroness in the morning and had her announcement at lunchtime.

Wonder how her brother fits into it all (affair with american spy). i think he will turn out to be quite shady

OnlyLovers · 08/07/2014 12:50

Thanks Squidgy. I wasn't convinced that someone as glossy as her would wear the same frock two days in a row. Grin

I too wonder about her brother. He's quiet and inoffensive, and they usually turn out to be the bad guys.

The nanny knows things too; I just don't quite know what yet.

BooToYouToo · 08/07/2014 15:41

Just caught up. Loved it.

I agree that she looked pregnant 9 yrs ago so probably with Kassim. Also his name sounds Arabic rather than Jewish so not her brother's son but the nanny looks after both sets of children.

OnlyLovers · 08/07/2014 16:12

So does the brother's wife know whose child it is? (quite possibly a stupid question but forgive me; I'm quite hard of thinking when it comes to TV plots and set-ups Grin)

thecuntureshow · 08/07/2014 16:44

I think everyone knows who the boy is. I didn't notice her looking pregnant, but maggie seems to have more of an interest with the boy. And the brother made a comment at one point saying 'I'm quite capable of looking after my own children' and looked at his two girls.

JaneParker · 08/07/2014 19:58

I thought it was the nanny's child from a rape in Palestine but we shall wait to see...

onedev · 08/07/2014 22:16

I thought the boy was the nanny's child too - not seen anything that indicates otherwise as far as I can see. In the restaurant the mum also asked the nanny to get some plain food for the girls - that to me indicated they were her children & the boy the nanny's as surely if he'd been her nephew, they'd have appeared to look after him more (meaning the brother & his wife).

No doubt a lot more twists & turns to come but I reckon he's not MGs.

I thought her sleeping arrangements were very scary - can't imagine living under such a threat that you'd need to sleep in a safe room Shock

LauraPashley · 09/07/2014 19:29

Yy to there having been a sexual assault of some kind, I thought sexual violence was looming in that scene where she was pulled out of the car, which tbh I was a bit disappointed with, hate watching stuff like that plus it seems a bit of a predictable/lazy script idea

Is anyone watching this tonight? I've decided to give it a go although to be honest I'm not sure exactly what is going on! Was hoping there would be an active thread so I could get answers to my questions!

PseudoBadger · 10/07/2014 21:43

I'm watching, but have just had to pause it as dd woke up.

northender · 10/07/2014 22:04

I watched tonight not having watched the 1st ep. Not entirely sure what went on

PseudoBadger · 10/07/2014 22:14

I like it. I'm a sucker for a spy thriller. So did the taxi driver shoot the Fed?

MargotThreadbetter · 10/07/2014 22:20

Yes, and then he got shot by the woman on the phone.
I'm loving it, but it's getting complicated! Confused
Bet the boy is MGs, the sister in law doesn't know, but her comment about MG not having a child was just too leading...

BOFster · 10/07/2014 22:20

Right, what's going on? Is Kassim Nessa's son? From a violent rape during a kidnapping?

WalkingThePlank · 10/07/2014 22:21

Samir Meshal's company was called Qassim Communications- presumably a link to the boy.

PseudoBadger · 10/07/2014 22:24

I said he was hers last week
Can anyone explain why the security guy killed himself with the air bubble? How random. Dd was awake so I missed it.

BOFster · 10/07/2014 22:27

Yes, I clocked that, PseudoBadger Grin.

I think the suicide was him following orders from the Palestinian kidnapping group, so he couldn't give anything away to the British police/Security Services.

MamOfTwo · 10/07/2014 22:32

Did the taxi driver work for anybody or was he just a guy with a gun?

WalkingThePlank · 10/07/2014 22:35

So,if Kasim was Nessa and Samir's son, he would be Jewish via the female line and Muslim via the male line. Who better to inherit Stein Group.

MargotThreadbetter · 10/07/2014 22:35

No, the taxi driver was in on it.

BOFster · 10/07/2014 22:36

The taxi driver worked for the people who killed Tracy. They double-crossed him and bumped him off too.

WalkingThePlank · 10/07/2014 22:37

Think the taxi driver was working for the people who shot the FBI lady but knew too much so was also shot.

DH thought the voice on the phone was the dark haired lady who was having the contretemps with Janet McTeer.

PseudoBadger · 10/07/2014 22:43

I thought the phone voice was the dark haired woman who 'knows' Nessa's brother.

joanofarchitrave · 10/07/2014 22:48

Went way over my head. I enjoyed looking at Andrew Buchan but not enough to watch the rest.

MamOfTwo · 10/07/2014 22:52

Ah, I see re: taxi dude. There is a good recap/blog on the Guardian site for tonight's episode. Not sure how to link.
