Lots of window cleaning. £1.2m!!! Its an advert for local burglars.

Allfurcoatandnoknickers · 16/10/2013 21:58

Yay

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/10/2013 21:59

This looks better!

mousmous · 16/10/2013 21:59

next weeks looks much more interesting.
see you all then!

NorthAnneEyhtMeyerAbbey · 16/10/2013 22:00

Big over-priced glass extension - tick!
Timber clad - tick!
Polished concrete - tick!
No window coverings - tick!
Flat roof - tick!
Piss off the builders - tick!
Impractical design - tick!

The only thing they missed was getting pregnant half way through the build.

TaraKnowles · 16/10/2013 22:00

Next week looks a lot better.

wetaugust · 16/10/2013 22:02

Yes - It looked like semi-nude shots. How on earth could you let a film crwe into your house with those on display?

Yay - next week is back to the GD roots by the look of it with the grand designer getting down and dirty instead of writing fat cheques and swanning around moaning about 3 pin sockets.

moogy1a · 17/10/2013 15:27

is no one watching build a house for £100k on bbc 2? I'm finding it miles better.
Last night's was hilarious. 4 years to make a wonky gazebo.

wetaugust · 17/10/2013 15:33

Yes - we discussed it on Property forum last night.

moogy1a · 17/10/2013 17:18

ooh, I've never noticed the property forum.

mousmous · 17/10/2013 19:16

the bbc series is interesting even though the designer/architect are bloody patronising lots of good ideas on how to use materials. I particularly liked the scottish 50k building.

canutesauntie · 17/10/2013 21:34

I'm a week behind and have just finished last weeks episode, the Japanese house in the woods. Thought Kevin was sailing a bit close to the wind continually referring to the Welsh builders - that firm is from Lydney in the Forest of Dean and they all sounded like Foresters to me! Foresters don't like being called Welsh...
Thats about the fourth GD around here, the barn converted by Greek builders several series ago is near me, up for sale again - far too expensive for the area without land. You do wonder how long people stay in some of them.

Takver · 17/10/2013 21:41

moogy1a, I know the people in the house for 100k programme, as with all these things there was a lot they didn't mention in the programme, and a lot of it was set up.

In particular they didn't mention the fact that there are at a minimum count half a dozen houses built in just the same way within the county and all this 'oh Jane doesn't know what it will look like' is total bollocks. (Having said that I still think reciprocal frame roofs are a daft way to make a house Grin )

Takver · 17/10/2013 21:44

It did also make me giggle a bit the fact that they went and looked at all these vastly expensive houses to show 'this is the way you should do sustainable building' when they could have gone & filmed the Roundhouse or Charlie and Meg's house which is all of 5 minutes walk away.

mersea208 · 18/10/2013 19:05

Why didn't they have a woodburner? Certainly looked as though they'd need one. Hated them when they said the oak banister rail was in a skip!

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 19/10/2013 21:33

Having a Kevin day. Just caught up on his ma made home, watched the Japanese house couple. Nuts way to go about it but nice people. Just started the next one and I don't like their smug faces already

OhYouWickedWickedWitch · 23/10/2013 21:03

A cob citadel eh?

hattymattie · 23/10/2013 21:07

I'm liking this - although can't understand how mud won't collapse in extreme rain.

OhYouWickedWickedWitch · 23/10/2013 21:07

Well this is a bit different!

hattymattie · 23/10/2013 21:08

Oh - don't know how that happened.Blush

OhYouWickedWickedWitch · 23/10/2013 21:09

We hiccuped!

OhYouWickedWickedWitch · 23/10/2013 21:11

I reckon it's the hugest build yet.

hattymattie · 23/10/2013 21:11

Grin - looks like they've bitten off more than they can chew though.
