For those of us who have no life care about Corrie and want to see it returned to its former glory.

And want answers to questions such as:

Why are Sean and Marcus moving back into Eileen's pokey house instead of getting a place of their own as other couples with two wages would do?

And does anyone else apart from me and Edith Weston remember when Corrie was on two days a week and was a high quality drama/comedy?

OP posts:

nobody ever visits anyone grave either, or goes to a night class, or works anywhere else other than in the street or for the services nurse/dr/police/fire service

Agincourt · 11/04/2012 14:46

and where are all the parking problems

streets like that have cars either side and a dodgy traffic warden hanging about usually

violathing · 11/04/2012 14:53

Sally was touch and go in hospital with a serious head injury and ROsie was no where to be seen? I know she is in London bt wouldn't you rush back to be at Mum's side?

Sweepitundertherug · 11/04/2012 14:59

Rosie (Rawsie) wasn't even mentioned.
They all have pots of money to get a coffee in the cafe when they live just up the street and spend far too much money in the pub.

I can't stand the fac that characters disappear from story lines with no explaination.

I still watch it. Hmm

Nancy66 · 11/04/2012 15:18

Just seen that Terry Duckworth (jr) is coming back briefly....i used to fancy him so much when he was young and gorgeous

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 11/04/2012 15:19

Ken and Deirdre did go to pottery class a few months ago.

Maybe the reason they are all squashed into flats and houses together is because they spend all their money in the cafe and pub.

TheScottishPlayer · 11/04/2012 16:46

I'm always impressed by their speedy decorating given I've not finished decorating my house in 5 years.

What happened with Brian and Julie? Did he find out if his vasectomy had failed?

Isn't it a bit odd that Maria is living in the poky shop flat? Surely she could buy Dev's flat? After all, her husband died leaving her a house and business which she sold and presumably he had mortgage insurance.

The Tyrone and policewoman story line really annoys me. She's a bit of a pantomime baddy and not the best actress either.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 11/04/2012 18:14

I thought Maria still owned Dev's house and rented it to him. Not sure what she did with the business, he never really got it off the ground did he? He was importing t-shirts or something. I thought it was just wound up.

LeeCoakley · 11/04/2012 21:07

I'm amazed at Sally's speedy recovery.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 11/04/2012 21:41

Another thing, Liam and Maria had a dog, whatever happened to him?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/04/2012 21:49

Liam & Marias dog Ozzie is living in Ireland now with Liam's parents.

Who lives in the flat above the hairdressers?

meditrina · 11/04/2012 21:50

Brian saw the doctor (with Julie) who told them it was possible for vasectomised tubes to reattach spontaneously and suggested tests. Brian declined the test, saying just knowing it wasn't medically impossible was enough as he did trust her really.

meditrina · 11/04/2012 21:55

Here's a Corrie blogger on who lives where. Is it up to date?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 11/04/2012 21:55

Maria, Kirk, Liam, Marcus and Sean live there at the moment I think. I'd forgotten that Maria went to Ireland for 6 months.

BrightnessFalls · 11/04/2012 22:05

how far along is Julie? I thought there would be more reference to the miracle pregnancy. She never mentions it and I would thing she is the type to be over excited by it all. Its bizarre.

meditrina · 11/04/2012 22:17

Yes, I'd have thought that Julie's pregnancy would be a gift to a Goid writing team. I'd have expected her to be the ultimate precious vessel, heading for a great case of PFB! So many little (true to life!) details and asides that could have been put in as a kind of glue that keeps characterisation together; sadly it seems this is another wasted opportunity, as they (like so many other characters) just vanish and reappear in such disjointed ways.

EdithWeston · 11/04/2012 22:37

Julie first mentioned she was pregnant in mid-Feb (I vaguely remember that she told Eileen she was about to POAS). So I suppose it will date from the first half of January, so baby in first couple of weeks of October?

Do you think she might want to be married before the birth? It would fit with her general 1950s approach to many things, and I can just imagine what her wedding planning would be like! Unfortunately, what I'd like to see in Corrie just doesn't seem to be happening; perhaps this is the area where combined MNetters should take over?

BrightnessFalls · 11/04/2012 22:38

Julie wanted a baby so much. I wouldve thought she wouldve been really precious about her pregnancy. They have missed such a treat there. She's not even showing yet, which is strange for Corrie, usually, they rush these things on. When is it due then? The Queens jubiliee or what other event?

BrightnessFalls · 11/04/2012 22:39

Sorry Edith, we cross posted. So, its due later than I thought. All babies in Corrie are born around Christmas or some other significant event. Halloween?

chantico · 11/04/2012 22:56

Well, we don't know her cycle length, nor how long she'd been wondering before she POAS, so it could be very different from my estimate. Perhaps she'll have a scan which might tie the dates down a bit more clearly?

But you might be on to something about major events in Corrie occurring around significant RL events. Perhaps they could have a Jubilee wedding?

chantico · 11/04/2012 22:58

(bugger, that blew a post-tantrum name change out of the water!)

BrightnessFalls · 11/04/2012 22:59

Yes, thats true. Corrie wont miss the Jubilee. There will be something going on then. Has Julie even had a scan? Its so weird how they arent making a story out of it.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 12/04/2012 13:57

It is isn't it, they went overboard on the ridiculous Brian versus Kylie business and are ignoring the pregnancy. Brian could be a really good character if they let the school part stay in the background but played him as a fussy, protective, excited dad-to-be. Maybe he could get the sack from school and end up working as a cab driver.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/04/2012 19:32

And Julie's baby can be born in his cab Grin with Marcus the midwife telling her to "breath breathe"

theliverpoolone · 12/04/2012 21:05

did you see Ozzy miraculously appear tonight?! Poor Kirk, holds down a fulltime job, walks Ozzy and babysits Liam, while Maria works and goes to the Rovers Hmm
