For those of us who have no life care about Corrie and want to see it returned to its former glory.

And want answers to questions such as:

Why are Sean and Marcus moving back into Eileen's pokey house instead of getting a place of their own as other couples with two wages would do?

And does anyone else apart from me and Edith Weston remember when Corrie was on two days a week and was a high quality drama/comedy?

I don't think Tracy was meant to be 26 weeks pregnant - more like 16 i think

PoorAudreyHorseface · 09/04/2012 15:03

Edith - I thought that it was forensic evidence that brought Tracey's defence down. Didn't she claim that Charlie had attacked her, damaging her hand and she had bashed him with the murder weapon in self-defence but forensic evidence showed that she must have hit him using the hand that she claimed was injured.

Or did I just make that up?

The pregnancy was 26 weeks (or more). You can find the date of the encounter with Steve which began the pregnancy in any number of Corrie archives.

The key point in the trial was that she admitted she bashed him over the head. Her defence did not query that. The DV setting was disbelieved by the Jury for a number of reasons, and there was no rebutting evidence brought by the defence over any of the forensic evidence.

Nancy66 · 09/04/2012 15:52

No, sorry she definitely wasn't more than six month's pregnant!

FrillyMilly · 09/04/2012 16:12

I pretty sure she wasnt that far gone. It wasn't long after her scan was it? Corrie have done a stillborn story before and did it sympathetically so I don't know why they wouldn't do so again.

Actually, annulment is one area they seem to have researched. There are very few grounds on which an annulment can be granted, and the only potentialy applicable one in Steve and Tracy's case is non-consumation. The non-consumation has to be either due to permanant lack of capacity (clearly not applicable) or wilful refusal of one party. As Tracy was willing to consumate the marriage, Steve couldn't seek an annulment on this ground and will have to wait until they've been married for a year to divorce her citing unreasonable behaviour

thegreylady · 09/04/2012 20:14

I stopped watching when I couldnt bear the John/Fizz storyline it used to be great.Emmerdale is also rubbish-I dont know why I have a tv these days :(

thegreylady · 09/04/2012 20:16

By the way my dh had his RC marriage annulled after 20 years and three children on grounds that his ex who was 19 at the time didnt know what she was doing[or something] she was pg at the time.

LineRunner · 09/04/2012 20:50

I am just watching the Carl/Sunita snog scene and feel tainted.

chantico · 09/04/2012 21:06

Tracey and Steve had their one night stand in late July, so if she has a normal length cycle she was a minimum of 25 weeks when the babies died.

ISpyPlumPie · 09/04/2012 21:14

There's a difference between legal annulment and RC annulment - think it would be the legal kind Steve was after (given his history of divorces I doubt he's a staunch Catholic!).

LaGrenouille · 09/04/2012 21:18

Has Katie's PND gone away now. No mention of it now.

I wish they would get rid of Gail, and Deirdre, who irritate me. Bring back Suzy Birchill!

I've been watching Corrie since I was a child, back in the days of Annie Walker, Len Fairclough etc. I still love it even though some of the characters could do with a bit of a polish.

Glad they got rid of Clur when they did, and squeaky Ashley.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 09/04/2012 21:21

Carl and Sunita is just stupid

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/04/2012 22:26

baby Jack is with Kevin's dad- he told Sally when they arranged to meet up for a drink.

He must've heard everyone asking or Kevin goes on MN Grin

LineRunner · 09/04/2012 22:29

And as EdithWeston pointed out elsewhere, Tracey-Luv's previous kidney transplant has all been conveniently forgotten.

And does no-one play in the red rec any more? There seems to be a park now.

TheScottishPlayer · 09/04/2012 23:21

I don't understand how Carl and Stella got a mortgage for the pub if he's been racking up all these debts Confused

PoorAudreyHorseface · 10/04/2012 02:36

Do you think MNHQ could get the producers on here for a webchat Grin

OP posts:
TheScottishPlayer · 10/04/2012 18:22

That would be great!

LaGrenouille · 10/04/2012 19:17

Ooh yes! Any contacts oop north MNHQ?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/04/2012 20:19

Great idea

TheScottishPlayer · 10/04/2012 20:20

Yeah, come on MNHQ - we want Corrie!

LaGrenouille · 10/04/2012 21:24

I wonder if MNHQ have a klaxon alert thing, every time MNHQ is mentioned in a thread.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/04/2012 21:27

Yes MNHQ, a Corrie Webchat would be a great idea!

It has occurred to me that we could have a Corrie quiche, there always seems to be a Corrie thread going. We might have to have one with and one without spoilers though.

PigeonPair · 10/04/2012 21:50

Another twice a weeker here (Mondays and Wednesdays). I remember sitting REALLY still and REALLY quietly so mum and dad wouldn't send us up to bed!

LineRunner · 10/04/2012 21:53

Yes, MNHQ, get the Corrie writers on.
