The big Corrie thread (Spoiler Alert!)

For those of us who have no life care about Corrie and want to see it returned to its former glory.

And want answers to questions such as:

Why are Sean and Marcus moving back into Eileen's pokey house instead of getting a place of their own as other couples with two wages would do?

And does anyone else apart from me and Edith Weston remember when Corrie was on two days a week and was a high quality drama/comedy?

I'm not watching at the moment, but hasn't Peter become callous towards Simon, it's sickening.

Something that occurred to me today, is Terry Duckworth still supposed to be alive?

BrightnessFalls · 13/04/2012 20:03

I cant bloody remember. Is Terry the dad of the blonde lad that is going out with Tina? I dont know if he's dead or alive, to be honest.

Is rubbish isnt it? Im still fascinated by where baby Jack lives and who looks after him. What happened to Mollies auntie?

LineRunner · 13/04/2012 20:08

Yeah, Tommy is Terry's son. He was 'that poor little babby' one minute, back in overalls with a crap Campervan plotline the next.

ivykaty44 · 13/04/2012 20:12

linerunner - it just makes him look a bit dim (I know thats not difficult) as if he keeps forgetting where he is and why

TheScottishPlayer · 13/04/2012 20:14

I think Terry might be coming back you know. Isn't baby Jack looked after by the same mystery childminder that looks after Liam and Hope?

I really don't like the woman that's sharing with Tracey. She's awful.

Peter is becoming quite loathesome. All this 'I always put Simon first' - he has a very short memory!

BrightnessFalls · 13/04/2012 20:15

how much did he inherit and how much do you think that campervan cost? Thats another thing I hate about Corrie and soaps in general, they never have any ambitions to do anything. To be fair, little Tommy seems to have roamed the world well, gone to afew full moon parties

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 13/04/2012 20:30

Yes, Tommy was Terry's child, but brought up by grandparents after his mum was killed. Jack and Vera used to visit him in Blackpool a lot.

I think I recall Tyrone speaking to Terry on the phone after Jack died, but Terry didn't come back for the funeral. Peter is shaping up to be just as bad with regards to parental responsibility.

It was £12k he inherited. As for lack of ambition, they all go off to college as a convenient plot device and then get chucked out and come back to work in the corner shop, or cafe, whatever. Can't remember anyone actually graduating. No wonder Ken gets frustrated with them all!

Didn't Mollie's aunty marry Kevin's dad and they all disowned Kev. Did the Dad die, I seem to remember him having a heart attack not too long ago.

BrightnessFalls · 13/04/2012 20:34

I wish Peter wouldnt wear those shiney suits. He's not really Carla's type, is he?

Is that bloke ever going to come back from the building site in Germany? Im surprised he could just walk out like that. And, where is their son these days? did his panic attacks just go away?

LineRunner · 13/04/2012 20:39

Oh dear. Now the uninteresting Hair Salon War.

LineRunner · 13/04/2012 20:54

With the unconvincing large policeman.

BrightnessFalls · 13/04/2012 21:09

Is Lewis a goody or a baddy then?

LineRunner · 13/04/2012 21:12

He's Betty's love child.

LeeCoakley · 13/04/2012 22:19

Mary's line about the hair making her fruit look like a kiwi was hilarious (if only I could remember it correctly Blush). Then that giveaway comment about it being ginger hair. Rita's expression was brilliant! I hope they keep giving those two some good comedy routines.

Yes agree, the salon stuff is a real yawn.

gregssausageroll · 14/04/2012 09:30

I also read terry is coming back. Something to do with the unit for sale next to the bistro that nick mentioned last night.

gregssausageroll · 14/04/2012 09:31

Mollies auntie is living with or married to Kevin's dad. They look after baby jack when kev is down the pub.

Nancy66 · 14/04/2012 12:48

Is the actress who plays Carla pregnant in real life - she's doing that thing of always holding something in front of her or being filmed behind a desk.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 14/04/2012 12:55

I was wondering that Nancy, she had an empire line top on the other day and looked as though she was filling it.

gregssausageroll · 14/04/2012 12:58

Are you sure nancy. Can't see anything on digital spy or google. Only her first in 2008.

whatkungfuthat · 14/04/2012 18:16

There was a news story about Alison King (Carla) recently but I can't remember if she was pg or had just got engaged. She used to go out with Des Barnes in real life Shock

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/04/2012 19:57

Oooh, Des Barnes- a face I'd never tire of slapping.
Y'know his ex-wife on Corrie (was it Steph?)

Is it the same actress in "Scott and Bailey" plays the 'boss'. She looks really good.

PuffPants · 14/04/2012 20:53

I was wondering if Kate Ford was pregnant actually - Tracey seems to be wearing a lot of unflattering baggy cardigans and loose tips atm.

TheScottishPlayer · 14/04/2012 21:08

I wondered the same about Kate Ford actually.

Nancy66 · 14/04/2012 21:09

yes...i wondered that about Kate Ford too.

Not certain about alison king but she always seems to be in baggy clothes when her character has always been very foxy

KenDoddsDadsDog · 14/04/2012 21:52

The salon thing is so stupid.

PoorAudreyHorseface · 15/04/2012 07:27

Saw on the cover of some grotty TV mag a photo of Terry Duckworth so he is coming back which is a shame as he was always a terrible actor.

What is Tommy's role at the garage? Is he a mechanic/trainee or is he just paid to stand around in overalls?
