Is it just me, or is it really just not funny? I feel almost embarrassed watching it - it is so cringy!

I just absolutely 'what I call' LOVE her. I wish she was my best friend. She's one of those few people who make me feel giggly even before they have actually done anything funny. Her show is beautifully written, warm and so silly and it never fails to make me weak with laughter. She deserves to be a national treasure I reckon.

So there.

noddyholder · 02/02/2011 14:11

Oh yes john bishop is the ultimate one trick pony Awful.

BendyBob · 02/02/2011 14:16

I don't love it or hate it. It doesn't make me laugh out loud and don't go out of my way to watch it. The falling over gets a bit predictable.

upahill · 02/02/2011 14:19

What's up with John Bishop? Confused He's ok

I'm I the only one that likes The Middle then?

2old4thislark · 02/02/2011 14:19

Do agree on John Bishop though - found him faintly amusing the first time I saw him but now find him quite irritating.

2old4thislark · 02/02/2011 14:20

The Middle? The American one with the funny little boy? Who's really 12? No we like that too.

taffetasplat · 02/02/2011 14:22

I find JB very misogynistic

upahill · 02/02/2011 14:24

Think that's the one 2old...
£ kids Axel, Susan and Brick.

The dad is very tall.

upahill · 02/02/2011 14:24

Clearly talking in code £= 3

2old4thislark · 02/02/2011 14:27

Yes that's the one.

I don't really like sit coms in general - too staged and predictable - but I do think it's nice to see a female comic in a prime time slot.

Outnumbered rules!

Who else would you rather had her own show?

BLOO3Z · 02/02/2011 15:20

well I love and so does my daughter an gives us chance for some girly telly watching time.
I even went online to watch the old episodes which we had not seen as we new to Miranda.
Clean comedy

woahthere · 02/02/2011 15:25

am i missing something about stevie? isnt the whole idea of her that she is meant to be really annoying, i think she is funny too...agree about her in horrible histories too

CornishKK · 02/02/2011 15:43

Awful IMO, simply not funny, three jokes (being fugly, single and clumsy) can't really be stretched into a series.

Can't believe she won so many comedy awards.

However I like The Mighty Boosh, Grandma's House and Klang which many other people don't, humour is a personal thing.

Some people like Allo Allo Grin

melikalikimaka · 02/02/2011 16:03

YANBU I don't get her either, I just turn it over when I see her.

messylittlemonkey · 02/02/2011 16:03

I think Miranda is supposed to be staged and predictable. A farce if you like. It's not meant to be witty or edgy. That's what I like about it anyway.

However, I can understand why people don't like/get it.

fridakahlo · 02/02/2011 16:05

Outnumbered has some classic episodes. The little girl Karen is just scarily evil and so funny because of it. My two favourite that really stand out as painfully funny were the airport episode and the one which starts with Ben and the dad at the hospital.
A few of them were only marginally funny and they definitely were not my inlaws cup of tea but I love them anyway.
Miranda is amusing from time to time but I would not go out of my way to watch it.
It must be hard to write comedy for TV because you have to appeal to a large audience who's sense of humor will be quite varied.

BendyBob · 02/02/2011 16:08

Oh dear not Outnumbered either! Those precocious children and drippy parents make me want to set fire to the tv.

melikalikimaka · 02/02/2011 16:11

Big Fat Gipsy Wedding is the best laugh for me!

GabbyLoggon · 02/02/2011 16:11

I like Miranda, but I can see why some people find it cringy. "Gabby"

noddyholder · 02/02/2011 16:11

Grin Let me light the match

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 02/02/2011 16:13

Miranda is a national treasure.

BendyBob · 02/02/2011 16:14

Lol noddyGrin - we seem to share the same feelings on what's not funny.

GabbyLoggon · 02/02/2011 16:14

I saw Charlie Brooker last night. There was a clip fron a past rude comedy show which I thought was hilarious.

I had never seen it before and cant remember the name.
