Is it just me, or is it really just not funny? I feel almost embarrassed watching it - it is so cringy!

OP posts:
redrollers · 03/02/2011 16:04

It's hilarious!!

pookamoo · 03/02/2011 16:48

How about Miranda Hart for a live webchat?

(whether you think she's funny or not?)

rickymummy · 03/02/2011 16:54

Haven't read the whole thread, but I absolutely love it.

pot39 · 03/02/2011 17:48

Comedy is probably in the eye of the beholder.
Wouldn't life be boring if we all liked the same things. I don't get Glee at all.
But Miranda is fab, I'm told by me sons that she reminds them of me she's an 'unlady'. I also like the fact that she has a gorgeous man in love with her..........

upahill · 03/02/2011 17:59

She was on Steve Wright this afternoon with another comedian. I can't remember his name but he is part of a duo that does the chav pilots- y'know old airforce type talking in chav lingo. Anyway, him!

oldbeforetime · 03/02/2011 18:06

Armstrong?

Miller?

jonicomelately · 03/02/2011 18:11

I really hope she doesn't come on here simply because she'll get flak she doesn't deserve Sad

upahill · 03/02/2011 18:25

Armstrong!! That's it!

upahill · 03/02/2011 18:26

I don't think she would get flak though.
She's not everybodies cup of comedy tea but so what.

It's horses for courses.

jonicomelately · 03/02/2011 18:33

I disagree.

Somebody on here earlier was taking the piss out of her hair Shock

She'd get loads of stick imho.

upahill · 03/02/2011 18:36

Well if that is the case it is shit.
It's one thing not liking a paticular style comdey (or acting or singing or whatever ) but personal attacks about a person is just rude and not on.

Personaly I have stated Miranda isn't my sought of humour but hey ho we are all different.

Cleofartra · 03/02/2011 19:14

Love, love, love Miranda. Watch it with dd and my mum and all three of us enjoy it. Find it a oddly bonding experience watching it with my female relatives. Confused

camerondiazepam · 03/02/2011 20:18

Vote for Miranda here, hope they do another series.

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 03/02/2011 20:45

I totally HEART Miranda! I loved the 'breast clap'!
Love My Family,
Love Outnumbered!
So there!

pointylug · 03/02/2011 20:48

I am into Gary Tank Commander at the moment.

Now he is funny.

TheSkiingGardener · 03/02/2011 20:53

Love My Family
Love Outnumbered, very original.

Miranda, completely unfunny.

beanlet · 03/02/2011 20:57

I'm middle class.

Miranda is NOT FUNNY. Not at all.

Outnumbered, on the other hand, is hilarious.

SilkStalkings · 03/02/2011 21:11

I don't find her funny either, vaguely depressing in fact. Prefer more subtle stuff without audience like Royle Family, Early Doors, Peep Show or actually surreal stuff like Black Books, Green Wing.
Can see why people do like Miranda though, can only imagine she reminds them of themselves?

willowstar · 03/02/2011 21:14

I love Miranda, one of the very few shows that I make a point to watch and always laugh out loud. how could it even be mentioned in the same sentance as that drivel 'my family' or whatever it is called!

SilkStalkings · 03/02/2011 21:19

Just can't bear a loser heroine, hate a lot of chicklit for the same reason (eg Bridget Jones, Shopaholic) - women making the same mistakes over and over again. Loser men though I find funny, for some reason I have higher expectations from womenConfused.

50andfun · 03/02/2011 21:54

I love Miranda and giggle away: but it's a bit of a guilty pleasure. Maybe because seh reminds me of myself a few years back and, yes, Patricia Hodge is more than a little bit like my mother! Also good to see women beating the men at comedy.

HelenBa · 03/02/2011 22:41

yup, cringey

rupaul · 03/02/2011 23:43

The proof it's crap - would anyone start a thread about Peep Show and ask if it's acceptable to like it? Unlikely, might not be to everyone's taste but undeniably good.

Pan · 03/02/2011 23:58

just dreadfully weak and badly prepared. Hope it's just a flash and the show will get dropped for being mediocre.

better than some males, though FWIW.

JFly · 04/02/2011 08:56

Nope. Don't get it. Have dipped in and out after a few people I know said they loved it. Not my kind of "comedy".

But then the BBC comedy programming is just not that good. The sketch shows are decent, but otherwise it's as if they aren't spending enough time/development/money on good programmes. Outnumbered and Rev are too brilliant shows, but they are the exception and not the rule.
