What are the main trends going to be would you say?

Brown! Fawns and neutrals! Rich chocolate and colour blocking in shades of brown.

Oh - and ladylike. Blazers and longer skirts. Neat knits and satin shirts.

@paddleboardingmum Don’t see egg not but long ones with the skirts. Jean’s seem to still be barrel leg but I’m not so keen so sticking to wider legs as I’m tall. You don’t have to do head to toe brown and it’s nice to mix textures such as looser knit polo shirts and satins.

Faux fur, checks, a more ladylike look in general, jewel colours, embellishment/ott

quiet luxury is meant to be over & more fun again. I would like this to translate into the high street

Me too! I would never ever wear it. It was everywhere last year and I really hoped it would be gone soon but it doesn't look likely
unfortunately.

Bloody brown everything! M&S brown everything from pyjamas to bath mats plus some disgustjng bile colour.Who designs this crap? Whats wrong with some upllifting colour to lighten our mood through the autumn winter months. My school uniform was brown and I swore I would never wear that so called colour again.

For colors, rich merlot color (deep, jewel-toned purple) and rich chartreuse. Silk, with embroidered detail (in-set, like lingerie style), paired with brushed cashmere over-sized sweaters, perhaps with funnel neck, but also off the shoulder.
Ballet flats, but with a more pointed toe, and/or higher vamp. Return of (subtle) Western influence in boots. Again in burgundy, chocolate brown.
Longer silky pleated skirts (pleats all the way around, not pleats at the front like a school skirt), still tweeds for trousers and jackets in traditional tweed colors, perhaps paired with dull pink silk blouses.
Jeans are still wide or barrel leg, paired with bomber style jackets again with funnel neck.

Slouchy leather bags, east-west shape, with bold handles in gold or acrylic, say, in a tortoise shell design. Bottega style Intrecciato.

Kilts, a hint of tweed, subtle return of jeans with a front creese. Wide legs with the emphasis on pockets, dark denim with a tweedy jacket or a leather jacket - not biker or too obvs blouson shaped. Brown but not wishy washy more chocolate and return of russet, orange and mustard continues.

Disagree slightly on the jeans - they’re moving towards a loose straight leg rather than wide or barrel leg.

Brown definitely.

Texture rather than print to add interest - suede, leather, wool, tweed

Jewellery - silver over gold.

Shoes - higher v-shaped vamps. Low heels.

Cropped oversized jackets/shirts/jumpers

Blazers are more of a fitted ‘waisted’ silhouette, rather than the long loose styles we’ve had for a while.

New ‘in’ colour is chartreuse - a challenging one for many people to carry off well tbh

Going by the descriptions of what's "in" this year, I won't be buying anything 😅

Went into H&M last week. The entire store was brown brown brown. No thanks.

Same here. It's the one colour that doesn't suit me, it's so draining. And I'm short so wide or barrel legs don't work for me either. I loved fashion in the 80s & 90s, although I was slimmer then, but I'm finding it hard to get excited about it now. High Street stuff used to be much better quality, at least you'd get some natural fibres and more care taken over manufacturing, now it's expensive for polyester crap.

I feel compelled to put in a word for brown. I'm delighted it's still around and I waited a very long time for it to make a come back so I'm not in the least bit sorry.

Quiet luxury can fuck right off. And so can fucking brown fucking everywhere. And nasty fucking shades of green.

I’m a big brown fan too so I’m pleased. I’ve bought a couple of cropped jackets/blazers with one button at the top (I don’t think I’ve described that well and I’m sure it has a proper name) which I haven’t seen much of before so I’m assuming they’re on trend! I saw some nice Western-inspired knee high boots in M&S yesterday although they didn’t have my size so I may need to try get them online. Lots of kitten heels too although I’m not sure I can be bothered with them again.
