What are the main trends going to be would you say?

OP posts:

So the Davina McCall look.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · Today 10:32

Judging by what I saw in the shops yesterday, blouson jackets often with funnel necks and/or patch pockets, military styling, satin, faux fur collars.

I fucking hate kitten heels too.

Looks like I’ll be very “out” this autumn.

I feel compelled to put in a word for brown. I'm delighted it's still around and I waited a very long time for it to make a come back so I'm not in the least bit sorry.

So am I. I'm a freckly redhead( now nearly white) and brown is so much more flattering on me than black or grey. This summer I've loved my long dark brown linen dress, trousers and shirt, had compliments on them which doesn't often happen!

BatshitCrazyWoman · Today 10:35

I was reading something about catwalk trends and slim jeans were mentioned as coming back. More practical for wet weather at least! I don't mind brown (was also my school uniform) because it's wildly flattering on me 😂 I hope that horrible bright green colour (not chartreuse, which doesn't suit me but I like it) disappears!

I just popped into Sainsbury’s. The clothes section was a sea of brown.
Funnel necks seem to be big not juts jackets but shirts as well. Scarf and bow necks as well. Slogan T-shirts still a thing. Not much floating my boat apart from long sleeve raglan T-shirts

GiRocks · Today 10:39

Love kilts, pleats and brown. Have lots of stuff already.

Do not like funnel necks with big boobs. And no thanks to chartreuse!

I hope drop waists disappear. Impossible for me with my belly!

Winederlust · Today 10:43

Burgundy's the colour of A/W again, same as last year. And everything with a check of some sort.

Brown 🤮

Skinny jeans are back which makes sense cycle wise.

Yes, Skinny Jeans Are Back—Here's How to Wear Them Now

The secret to pulling off fashion’s most polarizing denim comeback is all in the styling.

Brown! Fawns and neutrals! Rich chocolate and colour blocking in shades of brown.

I shall be deeply unfashionable then 😁

TBH I don't really understand the concept of colours being "in" or " out". Most people look better in colours that suit them so, as a jewel winter, I won't be wearing brown, faun or any other sludgy colour.

BitOutOfPractice · Today 10:51

I appreciate brown suits some people but it also turns off such a large section of the population I can’t believe it’s a good business decision. There were certainly a lot of brown items left in the M&S sale in my local store.

Exactly, hence my earlier comments.

I love a kilt though so I might do some online window shopping.

Some other colour ideas if you dislike brown

RaraRachael · Today 10:56

I tend to carry on wearing what I've got as everything in the shops is hideous.

GiRocks · Today 10:57

I bought some lovely kilts in the Celtic and. Co sale earlier in the year so am pleased to see them still in fashion.

Screamingabdabz · Today 10:59

The reality of Autumn dressing on ordinary bodies looks like Fisk to me.

And ‘quiet luxury’ doesn’t work on my busty barmaid figure. So I‘m out.

Going to blame the tinned goods survival era and wait it out until Christmas…Ugh, although that’s another dreary parade of unflattering shaped knitwear and cliche colours…

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · Today 11:03

I don’t want to wear colours because they’re “in”. I want to wear colours that I like. And I really resent that now shops just have a couple of colours and expect everyone to conform to them.

Thank goodness I like black.

RampantIvy · Today 11:03

lippylip · Today 10:55

Love, love, love the purple colours. They really suit me.

lippylip · Today 11:14

@ScreamingabdabzFisk 😆😆

I’ve just given all of mine to the charity shop Grin
