I'm about a size 16 now. My jeans are baggy on the legs but right around the belly. I just have nothing that fits anymore. Any ideas? I'm a 34L boobs now. Probably size 18.

Time to hide the thread. Enough rage in the world already.

I agree. My comment was really for blackcatclub25 as I noticed the OP had put her down too despite it being a good choice.

DancingNotDrowning · 02/03/2026 20:59

I actually think this must be a wind up.

  • K cup, no L cup, actually M cup
  • perky rack /boobs point downwards
  • Any ideas what I can wear / I know what suits me
  • I never wear anything tucked in / posts photo with a t shirt tucked in.
  • why would you think i wear these jeans / posts a pic in said jeans

this is the most insanely chaotic thread with the rudest OP

it’s like the the S&B version of “AIBU to call my friend a spiteful bitch for not letting me stay in her spare room despite the fact I trashed it three weeks ago whilst having a tjreesome with her DH?”

Everyone: “YABVU”

OP: ”Urghh you’re all fat jealous beeatches who couldn’t get a shag if you tried”

Edited

I might buy it myself actually!

I DO get some of the frustration like people saying try brastop etc - they don’t even do an L cup and bras above an L are impossible

It's actually rather pretty and I think would be a good option for the OP's issues.

I like that too - would suit me,

People always suggest wide leg or mom jeans on here. With a big waist, slim legs become wide legs, and wide legs become ridiculously baggy. My best fitting jeans for ages were a pair of Next slim legs in a size 18, just beautifully wide on me. Barrel legs are better than wide legs with a thick waist. But elasticated/ drawstrings if they can be found. I’m a size 12 in those. Play with sizes, you may make some useful discoveries. I find it helpful to wear the same colour top to bottom. Doesn't have to be dark! Tshirts need to be thick and good quality.
Best dresses for me are thick jersey sleeveless straight dresses. I have one from Arket that looks great, and yes my belly is visible in it, but in columnar dressing, it becomes a pleasing curve! Stick a thin cotton shirt over the top if you want. I also like barrel leg ankle grazer joggers, wear them with a tighter top. Dressing for your shape isnt about disguising yourself or hiding away, but about working with proportions clothes don’t always accommodate, and being comfortable. I always looked great naked too, it’s not you, it’s the clothes!

I agree with all this zebracat - I’ve got similar issues to OP but a little less up top - an F - I’m 5ft 4 and wide leg jeans honestly just make me look huge - I do have some crinkle linen drawstring ones though from next that I wear on holiday that actually graze the floor and look good and a couple of plain M&S sleeveless jersey very long T shirt dresses with a low scoop neck and they look good as you say with an unbuttoned shirt over them - but honestly I look better in leggings and jersey flared thigh grazing dresses with low necks and boots or sandals for standard day wear

NHS won't pay for it and why would I butcher myself

No one should have any elective surgery they don't want, but people who have reductions are 'butchering' themselves? Really? It was actually one of the best things I've ever done for myself and I'm grateful every morning that I can slip on a little bra instead of a massive thick strapped contraption that wears grooves into my shoulders.

And, since we're on the topic, my 'butchery' reduced my risk of breast cancer.

Breast reduction surgery (reduction mammoplasty) can reduce the risk of breast cancer, as removing a significant amount of breast tissue means there is less tissue that can potentially become cancerous. Studies suggest a reduced risk, ranging from roughly 30% to nearly 50% for some, although it is not considered a primary preventative measure.
National Institutes of Health (.gov) +3

I'm starting to think you just might have a bit of a problem getting along with people in real life, OP.

OneNewEagle · 03/03/2026 03:56

I’m an 18 in tops 12-14 bottoms. Im 5ft 4. You have a much better figure than me but we are similar proportions. I was once an hourglass but now have a tummy.

things I find ok are slim fit jeans jeggings leggings. Or elasticated trousers. None of those dig into my tummy. Dresses that skim over my waist area. Skirts can be a hassle as some make my tummy look so big.

I just shop around and buy odd bits here and there that are ok, it takes me ages to be honest.

places that have some styles that are ok on me (most aren’t) are marks and Spencer’s, next (but not most of their things), fatface, evans, live unlimited, Tu, George, Roman and some John Lewis own branded stuff. But just a few bits from each place. Once I find a style from somewhere that’s ok I tend to buy two especially if there’s more than one colour.

have you tried lookiero? When i was struggling to find clothes to fit a few years ago they were a godsend. I still have a lot of clothes from them that I mix and match with things. Not using them nowadays as I have less money.

OneNewEagle · 03/03/2026 04:05

For example this dress may work?
it’s one I’m thinking about for myself but will probably be too long for me

I know the OP doesn't want to talk bras - but a proper fitting at a Bra Lady shop was a revelation for me.... I'd been wearing a 38 band, she brought me a 34. I looked at her as if she was a complete idiot.
She 'put me in it', adjusted all the straps, and yes, it didnt feel right, i though it was too tight....I persevered, because it gave me a lovely shape, and 2 weeks later I went back and bought another one!
Really love the dres @OneNewEagle has found, especially the ditsy black & white one!

OP - I'm sorry if I've missed it somewhere in your posts - but what is your height? As that's pretty important.

Also, you said you wanted some new fashion for your new shape. Even if the clothes you posted photos of did still fit you, they're all dated now in terms of print & style (not a criticism, that's what happens in fashion!!). The dresses/skirts also look too short - they don't lengthen you. And I agree that the b&w trousers aren't a good look.

You mentioned you like neutrals - for summer as well as now? So white/navy/camel/black/khaki? Any other colours you like as well? Do you want clothing to be mostly in that palette so that you can mix & match? What were your favourite shops before your shape change/weight gain?

Do you prefer plains or prints, or a bit of both? Florals/stripes? Are you after dresses &/or separates, stuff for day/evening &/or casual/dressy?

Btw, you'd said that nothing would help with your stomach. Nothing will magic it away, no - but I think there will be plenty of options for pants that help smooth, with a bit of added control in the stomach area. What kind of knickers do you wear now? As I need high-waisted "big pants" with tummy control. They make a big difference under skirts & dresses especially.

(I've also posted some links above for bra companies that offer an L/M/N cup.)

Thanks for the recommendations. I have got a recent bra, it doesn't fit and I've tried on about 50. I'm just too big and short etc and my boobs don't point outwards etc.

https://www.bodyandbra.com/?srsltid=AfmBOorlJAIYoDTxlRt_DK3Z-2T3aViOuR9ePFfkjlCJh3gJ10nkUV5k.

I am late 50s so my boobs are saggy, I found the above bras really comfortable. Similar to a sports bra but don't give a sausage boob effect. They often do deals and offers.

I echo the wide leg trousers vote. I am loving the wide leg slinky trousers from TU clothing. Cheap, comfy and do look smart.

Clothes shopping is just very hard work these days especially when your budget is limited.

None of those are true M or N cups - they all skip the double cups so are equivalent to maybe a J in standard U.K. sizing

AncoraAmarena · 04/03/2026 10:56

Honestly, while I agree that the OP has been rude and snarky as per her user name, I am beginning to feel bad for her that people are still going on about bra places. Especially when it then transpires that their suggestions don't even go up to her size 🙄

It might be getting quite upsetting for the OP now.

EleanorMc67 · 04/03/2026 12:35

I don't think that's true for all of the brands, @blackcatclub25 & @AncoraAmarena - see sizing chart for Ample Bosom, for example.

https://www.amplebosom.com/size-guide

My point was more about experience. And a lack of it in stores like Bravissimo & M&S etc. I used to go to Jenners department store in Edinburgh, where the bra fitters had worked there for decades. They could almost fit you by eye, they were so good.

Places like Rigby & Peller that have history, experience, & really know their stuff - after having seen every size & shape of boob known to womankind - will offer knowledge about brands & fit that you won't get on the high street.

I do agree that there's been too much focus on the "underpinnings" - but also that they're critical to get right!!

And as the OP has bought a bra that gives her bra spillage, & may well still be wearing her ordinary thongs/bikini briefs/whatever she wore "before", there's not much point in buying lovely new clothes if your bulgy squidgy bits are still really obvious?

I could suggest lots of clothes - but the OP hasn't actually given much idea of what she wants/likes & what her budget is??

I hear you, however the OP has stated many times that she doesn't want to talk about her boobs or bras so why not just respect that. Instead people are still going on (though I get they're trying to be helpful, but it is not appreciated or wanted).

Obviously the thread will then die a death as you're right, she hasn't been clear about clothing wants/needs/budgets but tbh that's probably for the best now.

Yep op started a new thread specifically about M cup bras, about a day or so after this
