Looking for fashion for my thick waist, big boobs and weight gain

I'm about a size 16 now. My jeans are baggy on the legs but right around the belly. I just have nothing that fits anymore. Any ideas? I'm a 34L boobs now. Probably size 18.

I’m not very fashionable but I am similar… how about trousers that are tightish around the leg.. elasticated leggins.. a long sleeved or 3/4 sleeved top , light material..and long enough to fall loosely just below the stomach. A longish baggy cardigan. Not buttoned up.. hands in pockets… get the idea…

babysnark123 · 01/03/2026 19:20

This is from the side. Obviously the jeans arent flattering but I have a huge belly now

Honestly, @babysnark123 you don’t look bad at all. I’d swap that top for a long sleeved rib knitted polo top (vertical lines and narrow sleeves and a soft collar) but your jeans fit well at the top. They could be wider below the knee, to look more bold and fashionable.

I’m afraid @fataroundthemiddle‘s suggestion of leggings, tunic and baggy cardigan must be a cruel joke.

Figroll16 · 01/03/2026 19:59

I’d either swap the jeans for a wider leg pair or a wide leg trousers that are more drapey like these

https://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.1293733003.html

I think the wider leg would balance your figure better than your current jeans.

ScoutOfTheSoftHeartsClub · 01/03/2026 20:04

Not exactly this cardigan, but similar.

(You’re so lucky you can tuck things in. I’m a smaller size, but with a vast rib cage, so it never looks good on me.)

Blarn · 01/03/2026 20:14

I think the top works. The v breaks up your bust if that is what you were after. Similar fitting tops or jumpers with a round or v neck would look good. You just need to find a style of jeans that work for you, unfortunately that means trying on lots of styles and sizes - don't be put off by the size on the label, just get what fits you!

Blarn · 01/03/2026 20:18

And your comment on the second photo about 'huge belly': no one else sees that! I think once you've got some bottoms that fit well you will feel a lot better about how you look.

babysnark123 · 01/03/2026 20:39

This is my belly. It hangs over when I sit down

I never tuck anything in.

Would that not make my boobs look bigger?

You are similar to me, size 16 following a big weight gain. Only I have sad, deflated post-breastfeeding boobs 😂

I would start with sizing everything up. I really clung onto a M size as it would “fit” but an L or XL looks much better.

I’ve also come to terms with the fact that a high waist no longer is best for me despite having a small waist. I’m an hourglass from the front, but flabby belly side-on. A mid rise is so much better as you get the lower-belly-pooch support but without the unsightly bulge in profile.

agree with other posters about v-necks suiting you. I’d also try scoop necks for the same reason.

Thanks so look out for mid stomach jeans?

Isn’t the black t shirt tucked in?

BTW I have provided two links above to Vogue and Glamour magazine articles with lists of great plus size fashion brands. Please scroll back and look at them once MNHQ’s AI releases my post!

I think your shape is fine, good underwear is a godsend. Can make a huge difference in how your clothes look.

You’ve got shape and the tucked in waist suits you.

I’d wear softer, wide leg trousers. I’m a huge fan of M&S ones because they’re cheap and they come in lengths.

Pair with a v neck - something silky will skim if you’re worried about your belly, but honestly the tshirt looks good.

Finally look at your bra - if you’ve put on weight recently does it definitely fit? Everything looks better when your bra fits

I have got to the point where bras dont fit. I've got four boobs..I've managed to get an ok bra. I need to make weight. My belly i don't think is going to be helped by any underwear as I've got no support in the muscles?

Great minds, @PhaedraWas! 😂

corblimeyguvnr · 01/03/2026 20:55

Wide leg jeans for you - they will not cling to your stomach and it's hard to tell what is fabric and what is not. Highly recommend these - worth every penny. plus something like this top. Try it - I bet you will be surprised. The denim is quality and holds shape well. I had a reduction many years ago and it was one of the best things I ever did.

Thanks for the recommendations. I have got a recent bra, it doesn't fit and I've tried on about 50. I'm just too big and short etc and my boobs don't point outwards etc.

But what about my flat ass?

Ditch those jeans. They're awful.

The model in this link is about the same size as you - she looks fab.

Her boobs are also not very big.
