Looking for fashion for my thick waist, big boobs and weight gain

I'm about a size 16 now. My jeans are baggy on the legs but right around the belly. I just have nothing that fits anymore. Any ideas? I'm a 34L boobs now. Probably size 18.

I think you’ve got a lovely shape!

But those jeans need to go. Next do some ‘rinse blue jersey denim wide leg trousers’ that (I think) would look FABULOUS on you. They are soft, super-comfy and look cool. Wear them with some cool trainers.

Short sleeved cardigans left open at the neck would look nice on top - nothing long or baggy though. They want to look neat on you.

Thank you.
.I think I was asking for post baby/change in shape/weight gain help and people are missing the point.

I look ok naked haha, it's just clothed it's so hard after being a mum.

I will try M&S and Next as I've had alot of suggestions and I never shopped there before, apart from occasionally. But now with my new figure I should do there.

ScoutOfTheSoftHeartsClub Your links have been approved.

OP most, indeed possibly all of the suggestions in these links are well-known brands like Ganni, Monsoon, Never Fully Dressed, Rixo, Karen Mullen, Anthrpologie, Lucy and Yak who cater for sizes 4 to 20.

Ah have they started to include bigger sizes?

Loose the jeans. The wide leg trousers DO suit you BUT they are too short. Get the length correct and you will see such a difference. Also compliment the look with an open shirt.

HeNeedsRehab · 02/03/2026 07:01

Sainsburys jeans are great OP and don’t break the bank. I’ve just bought some flared ones that fit like a dream, don’t cling to my stomach (I’m a similar size/shape just without the great boobs!). I wear them with a boxy style t-shirt with elbow length sleeves (again from Sainsbury’s). Or they do some barrel leg ones that are flattering and can be worn baggier in the leg again with a boxy tshirt or a tighter tshirt tucked in.

I know you must be feeling not like yourself at the moment (I remember that feeling) but I found buying myself a few new bits in my new size made me feel much better.

They make me look boxy, fatter and shorter than I am. Not flattering and I'm asking for suggestions so I can shop for my post baby body.

I'm not wearing them, they look awful in real life, I've just asked my partner.

They’re too short but the shape is a million times better than the jeans which are a terrible fit and do nothing for you.

I’d suggest going to your nearest department store and try on lots of options in the size you are currently. I’m not sure you’re ready to hear other peoples ideas, lots of posters have provided thoughtful and positive comments and feedback and you’ve really lived up to your user name.

Maybe you should read what I've actually written? Why on earth are you comparing a pair of jeans I wear around the house to what I aim to wear????? It's just weird and then you get offensive by saying "I'm not sure you want to hear". Really, why on earth would I write the post.

Also I think wearing baggy clothes because you are overweight is also not the way to dress well either

Have you ever tried Halara jeans op? They are similar to the next pull on jeans someone posted below but I find the fabric a bit better. They are pull on so no waist band/belt loop but the waist band is quite wide so comfy. The wide leg ones are my most flattering trousers ever and I say this as someone who shied away from wide legs for years - they sort of drape. If you are a 16/18 I’d say get a large and at 5 ft 3 I get a petite leg length. Quite a lot on vinted if you can find the leg length you need.

those, some trainers, a t shirt like the one you have on and a jacket of some description could look good as a kind of uniform for day to day - supremely comfortable, practical and easy to accessorize fairly easily.

the one thing I’d say is jacket - I think with the boobs you’d be better off with a blazer type shape rather than a bomber/straight cut jacket (loads of which are around atm). Also think you should not expect it to button up iyswim. There are a few nice ones in H&M (I saw a check one that could look funky) but very much would need to try a few I find.

I do really like the first dress you posted too. That shape is great on you. There was a cotton tshirt shaped dress in M&S in olive green on the weekend - it had a sort of draw string waist. Possibly you’d need to size up for boob purposes but could then drawn in iyswim around the waist.

SherbetDipDap · 02/03/2026 09:00

OP you have a gorgeous figure. You don’t need to hide anything! Your boobs are fantastic, don’t worry about making them look too big 🤣

I have a similar tummy. High waisted wide-leg jeans/trousers and a tucked in fitted top is my go to usually.

Her boobs are also not very big.

My first thought too. I sympathise. Im a 34JJ. And short and fat. Everything makes me look like hattie jacques .

You need to go to bravissimo. Panache envy full cup bras come in a K. They hold you up. Also try elomi Morgan and fantasie reflect.

SideshowAuntSallyxx · 02/03/2026 09:22

You're about the same size as me (I'm a bit taller and boobs slightly smaller).

For me, F&F at Tesco are good for trousers. I bought several pairs the past couple of years ( including a 100% linen pair), they're all wide leg which balance out my boobs and they all come down to my shoes. I wear fitted v neck tshirts and vests because i don't need extra material flapping around. My vests came from Zara and have a square neckline, places like George at Asda and (if they have them) Primark do good fitted v neck tshirts. I'm a cardigan person as I get cold so I have loads in various colours that I chuck on in the summer (nothing big or bulky or frumpy just fine knit waist length but keeps me warm).

I also tend to wear ankle grazers to work in the summer with a plain top (i have some Bravissimo lace back vests), then a pair of suede moccasins (I refuse to wear loafers as they remind me of school shoes).

Dresses that are fitted in the body and then go out flatter more than straight down. My absolute favourite is the Charlotte dress by Bravissimo, if you can find it in your size on ebay/Facebook/vinted grab it.

Jeans are a bastard at the moment, Mom/boyfriend/girlfriend styles don't suit my shape and make my arse and belly look huge (from the crotch down I look okay) and I hate barrel leg. I'm currently wearing mid rise flared from Superdry. They don't envelope the belly like others which I find just accentuates my belly.

Try looking on Vinted and Ebay for Pepperberry/Bravissimo clothes if you want something more dressy. If you find something in Super Duper Curvy (they did do a few styles in that size) it would fit better than Super Curvy.

I feel your pain with bra shopping, it's one of the things I loathe.

JacknDiane · 02/03/2026 09:24

That bra you posted is elomi cate. I find it cuts into the fleshy bit at the top of my boobs too. The elomi morgan probably wont suit you for the same reason, the morgan has elastic at the top line of the cups and it sits into the fleshy bit and gives you 2 boob's. I think the panache envy full cup is your answer. Id go up a back size. Eg try the 36 but stick to the same cup size. Or possibly the 36k might do. I hope you are near a bravissimo and can try them on. John Lewis dont have these sizes in store but they have the panache envy full cup on line, I think up to 36k. Order on line and have a try, send it back if no use.
Where did you get measured?

JacknDiane · 02/03/2026 09:29

Sorry I just checked, jl online and bravissimo instore have the panache envy up to a K. I still think its worth a go, in a 36 back

JacknDiane · 02/03/2026 09:51

Also in bravissimo try a fantasie reflect in 36k. This and the panache have lace with no sewing or elastic at the top of the cup so it doesn't dig in at the top.

Crikeyalmighty · 02/03/2026 10:10

I’ve got similar issues although ‘only’ a 38F up top having lost 2 stone. I tend to wear stretchy skater style dresses that skim over belly with leggings and boots - I never wear jeans if I’m honest as tucked in tops don’t I feel flatter me much - I worry less about fashion, more about flattering - things like this tend to suit me snd I’m 64! With a biker/denim jacket over it and leggings- don’t care if it’s ’not Fashionable’ or a bit ‘young’

The cup size won't be big enough. 36 is also too big, and although I can make it smaller on the band's the positioning of the wires and straps won't be right. My boobs are massive

I'm a similar shape to you and find Zara jeans from Bonmarche fit nicely, they have a bit of stretch in them but aren't the spray on look.
They go up over my belly, 4 different leg lengths and come in 5 different colours.
They also do a few other different styles of jeans.

Bras are a different ball game I'm bigger in the bust than you, for years I was a 42B but having gained weight they've grown with me, so a bit larger now.
I did find that there's a bit of truth in going up a size in the cup measure and down in the under bust.

All my bras come from YOURS, but pre there again it was Bonmarche.

Mysteise · 02/03/2026 10:16

Before you do anything, get yourself a soft tape measure and work out your correct bra size using the Boob or Bust method. I took that advice from people on here and it’s amazing what a proper bra can do for your shape!
So first purchases, a lovely new bra and some new underwear that make you feel better about your tummy. Perhaps something that skims over the tummy area would make you feel good. I would also recommend taking your chest, waist measurement and inner leg length and have a look at some online size charts to work out your new size for tops, trousers and dresses. I say this because during periods of my own weight loss/gain I tend to lose all sight of sizing! I have been a size 18 before trying to squeeze into a 12 because I gained the weight gradually and somehow didn’t realise the severity of the situation! So whatever styles you go for, make sure they fit and hang well. You will look great.
All the best x

I never, ever thought I would buy anything at Hollister in my lifetime, but I was there with DD last year, and on an impulse tried on something called the Livvy high waisted trouser or some such. Gamechanger for a large tummy. And have washed well. I wear them with a boxy tee.

Also I don't think I'm being rude, but I do find it weird that I said I've worn this dress to death but now my stomach is too big and I've got bigger... To be told "it's too small and wrong material". Like I know that, I've already said I've put on weight....

You're being so rude to that poster that is trying to help you. I was going to try to help too but I'll move on I think.

Thanks. I would really appreciate it people didn't focus on my bra size and boobs. I have been through everything, the cup sizes aren't big enough. I'm fine for bras, I've gone through everything.
