Concealing the camel toe 🐫

Only recently bought leggings for the first time for exercise. Any recommendations for hiding the camel toe?

Online searching brings up underwear products that claim to work but all seem a bit dodgy from brands I've not heard of and are either £2 from China or £35 for a single pair of pants.

Has anyone used either the silicone concealers or pants designed for this that work? Or something else, e.g. panty liners.

Are they too tight? Never been a problem for me.

VernitaGreen · 14/02/2026 08:14

To head off some obvious comments:

  1. Yes, I'm sure my leggings are the right size; the issue is because of my natural anatomy rather than ill-fitting clothes.
  1. I'm sure that it would be better if I didn't care about it but I would prefer to smooth the look.

Patterns make it less obvious is my only suggestion.

I can see how some of the smoothing pants might work if youre just wearing them to mooch round the shops but not for running or sweaty gym work.

Fullofthejoysofspring · 14/02/2026 08:17

A panty liner might help?

AuntyBulgaria · 14/02/2026 08:20

Do your leggings have a seam up the front as they are often the cause. There are leggings out there that are designed to avoid this and don't have that seam.

Gettingbysomehow · 14/02/2026 08:23

Only spanx would be thick enough and I wouldn't really want to wear them under leggings. They aren't very comfortable.
Id get some extra long panty liners Ive seen them on sale in supermarkets with some fairly close fitting full briefs such as sloggi which is what I wear. I like the support.
Those silicon anti camel toe devices made out of silicone look awful...so sweaty.
Period pants might be a good bet too as they have a good thick gusset.

Theonlyfatmiddleagedwomannotonmonjaro · 14/02/2026 08:23

If you have a Hollywood, it will make matters of this kind worse. Alot more foliage helps!!

Panty liner may help.

VernitaGreen · 14/02/2026 08:29

I didn't expect to see full bush offered as a solution! @Theonlyfatmiddleagedwomannotonmonjaro

@AuntyBulgaria Seamed probably makes it worse but an issue either way.

@Gettingbysomehow I didn't like the look of the silicone inserts either but would be willing to give it a go if people really rated them. I may look at period pants - good thought. Would have to look up thong versions as I find full briefs uncomfortable.

Appreciate the comments so far and I'll investigate panty liners but I was hoping for recommendations from personal experience. Is this not a problem for anyone else??

Wear a longer top?

DancingNotDrowning · 14/02/2026 08:35

I think it’s inevitable to some extent or another - Lulu lemon have leggings that don’t have a midline seam at the crotch and so I prefer those for comfort but they also offset your concern

Shamalama56 · 14/02/2026 08:35

Urgggh seeing camel toe is gross and I just dont get why you would even bother having to faff around like this just to exercise. Do you think men waste headspace figuring out what underwear to wear to the gym? Just wear trackies if your anatomy doesnt work well with leggings!

You're saying it's gross but also that I shouldn't care or waste headspace on it?

Wear a longer top?

All the teens seem to wear massive oversized hoodies so maybe that's an option.

I just wear normal leggings and wear a longer top. I haven't found any other solution that works and I am not going to change my grooming habits or wear a pad I dont need because of it. I also can't stand baggy clothes.

I just get a short sleeved or sleeveless cotton top that comes down to my hips. Job done.

I always wear shorts over my exercise leggings but thats to cover my less than pert buttocks!

Paaseitjes · 14/02/2026 08:51

If it's just for the gym, running shorts over the top

I've tried those camel toe concealer things and just found them uncomfortable and ridiculous. I've tried all different types of leggings too and they all do it regardless of material so I just gave up and wear a longer top.

At least I'm not alone! A shame those concealers didn't work for you but glad you've found a solution you're comfortable with.

Leggings with oversized hoody or sweater. Once exercising no one will be looking anyway. Silicon inserts or panty liners when exercising are just going to be a recipe for disaster in terms of making you hot/sweaty/uncomfortable.

Thanks. Also, to be honest looking around at the men in my gym who wear those tiny clingy cycling shorts where you can see every damn thing has made me care much less about it anyway 🤣

OtterlyAstounding · 14/02/2026 08:59

Just wear loose shorts like these over top. Easy fix that won't make you too hot!

stickydough · 14/02/2026 09:01

I don’t have an issue with this and keep a full bush!!

Why do you want to hear personal stories about other women's experiences with camel toe, OP? Hmm

Are sensible recommendations to deal with the issue not enough?
