Naomi Watts and Emma Thompson have loads but still look great so what do they use to make their lined and wrinkled skin look so good?

Asking for a friend 😊

I honestly think its just moisture and probably a good skincare routine if they go to events i am sure they get a facial and it all looks plumper and glowy, they might get something aesthetically done but its not over done, and make up.

BusterGonad · 14/12/2025 09:58

I think great skin is about hydration. Inside and out. Oils (skincare) are really good for making your skin look plump and glowing.

Coffeeishot · 14/12/2025 10:01

I really wouldn't rule out these actresses have a tweak here and there.

Oldraver · 14/12/2025 10:11

Another one coming along to say I have no wrinkles at 60 but.....

My skin has always been prone to the greasy side and is very easily inflamed. It's only since the menopause it's dried out and I've started and finally found a moisturizer than doesn't inflame my skin (Badger Balm rose balm,)

I have bags under my eyes, blotchy (I think rosacea) type skin, so lack of wrinkles isn't all it's cracked to be

purplehearts21 · 14/12/2025 10:16

They probably have skin boosters done

Augustus40 · 14/12/2025 10:26

Clinique take the day off cleanser really softens my skin.

DeclineandFall · 14/12/2025 11:07

I'm in my mid 50s and I have friends who are on HRT and those who aren't and I don't think it makes a difference. Best difference I've noted to skin glowiness is a decent collagen supplement and loads of water. To actual wrinkles - good genes, finding new skin care that works for you now and wearing an SPF for years.
Chasing the constant shiney smooth faces doesn't make people look more attractive. Emma Thomson looks far more beautiful than Nicole Kidman.

Mulledjuice · 14/12/2025 11:10

Naomi Watts presumably had sun protection drilled in at an early age - i dont recall ever having seen her with a tanned face.

I use Skin and Me, they start with a low dose and then it increases. You can communicate with the dermatologist if you are having an issue. I have a referral code and you can get your first month for £3.50

Also in my 50s with no wrinkles and very oily skin. I’ve never really used any skincare products.

However I have started to get very saggy.

Yes same, used to have combination dry/oily skin when young, however from 40s on it has just been oily which has its downsides, but no actual wrinkles.
However my face does have more of a saggy, slightly jowly, creased look in my late 50s, which is exactly what you’d expect!

xmasstress12 · 14/12/2025 11:20

what is the difference between a wrinkle & a line? No one on MNs ever seems to have either but I don’t see this represented in real life.

Housewife2010 · 14/12/2025 11:21

I find it impossible to believe that people in their 50's+ have no wrinkles. Not even a single fine line? (Someone will come in in a minute to say that their 92 year old grandmother doesn't have a single one.)

Stucknstoopit · 14/12/2025 11:23

They look no different to my lines/ wrinkles here except my forehead ’11s’ are way more pronounced. I think it’s possible they have regular Botox to keep those lines at bay and everything else is possibly just good skincare , great makeup and camera skills and definitely regular treatments.
I can’t afford treatments, neither time nor money for them but if I could I would

Naomi Watts has botox - says it her book.

Yes I imagine Australians are all about the sunscreen

xmasstress12 · 14/12/2025 11:24

@Housewife2010 I don’t get it either. 😆

AprilinPortugal · 14/12/2025 11:30

Looking at their photos, yes they have some lines but their jowls don't look like they sag. I think that's what ages you most...saggy jowls, rather than wrinkles

IsobellaandthePotofBasil · 14/12/2025 11:34

Not ET. NW might have it on her no. 11s but she has lots of wrinkles which is the point that's getting missed on this thread! I'm not asking about prevention, I'm asking how their skin looks so good with lines and wrinkles.

Sadly I think it's bone structure - there's a reason they're movie stars! ET looks fabulous.

I agree and I dont think many people get away with not being jowly it does catch you eventually.

BigSkies2022 · 14/12/2025 11:41

My cousin is a neighbour of ET and tells me she looks very much older in the flesh. As does Nigella and other beautiful well known women and men. It is great makeup and lighting that brings out the best in them. I’m sure they do good skincare and nutrition and all that too. But it’s the value-adding make up artists and lighting crew.

xmasstress12 · 14/12/2025 11:41

@IsobellaandthePotofBasil but you can get botox & still have lines. The line free face all over with botox is a specific look. They will have access to high tech facials & certainly Naomi in her latest show will have great lighting.

xmasstress12 · 14/12/2025 11:42

Emma does have a very good bone structure which makes a big difference.

ExquisiteDecor · 14/12/2025 11:51

My MIL had no wrinkles to speak of, maybe very fine lines, till the day she died in her 80s. Unfortunately for me my DM is extremely wrinkly, but she has never used much in the way of skincare or SPF, I’m a little slapdash with general skincare in my 50s but have been strict with SPF for the last 20 years or so and it definitely holds things at bay. I developed some wrinkles around the eyes quite early but they haven’t really got much worse. I suspect for the likes of ET it will be good nutrition, top end skincare, micro-needling or similar, excellent make-up. Also their brows and lashes perfect, hair immaculate, it all adds to the overall look and distracts from any wrinkles.
