Naomi Watts and Emma Thompson have loads but still look great so what do they use to make their lined and wrinkled skin look so good?

Asking for a friend 😊

Emma does have a very good bone structure which makes a big difference.

I am not having a go at you specifically, but what does this mean i never know,

Those of you who say you don't have wrinkles ... that's not the point of this thread. I'm talking about women who do have lines and wrinkles - like ET and NW - but their skin looks great.

Neither of them have botox or filler.

How do you know that? They’ve probably both had facelifts and Botox.

ChristmasinBrighton · 14/12/2025 11:55

Yeah it’s mostly bone structure to be fair.

I met Cate Blanchett out shopping recently, in natural light. The woman looked FUCKING RADIANT.

I am another one with oily skin which has helped to minimise my lines and wrinkles I think. I am a healthy weight and that also helps. I do have the nasolabial folds and slight marionette line but I am in my sixties and there’s no defying gravity.

I notice my skin looks utter shite if I drink alcohol.

xmasstress12 · 14/12/2025 11:56

@Coffeeishot high cheekbones & strong jawline

It act as a scaffolding and really helps with holding skin up as you age as ageing causes the face to get longer and sag so it reduces the impact.

NightLightCream · 14/12/2025 11:56

There is no way that all of these film stars, magically look great, with minimal wrinkles.

Ah right thank you.

xmasstress12 · 14/12/2025 12:03

The whole buccal fat removal trend that younger celebs are getting is not going to help ageing.

Littlebuddh · 14/12/2025 12:04

I stopped all skin care products.
I only use e45 and protein jelly.
Wash in baby wash and baby soap and cold water.
And to my amazing amazement it works.

This has been a 2 year trial for me and at 39 I dont look it, i look around 29, I have very little wrinkles compered to 2 year back.

Products that say they can turn back time is a waste of money believe me i tried them.

I have very sensitive skin hence why I use baby soap and baby wash.

I am not having a go at you specifically, but what does this mean i never know,

When you are young your face is plump, when you are older a lot of that goes so things sag - if you have good cheekbones (especially) and a fairly defined jaw your face maintains more shape than if you don't.

ET has been very vocal about her opposition to cosmetic surgery. She says it psychotic. And if she's lying, the surgeon hasn't done a good job.

They have great bone structure.
I really don't have wrinkles- Asian skin- but they look way better.

I'm 66 with peely wally Scottish skin. (Damnit - couldn't have inherited Dad's Eastern European skin, seemingly impervious to sun damage!) I'm telling myself that I earned every single blooming wrinkle and line.

My husband made it to 82 and really didn't look his age. He used to get Americans asking him whether he had any Native American heritage. (He had damned good cheekbones and blue black hair in his youth.)

When we did the family genealogy, we only found Scots and Irish. However, his brother recently did one of those DNA tests and it showed a bit of Polynesian. That might well explain the good skin, I guess.

BlueberryOats · 14/12/2025 12:26

Hyaluronic acid, tret and spf 50.

Stucknstoopit · 14/12/2025 11:23

They look no different to my lines/ wrinkles here except my forehead ’11s’ are way more pronounced. I think it’s possible they have regular Botox to keep those lines at bay and everything else is possibly just good skincare , great makeup and camera skills and definitely regular treatments.
I can’t afford treatments, neither time nor money for them but if I could I would

I've had the forehead lines and 11's since forever...First noticed them when I was about 12. My mum was the same. Skin type and expressions, I guess?

Of course they do. They ustdo it really smartly. Check out these photos. You can see the work ET has had done. She's got great raw material but you can see the lip filler, lip flip, gummy smile and teeth work for a start. The power of great hair and make up too is very clear.

I know everyone on MN claims not to have lines and wrinkles but ...but
YYYDlilah · 14/12/2025 12:43

@IsobellaandthePotofBasil , I look like a bloodhound/shar pei cross, if that helps.

If it wasn't for MN I wouldn't know that there were special names for them - turkey neck (but not turkey teeth), 11s, marionette lines ...

I am free of crow's feet though.

MidnightMeltdown · 14/12/2025 12:48

I don’t think it’s necessarily wrinkles that are aging, it’s skin sag. Maybe they have less of that due to good bone structure.

Almostwelsh · 14/12/2025 12:57

Lighting and posture makes a huge difference. And a lot of photos and videos of celebrities are photoshopped extensively but subtly before release.

Pandasarethebest · 14/12/2025 12:59

IsobellaandthePotofBasil · 14/12/2025 05:06

ET certainly has great bone structure. But other than that they are using something that makes their skin look great and I'm asking if anyone can make suggestions as to what it is.

I really thought you meant ET (phone home!) I'm very tired. Made me laugh though

worzelgummidgestyle · 14/12/2025 13:03

No disrespect to ET, I absolutely adore her as an actress, but I dont think she does look that great.

I recently saw her in the film Winter (2025) and I was totally shocked by how old and wrinkled she looked. Now, maybe that was because I havent seen her in anything recently or I am used to seeing her in older films such as love actually, I dont know but I was genuinely surprised by her appearance. Dont get me wrong, I am not judging her for this or saying she should have work done, she is fine as she is but I was shocked nevertheless by her appearance.

Coffeeishot · 14/12/2025 13:05

Emma Thomson is old though and you probably saw what she actually looks like.

Coffeeishot · 14/12/2025 13:05

Yes, I think so too. Perhaps it shocked me also because its so unusual to see actresses that havent had work done so it kind of stood out more

YYYDlilah · 14/12/2025 13:09

I look like a wrinkly ET. (Not Ms Thompson)

BestIsWest · 14/12/2025 13:09

ET is 66 so not young but I wouldn’t call her old! Old is 86.

In Down Cemetery Road she had plenty of wrinkles but still looked great.

Yeah to be fair I dont consider her "old" either but her skin looked pretty wrecked and quite damaged

Diet is a huge factor

That and not smoking or drinking

Plenty of fresh air, water and sleep

No excessive sun exposure
