The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

Could I be cheeky and ask roughly what you paid for those 3 as those 3 items and 2 more are what I actually want out of space nk so trying to decide if I would spend as much on vinted searching for those than just buying the calendar? I am still hopeful that I get harrods but haven’t had confirmation so maybe should just buy space x

i was dithering on Liberty for ages to go with Harrods BAC but decided against it in the end and am just going to stick with H. However I am contemplating on signing up for BD to save up the credit for 2026 - of course the other discount is worth it too but wondering what the seasonal boxes are like?

I've ordered the Liberty men's AC as there's quite a lot of stuff in there I liked and I'll sell what I don't - although Mr. Rainbows may get a couple of goodies. I do like Liberty as a brand and I think they do the best boxes/calendars out of everyone. I'm particularly looking forward to trying the Bibbi Vanilla.

@IDontHateRainbows I really wish that I’d looked at the men’s calendar before I bought the main one as I think it contains some really nice things - I woukd probably use more from the men’s calendar ths. The one I’ve got. I may cave in when I get my next reward voucher if it hasn’t sold out.

Oh also, I was at the airport this morning so I did some perfume testing. The Le Labo thé noir is okay, although I think I prefer the matcha thé. I was very disappointed in the eucalyptus, it didn't last on me at all and was basically just like a weak Olbas Oil.

The matcha one is in the Brown Thomas calendar although a PP told me they probably don't ship outside Ireland.

I find the Le Labo Eucalyptus quite strange. When I spray it I smell very little, but then I get the reverse of what usually happens, with the scent getting stronger and stronger over the next hour or so. Still can’t decide whether I like it or not.

I’m a big fan of The Noir, but appreciate it is fairly unusual and definitely unisex, so may not have mass appeal.

The only place they ship outside Ireland is NI.

If you're meaning me, I don't frequently buy and sell 🤣 I've only just signed up to vinted, I didn't even have the idea to buy and sell on there until I started chatting on these threads. I also don't claim to have any expert knowledge on beauty, fragrances etc. I've learnt so much from being on here for only a few weeks, mainly that I am completely wrong about what people like 🤣

I was excited about getting H&B after loving it last year however I’m a bit disappointed by the contents this year, and I won’t be buying (unless reduced by a lot). A few of the products are repeated, including a scalp massager!

I can’t justify more than around £50 on a calendar this year as we’re planning a big holiday next year; I might see if there’s a beauty box out there that appeals, or treat myself to an item or two that I really want.

You could maybe look at a couple of beauty edits , next , jl or even subscribe to Liberty just for the Oct box . Coupled if with some fillers you've got yourself a lovely homemade Bac within budget

One other option besides selling them is to donate them. They could go to:

• a DV shelter
• a residential unit for female offenders or those now on licence / probation
• Christmas stocking collection for teenagers who won't get presents otherwise
• a beauty bank if there's one near you

Selling may be the preferred choice but there are alternatives where they won't get wasted as well.

As someone who usually sells off their unwanted items, I actually really like these ideas.
How would I go about finding where to donate to these places?

That sounds great, I might have used my stash by then and be able to justify getting one!

Last year I had a big stash, partly from an Advent calendar (I did look ahead of time and took out the things I knew I wouldn't use*) and partly from a goodie bag that I got at Stylist Live. I went onto my local Facebook group and asked if someone wanted some goodies for a school fayre or tombola or the like and someone said yes please and came round to collect.

*this did mean that when I was opening it in December I had some empty drawers which was a bit sad.

I love the term girl gift idea as they never get presents in the charity collections

I’ve ordered the LF grooming advent for DS1 he will love it. Now I need to select the one I want.

ReallyRee has just posted on insta an unboxing of Elle and it's making me want it again. Maybe I can get a few things to go in my Frankenstein calendar (that's it's new name now 🤣) from Vinted. I seem obsessed with blushers at the moment.

My unwanted items go

Sell (ebay/ vinte
Give to mates/ relatives/ daughter
If still left, I work for a charity and they regularly do raffles and tombolas so they end up there

Last year I was pretty good at selling unwanted items on ebay and recouping my costs but ebay is a bit dead and vinted you don't tend to get as much.
