estellacandance · 09/09/2025 10:00

I haven’t seen a princessing thread for ages.

I feel like my self care has been sidelined this year.
My skin, weight and mental health have suffered the most.

So my list to prioritise:
Bed by 11, sleep by midnight
Remove make up at night
Night cream/retinol
Use my LED machines!
Hyaluronic serum in the morning
More frequent & thorough teethbrushing & use whitener.
Have water with me all the time
Take vitamins/supplements with my breakfast.
Daily stretches/yoga inc breath work
Outdoors every day, more forest bathing/blue space.
Drink green tea
Daily smoothie, raw veg & more fruit.
Weekly coconut hair mask.
Pelvic floor exercises 3 times a day
Morning Pages
Read from a book every evening
Squats amap
DIY mani/pedi inc self reflexology/Shiatsu
Reduce UHP foods/drinks
Daily relaxation/meditation with music/incense

Who wants to join?

What are your goals?

This is cute.

I'm probably just going to do the same as I did last year, and promise to improve whenever I have a hangover.

I'm more swamp witch than princess.

Definitely need to give myself more care, I feel dry, haggard and tired.

I'm keeping mine simple:

Bed by 11 (hard for me)
Drink more water - at least 1.5 L
Use tret every evening
Have an "everything shower" once a week where I also moisturise and do nails
Weights or jog 5 X week (currently doing nothing)

Imagineallthepuppies · 09/09/2025 17:29

I love a good princessing thread! Well done @estellacandance

I’ll go for some of yours with some tweaks! Some I already do such as bedtime, meditation, yoga/pilates, green tea, reading but won’t hurt to add it to the list.

Bed by 10 (I am an early bird)
Remove make up at night
AM and PM face care
Use my shark mask daily
2 litres water daily
Take vitamins/supplements
3 x yoga/pilates each week
Outdoors every day (even 10 minutes)
Continue to drink green tea
Reduce morning coffee to 2 cups a day
Daily tumeric, ginger and orange shot
Weekly hair mask and face mask
Read a chapter of my book daily
Attend gym at least once a week
Continue daily meditation
use nail strengthened daily!
core workout 3 x weekly

Oh weights, I forgot about that! Thanks for the reminder! What’s tret?

I could do with this too. I had a week’s holiday recently and really got on top of skincare, need to hold on to the improvement !

Goals
Drink water or herbal tea at work
Take my lunch break
Get outside sometimes even
Bed by 11
Night cream
Morning cleanse and moisturise
Sort out a capsule makeup bag and use it.
Go through beauty products and use the best things up first.
Bath with hair mask and physical book once a week.
Put effort into outfits, with jewellery & accessories.
Dress up at weekend instead of scruffs. Don’t save things for best.
Cull the underwear drawer. Zero tolerance. Hostile environment for tragic keks.
Keep doing morning vitamins.
Keep doing more whole foods.
Keep reading for pleasure. DNF dull books. More pap, more fantasy, more nonsense.
Dig CDs out for the car and have raucous singalongs on the commute.

Love this. Yes, let's start at the same time.

What about next Monday (15th)? Gives us time to pull together our lists and psych ourselves up for it, without leaving it too long. Or weekend if easier.

Doseydots · 10/09/2025 12:04

15th sounds good to me 😊

LBB2020 · 10/09/2025 19:09

I’m in too!

Sailawaysally · 11/09/2025 09:50

I’m up for this.

I would to lose half a stone before the party season and tone up, so…
Pilates twice a week
Home weights 3 times a week.
More water, less booze and caffeine.
Only buy mince pies, quality street and Christmas snacky bits in December. DO NOT buy in September and then stuff my face for the next 3 months

No gel nails until next year - give my nails a rest, but keep them shaped and polished
Vit d, b, milk thistle and multi vit each day
Take make up off at night. Chuck most of my very old makeup.
Use my skin + me prescription. Don’t just order it and forget about it!
Declutter ( an ongoing project). Get rid of all my size 16’s and baggy/scruffy 14’s. Chuck all shoes/boots that are not comfortable, however pretty they are.

That should do for now…

Doseydots · 11/09/2025 17:23

if we start in Monday, it will take us right to Christmas Eve which is exciting. Here is my list so far. I am working on my wellbeing too, I may add more before Monday:

Make up everyday
No S diet
Always carry water with me
7 hours sleep every night
Exercise everyday
Journal everyday
Meditate everyday
Smile and laugh everyday
No screens after 8pm
Everything shower (pinched from a pp) once a week

GameOfJones · 11/09/2025 18:58

Yes to reading more fantasy and nonsense @PinballWizened! I got into romantasy novels in a big way this year and I'm now reading every night before bed. I flipping love them and don't care if some people think they're tosh.

Here is my list:

Keep consistent with my skincare routine.

Continue weekly walks and yoga.

Go on my exercise bike at least twice a week.

Continue intermittent fasting.

I'll join in with the weekly everything shower to keep on top of shaving and exfoliation.

Keep my nails filed and painted with nail strengthener.

Take my vitamins every day.

Eat more fruit and vegetables.

PinballWizened · 11/09/2025 19:54

@Sailawaysally I’ll join you in solidarity with the no Christmas food before December plan. It’s wise to make the resolution now, not wait to be ambushed unexpectedly by a festive bake.

@GameOfJones what are you reading? I got the throne of glass series for Christmas last year but keep getting derailed by other things

estellacandance · 12/09/2025 09:31

I just cracked on. It will definitely help to have company.

I’ve been good on the vitamins & raw veg. I read 3 chapters of a book in bed last night & put on a face mask. (I have loads of packs of them to use up!)

I even washed my make up brushes.

But I’ve not been outside and other tasks have been intermittent.

stayathomer · 12/09/2025 09:54

I joined a princess of thread before and did nothing so have to jump onto this- sleep, step outside before I start doing all the morning stuff, get beauty routine back up (have run out of a lot of care stuff!), drink at least a litre of water a day, exfoliate, moisturise and do some form of extra exercise (at the mo it’s just work and walking the dog then the general running about!!). Biggest thing will be to get back to the beauticians with some vouchers I have, haven’t waxed anything in years and I’d love a massage and exfoliating experience!!!

Also basin out for regular foot soaks (haven’t done that in years either!!)

And thank you for this!

petitpasta · 12/09/2025 10:12

I'm in!

Established a few good routines on a previous princessing thread - morning skincare, culling wardrobe regularly, minimal news exposure, audio books, diet, also gave up booze and lost nearly 7 stone!

Now need to :

Establish a proper wind down routine as I tend to crash into bed exhausted. Quite fancy being one of those people that lights a candle and does skincare and reads before bed.

Need to establish proper night time skincare. Morning is great but evening tends to be just make up removal then stop.

Bed by 11, lights out by 11.30

Get better at drinking water at the weekend. Easy in the week when my water bottle is on my desk, just need to create a habit of having a water bottle with me on Saturday and Sunday.

Wear the dresses and skirts that I have and love rather than always reaching for trousers.

Related to above - go back to planning outfits, even down to accessories and underwear, for the week on Sunday night. Used to do this and it was so helpful, don't know why I ever stopped.

Continue with the 4 gym classes a week I started over summer - and make use of the online classes I have access to when life gets in the way. Also try to swim more. I love swimming and now my mad menopausal hair has gone really curly it's so much easier to wash and leave it to air dry.

Also continue to drink breakfast smoothie outside unless it's raining. It's a habit I've enjoyed over the summer and I think the daylight exposure helps as I WFH in a north facing room. Just need to put a warm blanket by the kitchen doors so I can take it out with me.

I bought a Christmas themed sewing kit last September and didn't finish it in time. This year I am determined those hand made angels will be on my tree! Reducing phone time will help and my new found love of audio books should help too.

Finally, inspired by pps, no Christmas food in the house until December!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/09/2025 10:24

Jumping in:

Hair cut probably November ( my hair doesn't grow quickly but needs the ends trimmed )
Hair dye ( I do my own, semi permeant)
Use nail buffer (cannot wear polish )

In the next few days I am planning:
wax armpits
Epilate legs
Dye hair
Face mask
Dye eyebrows

Sort out clothes and put my summer clothes in vacuum pack bags

I already drink loads of water and don't smoke/drink
Bought a new shower oil to try out ( and hopefully won't fall in the shower !)
Use body scrubber cloth and rubbery skin brush

GameOfJones · 12/09/2025 14:05

@PinballWizened Throne of Glass is still on my to read list. I did love ACOTAR but I'm waiting for the Kindle bundle to come down in price.

I've enjoyed quite a few romantasy novels this year. I really liked Phantasma (trials set by devils) and liked the second book Enchantra I enjoyed even more (basically a spicy game of hide and seek 🤣). I also liked The Wolf King and The Night Prince (Outlander meets werewolves.)

@petitpasta I was like that with night time skincare too. I got into a good habit of doing it earlier in the evening. When I get home from work I tend to jump in the shower and then get into my pyjamas/lounge clothes. I now keep a bottle of face wash in the shower so I do my cleansing step there and when I get out just towel dry then whack on my toner, serum and moisturiser. It only takes a couple of minutes but I'm more likely to do it earlier in the evening than just before bed.

I've forgotten to take my vitamins for two days in a row so not doing so well on that front! I'll make a concerted effort over the weekend to princess a bit more since I've got more time.

petitpasta · 13/09/2025 00:41

@GameOfJonesthat's a great idea for evening skin care. I will try doing it earlier when I am less knackered. Keeping facial wash in the shower is something I've never thought of...although it's really obvious that it's going to help 🤦‍♀️

estellacandance · 13/09/2025 01:05

I had no water at all today but did take vitamins, ate raw baby spinach & pushed my cuticles down with cream & a stick and painted my nails.

Did some clothes sorting- summer stuff needs packed away.

PinballWizened · 13/09/2025 13:06

Thanks @GameOfJones for the suggestions, not on my library app so would not have heard of them otherwise!

I’ve culled the underwear drawer and sent an uninspiring non fiction book to the charity shop to stop myself slogging through it. I’m wearing newish jeans and a top for an at home day.

Bought a beauty advent calendar, not had one before, last year I dithered and ended up with nothing.

The plan now is roast up some plums and make a nutty granola to have with plain yogurt, as a wholesome treat for the week.

My face wash also lives in the shower!

GameOfJones · 13/09/2025 17:09

I have just had my "everything shower" and think I'll definitely try to stick to doing it once a week. As well as the usual washing my hair and body I also used a sugar scrub to exfoliate and I shaved.

I have then slathered myself with moisturiser from head to toe. Serums on my face, body lotion and a foot cream. I'm now sitting on the sofa marinating and feeling pleased with myself 🤣.

I have however only had half a glass of water so far today so am off to drink some more.

Doseydots · 13/09/2025 19:45

I have been practicing some of my list today, ready for Monday. Most of the things in my list I do adhoc , I just need to implement them
into a daily routine
