Which wedding dress- or neither?!

Hello! I had a thread a while back where I asked for help finding my wedding dress. (2nd wedding for me, 1st for DP- swore he’d never get married)
Ideally I wanted sparkles- the more the better! And not fitted! Had some excellent suggestions, tried loads but ended up
getting a proper fitted (eek!) lace gown- no sparkles!

I don’t think think it’s the one. I think I got swept away and bought too soon and honestly, when I look back at the pictures, I don’t think it’s flattering. I’m all tummy and hips. I know I should be more body positive, but some skims or go on the jabs… but I can’t shake that image out my head

Was out with DP at the weekend and we saw a couple getting married. She was in a pink Needle and Thread. She looked gorgeous and glowing. DP knows I’m agonising over what to wear and pointed her out telling me to just wear the best dress. It didn’t matter if it was a wedding dress or coloured. It should just be the best dress imaginable.

I had a look on N&T, ordered several and love this one. My daughter says I look like Elsa. I love the shape it gives, the sleeves are beyond, DP loves me in blue….
But I need some validation from internet strangers!

Which is better??( Dress is Comet Ankle Gown on N&T if anyone wants close up
pics!)

I am undecided on shoes as yet! Will wait for the dress.
Funny that you have said I am petite- I'm nearly 5ft 8! The angle of the pictures must be off. It was my daughter taking them - she's not the best photographer!

I remember your original thread, we actually did find a “sequinned t-shirt dress” for you as per your original brief - it was hideous, so I’m glad you didn’t get it, but it did meet the brief!!

Please wear the Elsa dress! It’s fabulous, but more to the point it’s clear you feel fabulous in it. Plus it really suits your figure, and I also love the way it frames your back tattoo. Go for it, and have a fabulous day!

SorenLorensonsInvisibleFriend · 26/06/2025 11:05

Oh, that’s not fair. You look absolutely beautiful in both. I love the white sparkling one but your body language is joyful in the second.

White for the ceremony, Elsa for the party!

MellowPinkDeer · 26/06/2025 11:07

The coloured one is absolutely bloody sensational. Go for that!

Darlingstarlings · 26/06/2025 11:09

Oh I think the aqua dress is gorgeous on you, even though the picture your daughter took doesn't do it justice. Had a look on the site and the aqua one is the nicest hands down. It looks fab on you and I see no issue with the length.

captainflash · 26/06/2025 11:09

@MadameSzyszkoBohusz -I didn't get the glittery t'shirt! I at least listened to you all on that!
I did get a Fumbalinas glittery kaftan for my hen off the back of that thread though.

The sparkly green ish one is absolutely gorgeous when I got married 11 yrs ago I got two dresses of Ebay a Ronald Joyce and a Sophia tolli both cost £50 original cost was £1500 I'd lost my dad the years before my wedding and simply didn't have the money or anyone offer to come dress shopping with me I wore one dress and after the wedding sent both off to a sleeping baby charity all the very best for your wedding

Daisyvodka · 26/06/2025 11:15

That blue/green one has absolutely taken my breath away - please please wear it! You look lovely in both but you look ALIVE in the green, what a fabulous memorable dress with personality. If I am being totally honest, the white is pretty but dated. And looks like any other wedding dress. The green is full of joy!

Jean8 · 26/06/2025 11:46

Goodness me OP, the Elsa is stunning on you!

Jean8 · 26/06/2025 11:55

Also, I really wish I went for a freeing ankle length dress rather than shuffling around awkwardly all day in a floor length one. The bottom is ruined! And nobody could see my beautiful (and v expensive!) shoes so they were a waste of money.

I’m actually pretty jealous I didn’t see something just like the champagne N&T one when I got married - although your colour is way nicer! (Just wanted to get married in a light colour at the time.)

MadKittenWoman · 26/06/2025 12:02

The N & T one or the Marchesa Notte is gorgeous!

isthismylifenow · 26/06/2025 12:28

I don't think you need to carry on looking really.

I absolutely adore Elsa on you.

Just as an aside, I have no boobs and was trying to figure out which neckline suited me the most. And I had no definite answer as v-neck, high neck, round neck really just all look quite similar on me. But the moment I saw the photo of you wearing the Indigo with the round neck, it was just so obvious that the v-neck style is so much more flattering with those who do have a bit more boobage than me.

I even think the green colour is perfect, you really do not have to wear white or cream on the day.

DramaAlpaca · 26/06/2025 12:33

Another vote for the Elsa. It's stunning on you. I adore the deep V back.

Iloveshihtzus · 26/06/2025 12:58

OP, I too love the Elsa and as others have noted, you look so happy in it. I personally love the length.

Trickedbyadoughnut · 26/06/2025 13:26

I absolutely love the Elsa on you and you may never have another occasion to wear such a beautiful sparkly dress! Do it!

GameOfJones · 26/06/2025 13:34

I am very jealous of the Elsa dress.... please wear it!

My only regret for my wedding is I went with a "traditional" ivory bridal gown. I didn't want to, I wanted a long sleeved glittery evening gown but my mum convinced me that I'd regret it if I didn't wear a "proper" wedding dress.

She was wrong. It just wasn't me and I spent the day feeling uncomfortable although objectively I looked perfectly nice.

Wear the Elsa.... it's fantastic.

MiddleAgedDread · 26/06/2025 13:51

The white isn't doing you any favours.
The Elsa fits you well but I just feel like it's more of a 5yr old's party dress than a bridal dress. If it makes you happy though, wear it!

Allseeingallknowing · 26/06/2025 14:13

Elsa for me too, elegant and special- it really suits you.

JaneJeffer · 26/06/2025 14:18

Definitely the sparkly one

You must have been to some strange five year old’s parties! It’s a beautiful grown-up dress.

WitchOfSomorrostro · 26/06/2025 15:03

Oh OP, the white dress is awful, sorry. It fits you, but it's very dated, looks cheap, shiny (in a worst way) and nasty.

However, the other one is brilliant, looks great on you and you seem to be so happy wearing it - go for it! I'd prefer full length tbh, but doesn't matter, it looks great as it is and suits you.

Wedding dresses don't have to be white, wear whatever you want and feel good in. I'd go for the red Marchesa one personally, very dramatic, very 'me' 😁, but I understand it's not for everyone.

greengreyblue · 26/06/2025 16:09

Wedding dresses can be any length so bemused by those saying it’s too short!

I’d totally ignore comments about it being too short. Floor length with this fit and it’d look a bit too full and a bit Glinda from the Wizard of Oz imo. It’s absolutely gorgeous just as it is! 🔥

Toddlerteaplease · 26/06/2025 16:52

I like both but the green looks better and covers the tattoos. Which spoil the look of the white dress.

Fifthtimelucky · 26/06/2025 16:52

The Elsa dress is absolutely fantastic. Much more flattering than the white one.
