Which wedding dress- or neither?!

Hello! I had a thread a while back where I asked for help finding my wedding dress. (2nd wedding for me, 1st for DP- swore he’d never get married)
Ideally I wanted sparkles- the more the better! And not fitted! Had some excellent suggestions, tried loads but ended up
getting a proper fitted (eek!) lace gown- no sparkles!

I don’t think think it’s the one. I think I got swept away and bought too soon and honestly, when I look back at the pictures, I don’t think it’s flattering. I’m all tummy and hips. I know I should be more body positive, but some skims or go on the jabs… but I can’t shake that image out my head

Was out with DP at the weekend and we saw a couple getting married. She was in a pink Needle and Thread. She looked gorgeous and glowing. DP knows I’m agonising over what to wear and pointed her out telling me to just wear the best dress. It didn’t matter if it was a wedding dress or coloured. It should just be the best dress imaginable.

I had a look on N&T, ordered several and love this one. My daughter says I look like Elsa. I love the shape it gives, the sleeves are beyond, DP loves me in blue….
But I need some validation from internet strangers!

Which is better??( Dress is Comet Ankle Gown on N&T if anyone wants close up
pics!)

I would say neither. But of the 2, the green one is better. The white is immensely unflattering.

AmyDuPlantier · 25/06/2025 22:41

The Elsa one is too…Elsa for me. Also looks more appropriate for a winter wedding due to the colour I think. Looks a bit like playing dress up.

YES! I was just idly contemplating if I had any reason to buy it but have drawn a blank sadly 😆 there’s also a v neck one let me see if I can find it

pumicepumy · 25/06/2025 22:44

Love the N&T

Oh it’s doing that review images thing but it’s the tulle floral print organza gown

Lemon1111 · 25/06/2025 22:47

N&T 💯!

MadCattery · 25/06/2025 22:48

I went to the website to see it showing up blue and also can see the sparkles clearer. It is so beautiful, I don't know why you would even ask. It is PERFECT and you knew that, too! Hope you have a lovely wedding and a "happily ever after".

Goingawayistricky · 25/06/2025 22:51

I vote neither too. Both a bit try hard and fusty.
Neither look like special dresses (although the green one is getting there) more like dressing because you have to.
You don’t need a wedding dress just something a bit more “you”.

i know a dressmaker- I will ask about the length!

Not the white, it’s too white. Like fake teeth!

I love the N&T one, but I’d love it even more with just a bit more length. So defo speak to your dressmaker.

I haven’t got a better picture of the white one. I have a video but I can’t crop my face out there 😂 I deleted the other pictures I have. I agree it is an odd shine in that picture.

I also did wonder about the length of the Elsa (which is a Bluey Green) The details are gorgeous, I love the sleeves….
But it might not be the right one either. I prefer. It to the white but don’t know if it’s THE ONE
Happy for other suggestions! Again!

So maybe if you can afford it - both? White one for the wedding and the green one for the reception? Gorgeous.

BrightLightTonight · 25/06/2025 22:57

Your wedding, at therefore wear the dress that makes you happy. Personally, I don’t like the white dress, but you need to wear something that makes you smile, and bugger everyone else's opinion

EllieEllie25 · 25/06/2025 22:59

Definitely the Elsa dress! You'll be able to wear it again at a posh do, it's very flattering on your waist, and you look happy in it. The white dress is fine but I think you would feel awkward / uncomfortable in it all day.

SheridansPortSalut · 25/06/2025 23:00

I vote Elsa.

TheJinxMinx · 25/06/2025 23:04

I like the needle and thread one however they have it in champagne id probably go for that. If you love blue then stick to the else one all down to preference but you just feel and look more confident and happy in that one

GetDressedYouMerryGentlemen · 25/06/2025 23:08

Anything other than the white one. It's not a nice dress and it is not flattering. 'Elsa' if you love it or keep searching for something better in ivory/cream etc if you want something more bridal.

Olivesforteatonighty · 25/06/2025 23:11

The Elsa dress, it looks gorgeous. Have a great day.

StartupRepair · 25/06/2025 23:33

Love the Elsa dress. The colour, the sparkles.

Walklightly · 25/06/2025 23:54

Green one. Definitely. Beautiful!

murasaki · 25/06/2025 23:56

You look joyous in the Elsa one, so go for it.

TheWibble · 26/06/2025 00:04

N&T dress! It's a beautiful dress and looks gorgeous on you. It really suits your figure, and you can tell from the pics that you look comfortable and "yourself".

AnOldCynic · 26/06/2025 00:04

I think the length on the Elsa dress is fine. Wedding dresses don’t have to be floor length, terribly impractical and a bugger to find an event to wear it again.

I can see you partying at your first wedding anniversary in it at again 😆. Go for it.

Kwean · 26/06/2025 00:21

captainflash · 25/06/2025 22:36

oohh thats magnificent - def not too much - especially at the end of Oct red would work better for an autumn winter wedding.

The 'acquamarine' as its described on N&T is nice - but the length seems a compromise? Also the sleeves look good when flapping about - but when down by yourside as per photos and ceremony just add lots of width/bulk to the silhouette - cant see this in your photos but can with the models online. The colour might be 'chilly' for that time of year. If you could push the sleeves back over the shoulders running down the back (like old school SCD dresses) it would lift everything.

Huge congratulations. Mkae sure you feel fabulous for you.

DiscoBeat · 26/06/2025 00:25

The N&T one! But the blue one rather than the green is the best imo!
