Which wedding dress- or neither?!

Hello! I had a thread a while back where I asked for help finding my wedding dress. (2nd wedding for me, 1st for DP- swore he’d never get married)
Ideally I wanted sparkles- the more the better! And not fitted! Had some excellent suggestions, tried loads but ended up
getting a proper fitted (eek!) lace gown- no sparkles!

I don’t think think it’s the one. I think I got swept away and bought too soon and honestly, when I look back at the pictures, I don’t think it’s flattering. I’m all tummy and hips. I know I should be more body positive, but some skims or go on the jabs… but I can’t shake that image out my head

Was out with DP at the weekend and we saw a couple getting married. She was in a pink Needle and Thread. She looked gorgeous and glowing. DP knows I’m agonising over what to wear and pointed her out telling me to just wear the best dress. It didn’t matter if it was a wedding dress or coloured. It should just be the best dress imaginable.

I had a look on N&T, ordered several and love this one. My daughter says I look like Elsa. I love the shape it gives, the sleeves are beyond, DP loves me in blue….
But I need some validation from internet strangers!

Which is better??( Dress is Comet Ankle Gown on N&T if anyone wants close up
pics!)

The Elsa one is too…Elsa for me. Also looks more appropriate for a winter wedding due to the colour I think. Looks a bit like playing dress up.

It's her wedding. She is playing dress up!

I'm briefly charmed by the idea of everyone swishing around their daily lives in large, ornate frocks and morning suits but, well, we don't do that any more except for dress-up events, do we? (Thank god. Imagine the laundry!)

Guavafish1 · 26/06/2025 00:48

Green

wandawaves · 26/06/2025 01:51

Oooh the Elsa one is awesome! The blue one is lovely, but any colour i think is great.
I do agree though if it could be a tad longer, it would be perfect.

Definitely not the white bridal dress. No.

Milosc · 26/06/2025 02:07

I think they both look lovely on you. But if you aren't sure, have you thought about something like this? My friend had a similar gown at her wedding in January and it was stunning.for a winter wedding.

none of them. The green ones make you look bigger than you actually are and the colour is not very bridal. The white one looks fantastic fit wise (you have a gorgeous figure) but you don’t seem v happy with the lack of sparkles so I’d be going back to the drawing board.

This one 'indigo' - yes I agree - its much richer than the acquamarine and the deeper colour would suit the season better.

For me, neither. The white one is too tight but generally awful even if it weren't, and I don't like superman/superwoman cape sleeves but of the options this indigo is the best. I like the lenghth of the N&T dress.

I’m obsessed. What can I wear it to 😂

sashh · 26/06/2025 04:58

Elsa dress without a doubt.

onehorserace · 26/06/2025 06:46

It's saying a bit Tinkerbell to me - however it is your wedding and your second wedding where you get to wear what you really want so maybe it fits you and your personality? That's what's important. I'm really not keen on the white one sorry.

Farkinhell · 26/06/2025 06:52

The N&T dress is beautiful. Perfectly fits your sparkles and not too fitted reqs.

It's lovely. Go for it.

greengreyblue · 26/06/2025 06:56

The green/ blue one.

Theextraordinaryisintheordinary · 26/06/2025 06:59

Elsa

captainflash · 26/06/2025 07:01

Morning all! I am very happy to be told the white one is awful, unflattering, turkey teeth shiny….. I got carried away in the moment. Hence my doubts and still wanting to look at pretty frocks

Thank you for the other suggestions and nice comments. Florals aren’t really me and the one suggested by @Milosc feels more dress up / Tinkerbell to me. I can’t really explain why.
I have done extensive scanning of the N&T website and did try some others. A one shouldered icy blue, a champagne one and an indigo. The aquamarine suited my skin tone best. Champagne wasn’t great and the icy blue was too pale.
I’ll attach a pic of the indigo- not the right style in this one. I felt it a bit too dark for me. DP will also wear navy so worried it would be too matchy matchy.

have also added a pic of the back of the Elsa. I like how it frames my back. I’m wearing an awful old bra and normal pants so think a ‘foundation garment’ would help! It’s also still 4 months away so have time to feel a bit better and move more. Bloody peri 🙄

The green dress is gorgeous and you clearly love it, going by the pictures! The white dress isn't very flattering on you, if I am honest. Go for the green dress (or it might be blue!). You don't have to wear white, cream or ivory. Go for what you like and feel comfortable wearing.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 26/06/2025 07:07

That green dress is gorgeous. I wish I had an excuse to buy it!

WinWhenTheyreSinging · 26/06/2025 07:08

The white is dreadful, and you’ll obviously be very happy to write it off yourself. I love the Elsa, and seems perfect for the venue.

Funderthighs · 26/06/2025 07:10

The Elsa dress is very flattering on you and looks gorgeous. I’d say it’s “the one”.

KatiesbigsisterSue · 26/06/2025 07:11

elsa 100% - especially having seen the back! It’s gorgeous on you.

myplace · 26/06/2025 07:12

The Elsa is gorgeous. Don’t let someone else’s idea of perfection spoil your enjoyment of a fabulous dress!

Lafufufu · 26/06/2025 07:15

Haven't rtft
Just your comments (where it sounds like people arent into the elsa dress)

I think it looks wonderful even with 100 yr old bra and granny pants.. (front and back)

Like honestly wonderful.

Firstly the dress is beautiful.
Secondly even without seeing your face your body says hurray!!! Im happily!!!

I reallllly hope you keep it as it very cclearly "sparks joy"

HopingForTheBest25 · 26/06/2025 07:16

The Elsa is gorgeous. I'm sorry but I really don't like the white dress - at best it's ordinary. And more important than any of our opinions is that you don't love it. And you absolutely should love your wedding dress!

myplace · 26/06/2025 07:17

In fact, don’t let your own pursuit of perfection spoil anything. Joyful is enough

Neededa · 26/06/2025 07:22

I really love the Elsa for you. It fits your brief of sparkles and not too fitted. Your body language in first photos is joyful. Please stop second guessing yourself, there are no rules, you obviously are happy with it, be happy.
