Sainsbury’s jeans 😲

My mate was wearing a lovely pair of barrel leg jeans so I asked her where she got them. Sainsbury’s, she says, £22. So I went and got some for myself. First day out in them today and another woman asked where I got them, said they looked really nice on. And I wore them all day and they’re the same size now as when I put them on (marginally more relaxed but they haven’t grown a couple of sizes like jeans sometimes do).

Very impressed. When did this happen to Sainsbury’s? Are there other gems in the Tu department that I should look out for??

Thank you for the recommendation- I bloody love my new jeans!!! I would never have even tried a pair on in that style but they are so flattering and so comfy. And only £22!!!! ☺️ very happy ☺️

I got the Tu black corduroy midi skirt a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it! The quality of the fabric is superb.

(Not like the corduroy shirt I bought from George and had to send back because it was like a cobweb 😬)

Another one who's ordered a pair, thanks OP- and also when I went to order I saw that the boots I've had my eye on for ages were finally back in stock in my size after months of not. Fate!

I haven't used them but I've also heard good things about their bras. I just can't face the idea of buying them, taking home, trying on, returning.... But maybe i will after this thread. haha.

I've had loads of jeans from Sainsbury's over the years. They have been amazing value for money and always seem to look quite decent.

Well I bought some at lunch time today and have just tried them on and they look awful on me! I bought the relaxed barrel ones (£24) from sainsburys in a size 8. They made me look massive 🙁 I’m taking the straight back for a refund tonight.

I think some people think 'looking small/er' or 'showing my body shape to best advantage' is the pinnacle of a winning clothing item. Many people don't subscribe to this notion.

Well they make me look big and dumpy. Not shapely in a nice way. Totally hide any waist. But that’s just my opinion 🤷‍♀️

I agree and avoid buying clothes that are not flattering to my figure, pointless but that's my opinion. I work hard keeping my figure, i don't want to hide in large, shapeless clothing.

Oh, I've got this! Also miles better than my more expensive corduroy.

A double breasted blue velvet blazer and matching wide leg trousers
Gym leggings with a proper pocket

Asda George do the BEST skinny black jeans for the longer of leg.

Yes I know super skinny isn't remotely fashionable any more but I like them and hence being delighted to find some still in the shops and being a decent fit too!

They're labelled as Wonderfit.

The jeans were reduced to £15 btw!

They ate two sizes, 8-10, 10-12, 12-14. What would you recommend? I'm a 12.

What shoes do you wear with barrel leg jeans. I’ve ordered some Tu ones too (I bet they can’t believe the sales!) but the models have bare feet!

I wear my short boots (like blundstone boots) but as it warms and dries up I will wear them with trainers and then sandals. Open to hearing opinions about socks though. Having enjoyed the clogs-with-thick-socks movement and being inclined to go with comfort and warmth, I’m wondering if you can do similar with trainers or if you have to wear invisible trainer socks?

I wear my two pairs of barrel jeans with trainers/loafers and socks. I'm a big fan of a nice bright coloured or patterned sock and although the look was originally a bit of a hurdle for me (I instinctively felt it ooght to be a no socks or popsock look) I now love it.

Red socks i think look particularly cool, even if you're wearing nothing else red.

Sadly I am not trendy or young enough to do the socks thing. I’d look like a Bay City Roller (see! That’s how old I am…) I saw a woman wearing barrel jeans with pointed high-heeled boots - she looked great but that’s ok for a night out - not normal life walking about.
