Sainsbury’s jeans 😲

My mate was wearing a lovely pair of barrel leg jeans so I asked her where she got them. Sainsbury’s, she says, £22. So I went and got some for myself. First day out in them today and another woman asked where I got them, said they looked really nice on. And I wore them all day and they’re the same size now as when I put them on (marginally more relaxed but they haven’t grown a couple of sizes like jeans sometimes do).

Very impressed. When did this happen to Sainsbury’s? Are there other gems in the Tu department that I should look out for??

Next used to do ones called hypercurve which were amazing. They were shaped and didn't gape at the back and fitted me like they were made for me
Obviously they discontinued them Angry

Levi used to do a shaped range made for different bodies, I liked the Demi curve. I wore them out and by then of course they had stopped making them 🙄

Another one who has just ordered the barrel leg jeans off the back of this thread! Although kicking myself. I looked last night and they were down to £15 but gone back up to £22 but even so, a bargain

although I’m a short arse size 14 so not entirely sure how they’ll look but will see and I’ll report back!

CaptainMyCaptain · 01/02/2025 13:46

I picked up mine today (the jeans in the OP) and they are a perfect fit for me at size 10R. I'm only only 5ft 3" but the leg length is just right given that i dont like the ankle grazer look and like my trousers to come down to my shoes.

mcmooberry · 01/02/2025 14:36

Have had an email to say said jeans in OP are here (along with my nightdresses) so shall report back when tried on. They only had the 10R left which might be a tad optimistic but we'll see.

In my opinion TU do the most well made jeans and trousers especially for boys. Far far better then marks and Spencer or NEXT where I used to shop. My son has been wearing a particular navy blue pair of dressy trousers / cargo looking for over a year and the still look new

True, Next did great ones for my 5.9 straight frame, but started using cheaper materials, same as M&S.

LilyRose88 · 01/02/2025 16:30

I saw the high rise barrel leg jeans in Sainsbury's this afternoon priced at £24. They looked nice so I picked a pair up. They scanned through the till at £6.60!!!

I paid and left the shop quickly, as part of me thought there must have been some mistake. 😂
I tried them on when I got home and they look like an expensive pair from Cos. I can't believe what a bargain they were. I bought a size 12R which is my normal size and they fit well.

RampantIvy · 01/02/2025 18:06

Hardly any denim at my Sainsburys, so mission not accomplished. It's an hour's round trip for me, and with the changing rooms closed I won't be buying anything I can't try on in the shop.

Sainsburys is off the list for most clothes for me as is Tesco, which is also a trek.

MrsR2be · 01/02/2025 18:15

Boring but the school uniform is brilliant especially for the price, better than m&s

TaterTots68 · 01/02/2025 18:55

Sainsbury's jeans are fab. I bought a pair for £7.20 in clearance the other day (should have been £24). I've got a couple of lovely borg tops from there too, really good quality.

CalmMintReader · 01/02/2025 19:06

I worry I’ll look bow legged in barrel leg jeans - maybe I’m looking at the wrong ones - tapered at the bottom?

I like it as it gives the illusion of a thigh gap 😂

Totally agree, got myself a pair of bootleg jeans and they’re fab!

Yes, that's me too. 90 min round trip is only feasible if I can try stuff on.

Ooh me as well, ordered mine off the back of this thread. Picking them up tomorrow, I’m a size 14
will report back as well x

Thatwasthenthisisbetter · 01/02/2025 20:00

I got the brown barrel leg cargos yesterday and love them. No jeans left in my size.

BlackFriYay · 01/02/2025 20:02

Thank you to the poster who mentioned the shiny red pointed shoes! I've just treat myself to some after swearing blind I'm not buying any more clothes or shoes and can't wait to wear them!

Nannylovesshopping · 01/02/2025 21:35

After reading this thread, I bought size 12R, they are fabulous, great quality!

Winfield · 01/02/2025 23:03

I brought an orange sweater dress last year, and I’m still wearing it and get loads of compliments.
This year I got a leather look pleated maxi skirt, which looks great and is very warm on cold days.
you have to be selective, but Sainsbury’s clothes can be really good. The Nine Elms branch has a good range.

Ryeman · 02/02/2025 07:23

Their clothes have been great for years! I have the same jeans. Really hoping these and mom style don’t go out of fashion because they are so flattering for my body type - big bum and thighs, small waist. I do have to size down in there though - their stuff comes up big.

Courgetteandbeans · 02/02/2025 08:13

I got a couple of pairs of jeans - one bootcut and one flared - from Tu recently. I was in a rush and just needed jeans quickly but was delighted with both pairs. They fit really well and make me feel good.

Marisislikethesunwithoutthewarmth · 02/02/2025 09:27

love Tu clothing with the exception of their cardigans and jumpers they bobble and become unsightly very quickly- but then I find the same with jumpers in M&S.

my favourite things to shop for in Sainsbury is kids shoes and uniforms, baby clothes and for me skirts, t-shirts, pjs.

teawamutu · 02/02/2025 10:53

Got the notification that my stuff will be available for collection at 4 today. The store closes at 4 😭.

Brooomhilda · 28/01/2025 10:00

I have the exact same coat and it's amazing. And looks so stylish too for a rain proof coat! I actually feel good in it.

Could someone link the amazing raincoat? My old one is falling apart 🌧️

Crimson5 · 02/02/2025 16:32

Our local Sainsbury's clothes are quite dull. Awful glittery Christmas wear no other choice. I did get some very nice ankle boots and a rain coat I liked.

Footymum44 · 02/02/2025 16:40

Picked up my barrel jeans and I love them, they look so good on.
