Fuck what I can I wear to this wedding?

Son getting married this summer. Her mum is 6ft and slender. She's going to look incredible as MOB

I am short, fat (22-24) and with massive boobs. Like huge!

Feeling a bit panic stricken now.
Don't even know what I want to wear let alone find it.

I like patterns but don't want to look like upholstered armchair.
Like most colours, complexion is fair, mousy hair.

No overt cleavage on show. Calves also fecking hug3 so not too short.

Maybe hat. But I look silly in anything small because of massive boobs and tummy.

Arse also size of a small country.

I am perfectly happy with my size mostly, certainly no motivation to starve. But wtf am I going to wear? I'm going to let him down by looking fucking awful. I jus5 want something chic and comfortable.

Budget - not bothered. I was going to look at bombshell but they gone bust. All the MOB/MOG stuff seems to be for thin elegant Carole Middleton types. Love Carole btw. But I need something for a Miriam Margoles shape.

Dumpy?! I think you are being too hard on your self. I think as others have said, no flowers, get a plain colour perhaps longish, but not full length, let me give this more thought, I'm going to delve into a solution. x

Twisted Wunder do some fab dresses

TaRaRaBumDeeAy · 11/01/2025 18:15

Hope and Ivy, stunning dresses

Vitriolinsanity · 11/01/2025 19:25

I'm hoping your EVRI delivery driver has collapsed under the weight of sample dresses OP and you've hit gold.

To paraphrase and spin Kate Moss "nothing feels as good as fabulous feels".

Bubblecat89 · 11/01/2025 20:34

As a fellow big busted lady, avoid Phase eight! I have just had to send three dresses back as they all have those stupid hidden zips!

Nikki75 · 11/01/2025 22:19

Have a look at Evan's online or yours clothing .
Get properly measured for a bra it makes a massive difference .. knickers to pull your waist in ...
You will feel fabulous .. you can go for patterns cinched in at waist.

Seconding Marina Rinaldi - this brand had dressed me well for years! Go online - easy return process too.

NannaKaren · 12/01/2025 10:28

Where do you live?
eg in Windsor, Daniels store would have a Personal Shopper to advise and I’m sure any large Dept Store will offer this service.
i know John Lewis do this.
Then book a day for trying on and take a trusted family member or friend with you.
Some Dept Stores offer rental too.
Good Luck, have fun and you’ll be fab xxx

deeahgwitch · 12/01/2025 19:48

There's a huge difference price wise between Marina Rinaldi and Evans/Yours Clothing.
Both suggested one after another on this thread.

Luckypoppy · 15/01/2025 19:03

Scarlet and Jo all the way!

MrsPositivity1 · 24/01/2025 23:05

The website suggested upthread has this and it looks stunning

Fuck what I can I wear to this wedding?
NigelHarmansNewWife · 25/01/2025 07:27

@MrsPositivity1 - it does indeed. However this being MN there will soon be a pile on suggesting it's far too bridal for the OP to wear to someone else's wedding.

HoraceCope · 25/01/2025 07:28

well indeed it is Bridal, and full length.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 25/01/2025 07:32

Bingo!

Jetandianto · 25/01/2025 18:05

Try the Carolina Dress Room. Their ‘Peggy’ style is one that works really well with someone of our size. Their styles are extremely flattering and the prints are amazing. Last summer, I wore one to a very high class family wedding and got loads of compliments. I teamed it with some classy jewellery and a hat from a charity shop. Good luck!

PhotoFirePoet · 25/01/2025 18:30

This is nice and comes in many colours

I really don't want to go to a personal shopper. High street has so little in plus size. It would just be embarassing.

Hobbs don't do my size do they?

I don't think I have any style icons. I always quite like what Kate Middleton wears but she's not my size at all. What I'd like to wear would be something like wgatsername in poldark wore at the end of the series, flowing green velvet and boots.

But it's a summer weddding, she's a red haired 10 at most and it's not 1800 so I'm a bit screwed there.

Have you looked at Scarlett and Jo- their dresses are really flattering?
