Sudacrem price riseI went to buy Sudacrem cream recently and saw that the price for a 400g pot was x3 more expensive than my last purchase!

A quick Google reveals :

I still have it in the house even though my youngest is 18. Always find this amusing (being a Scottish mum 🤣)

Do people buy it? I thought it just appeared in your house.

dothehokeycokey · 20/10/2024 17:23

My eldest is mid twenties and youngest mid teens now but we still have a tub upstairs and a tub downstairs in our house.

I've always used it for many many things not just babies and my kids use it for many things now

My parents are in their 70s and they also use it.

Brilliant stuff

Spagettifunction · 20/10/2024 17:24

Ah a great Irish product

I need some now actually for my own skin .. must find it lurking at the back of a cupboard

krazipan · 20/10/2024 17:27

I'm pretty sure my mum still has the remnants of a pot from when my youngest sister was born and she is 32!

lemonyellows · 20/10/2024 17:32

It has been known in our house as the magic cream 😂

The linked piece says its now produced by pharma giant Teva in Israel. I didn't know that.

CallYourselfAChef · 20/10/2024 18:03

It's great stuff. I always have a tub in the house, particularly when the grandchildren have any scrapes

readingmakesmehappy · 20/10/2024 18:25

It lasts in the bathroom cabinet for decades. Doesn't it?

Addictedtococacola · 20/10/2024 19:01

I used to use it for everything.
But now it's banned from our house cause ds will eat it and if someone has used it he will lick them. Ds has pica so sudacrem is one of many banned thing in our house.

KatRee · 20/10/2024 19:02

Has anyone found it effective for eczema? DS has very persistent eczema and I have a big pot of this and never thought to try it for that

Singleandproud · 20/10/2024 19:35

Weird to know how they ever made a profit when each household only needs 1 pot to last three decades 🤣

GreenSedan · 20/10/2024 19:37

Suncream is used for everything at our house: eczema, zits, sunburn, rashes. It gets used all the time, and the pot never seems to run out.

BattedAnEyebrow · 20/10/2024 19:38

I've still got the tiny one from my Bounty pack. Dd is 20.

Bignanna · 20/10/2024 19:43

That’s cheeky! The price rocketing up is not going to get more buying it!

Yes, it has helped the backs of my hands. Just feels a bit claggy.

ItReallyWasAgathaAllAlong · 20/10/2024 19:47

I have some tubs that are an exact replica that I’ll happily sell for a low, low price.

DM me if you want to order some Pseudocrem.

Haha I just found a second tub that I never knew I had

MrTwatchester · 20/10/2024 19:49

I wonder if it actually does anything, or if it's just a big pot of cold cream and placebo?

I genuinely laughed out loud. V good.

Riverd · 20/10/2024 19:53

Sudocrem gets used on everyone and for everything - including the horses

The pharmacist told me not to use it for eczema (although I think it does say on the pot that you can). She said the reason it's so effective for nappy rash is because it's drying - so the opposite of what you want with eczema. Also she said it contains lots of fragrances compared to most eczema ointments, as well as lanolin, and that eczema sufferers are more likely to be irritated by wool (and therefore by lanolin) than people without eczema.
As an aside, I have mild eczema, and find wool clothing brings me out in hives, but it took me aaages to figure out why lansinoh was making breastfeeding more painful instead of less when I first had DS 🙄 So, anecdotally, I can believe that lanolin-containing products might not be great for people with eczema.

I haven't used it for eczema but Balmonds cream was fantastic for Grandson's eczema.
