Sudacrem price riseI went to buy Sudacrem cream recently and saw that the price for a 400g pot was x3 more expensive than my last purchase!

A quick Google reveals :

I'm out of step with Mumsnet on this as I hate Sudocrem!

It's vile, icky-sticky stuff and, back in the day when my DCs were babies was one of the main causes of severe nappy rash as mothers plastered it on their babies' bums, it transferred to the nappy surface which made it less absorbent and caused horrendous rash, almost like burns.

Strange pov! Isn't it mainly used for nappy rash? I'm Irish and growing up every baby's bum was covered in it!

If you have hens with scaly mite on their legs, rub it in thoroughly. The awful lumpy scales fall off leaving beautiful shiny smooth legs. I was astonished at the results because I'd tried everything else from the farm shop.

Excellent for everything.
Ive got horribly dry hands that split and get really sore - I coat them in sudocrem before it splits overnight and the next morning they are transformed! And really really soft.

I just cannot understand why they do not make a squeeze travel tube version!!! I’ve even considered writing to them to tell them to do it and that I could be a product designer for them. It used to aggravate me that I couldn’t fit the small tub in the fold up changing bag!!!! That’s how much sudocrem has been in my daily life until recently (ds is potty training!!)

Weird to know how they ever made a profit when each household only needs 1 pot to last three decades 🤣

I think the same about PitROK... I bought one four years ago and it's still going. Great for anyone short of cash, even if a slightly higher upfront cost.

Has anyone found it effective for eczema? DS has very persistent eczema and I have a big pot of this and never thought to try it for that

Coconut oil and castor oil x

Do people buy it? I thought it just appeared in your house.

We have loads of tubs. I don't remember ever buying it. I think I probably bought it as a sleep deprived mum a decade ago and it just seems to last for ever!

Probably a money-laundering front that you have just exposed!

A 400g pot is £7.50 in Asda. You must have last bought some in 1980 to get that for £2.50. YABU

Yeah, some of us are quite old on here!!

lowlight · 20/10/2024 21:39

it is amazing on the dogs itchy skin, my daughter puts it on her spots and my husband rubs it on his balls......

mrsmiawallace3 · 20/10/2024 21:42

I bought a large tub recently, and lazily rubbed the extra cream over my hands. Well wow ! Best hand cream ever?! Amazing results!

Geneticsbunny · 20/10/2024 21:44

You have to buy more if you ever accidentally leave it in the same room as a toddler. Don't ask me how I know...

justasking111 · 20/10/2024 21:44

My grandson woke up during the evening after being put to bed. Got hold of the sudocreme. Smeared the walls, carpet, his toys and himself Etc with a big pot of sudocreme. The mess was unbelievable.

MayaPinion · 20/10/2024 21:45

Have you seen this? It’s great stuff. I use it sometimes to take the heat out of my rosacea. It is drying, but useful for the occasional flare up.

Well not all of us agree with that messaging. I wont be boycotting anything Israeli. But thank you - I now know to ask my pharmacy specifically for TEVA products.

Demonhunter · 20/10/2024 21:46

I even use it on my dog who has a skin condition, it stops her scratching for a while.

I'm another who uses magic cream and the kids have always called it that too!

I hope you each have your own tub

Mumandcarer80 · 20/10/2024 21:49

I got a free sample with my bounty pack when I was having DS. But unfortunately he had a bad reaction and had a sore bum for a week. Not used it since he was ok with drapoline though and another in a yellow tube.

Yes I have used it for eczema

It has been known in our house as the magic cream 😂

No, that's Germolene -cures everything! 😆

Sandysoles · 20/10/2024 21:52

How odd to assume that everyone would be on board with boycotting Israeli products.

They now have tiny pots! Discover that tonight, as this thread reminded me to chuck the old ones and buy some new.

3 Different pots, right?! 😂

bumblingbovine49 · 20/10/2024 21:55

It doesn't work that well on eczema but it works wonders on the underboob rash I often get when I get hot and sweaty in the summer. If it starts to get very sore, using sudocreme for a few days always sorts it out .
