Sudacrem price riseI went to buy Sudacrem cream recently and saw that the price for a 400g pot was x3 more expensive than my last purchase!

A quick Google reveals :

This thread has just prompted me to go and check my ancient tub. As is the law, it has been in the medicine cabinet since time began, but is barely diminished.

I’ve had a sore toe for weeks but didn’t think to use it. I just popped some on and shall expect a miraculous recovery by morning.

AliceMcK · 20/10/2024 23:29

@KatRee ive used it on my DDs eczema and it’s great, especially when it’s in a bad way, which is a lot.

I also used it on my friends dd when she was here once, her poor legs she couldn’t walk properly she was so sore, my friend was in hospital at the time and in 2 days her DDs legs were almost clear, her mum couldn’t believe it worked, she now uses it all the time.

Sadly my dd will only apply when the pains bad, she hates the sensation of cream so we’ve never been to get hers under control as she fights and screams every time we attempt to put anything cream related on her, but when she’s in pain she will ask for magic cream and let us apply until the pain goes away,

DS is almost 39, when I moved house recently, I found the tiny pot from the bounty bag given at his birth… I have a (newer) pot on the go, use it for all sorts, including the dogs minor scrapes. Excellent stuff.

JustGettingStarted · 20/10/2024 23:40

Won't be rebuying then if it's not Irish anymore.

Your post was a lot more critical than that. Be honest. And yes your post was controversial. And offensive.

BitOutOfPractice · 20/10/2024 23:44

I used to rub it on the DDs’ legs when they had growing pains. Magic cream.

now, in their early 20s, it’s in their makeup bags. Magic cream.

Absolutely not.

I used to use it for everything.
But now it's banned from our house cause ds will eat it and if someone has used it he will lick them. Ds has pica so sudacrem is one of many banned thing in our house.

My DC used to eat it too. I tried it to see why the attraction- a bit soapy and lavendery

Smartstuffed · 21/10/2024 00:28

I like Sudocrem, and use it frequently, but hate the look of the grey pot it comes in. So I decant it into a smaller, and more 'aesthetically pleasing' pot in a ritual using the 'Sacred Sudospoon' that lives in my airing cupboard. [I'm 63, live alone, and don't care if that sounds 'precious' 😁]

Jux · 21/10/2024 01:19

I knew a guyin his 40s who used sudocrem on his face every night, he said it took about half an hour to massage in fully! His did have beautiful, clear and unlined skin, mind, so probably worth it.

As soon as I saw the ad with the obnoxious baby I knew the price would skyrocket. I meant to go out to get a tub but have been housebound if not hospitalised since November so didn't do it.

Sold their souls 😠

stonebrambleboy · 21/10/2024 06:26

A pharmacist recommended it for a painful coldsore. Worked a treat.

Dodie66 · 21/10/2024 07:11

Would it work for vaginal soreness itching and is it ok to use it for that?

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 21/10/2024 07:21

And the.smell! Instantly takes you back to them being babies. Forget your poxy madeleines Marcel, this is the real Proustian moment.

KnickerlessParsons · 20/10/2024 22:44

I thought its magical property was that it never runs out.
We've been using the same run of Sudocrem for years. It's been half full for as long as I can remember. I don't remember buying it either. It's just there - on the bathroom windowsill. Always has been, and probably always will be.

It never gets below 1/3 full, ever. It self re-fills when it gets to that point.

Yes but you can get vaginal cream on Amazon too which may be more effective

Dodie66 · 21/10/2024 13:44

Happiestwhen thanks for the suggestion. I’ll have a look

Loobieloogold · 21/10/2024 17:48

Pot of gold. Even the dogs have had it applied in our house! 🤣

Spagettifunction · 20/10/2024 17:24

Ah a great Irish product

I need some now actually for my own skin .. must find it lurking at the back of a cupboard

Not Irish any more - owned by Teva, the Israeli pharma company. On the boycott list!

SingingSands · 21/10/2024 18:00

We have a pot in the bathroom cabinet that I swear I bought when DS (16) was about a year old. The only reason I had to replace the pot we bought when DD (20) was born is because one day I walked into the nursery to find DD had completely slathered her baby brother in Sudocreme. Classic toddler behaviour 🤣

Namechangedididittoo · 21/10/2024 18:05

KatRee · 20/10/2024 19:02

Has anyone found it effective for eczema? DS has very persistent eczema and I have a big pot of this and never thought to try it for that

My son had bad eczema and we used pure potion it cleared it up a treat

moodybluehpc · 21/10/2024 18:16

Excellent stuff. Have also used on my dogs

Toptops · 21/10/2024 18:22

I swore by this for nappy rash and it was useful for wounds etc.
Won't be buying any more as it's produced by an Israeli company and I'm boycotting their products until they desist.

Kjpt140v · 21/10/2024 18:29

Very good for trout fishing.

Lairymary · 21/10/2024 18:30

We've got a pot in the bathroom, bedroom AND the living room! 😅
