I also meant to say that, for anyone who is looking to make DiY calendars, particularly for younger people, that LF have some good reductions on the app atm. I particularly noticed some heavily reduced Revolution and Sleek palettes and other products just now.

Thank you @IlovePond - I'd forgotten! I had £10 in perks, I don't LF much anymore, but with the beauty box discount I got the calendar for £77...!

So, if a time wants those powder puffs, form an orderly queue! But it's worth that as I will use most of it.

I’m planning on getting my first advent calendar this year and I think I’m going to get the JL one as I have some vouchers to use as well.

I just wondered whether it was worth waiting until Black Friday in case it has a discount. I don’t want to pay full price and then be annoyed if it’s cheaper if there is a deal! Can anyone remember from last year?

Also what does the acronym DOD stand for? I’ve seen it on a few posts. Thanks!

I'm also thinking about the jl one. It's the best I've seen so far, i just think it's slightly overpriced. Did someone say they did a discount last year for rewards customers? For me it values at £165. It's good it's not released until October because I am hoping we get more details from vogue and I will probably go for that.

I also like the idea of Neals Yard which someone kindly pointed to, but I think the brand is marmite and MLM-y for some.

I've pre-ordered the Elemis one. I liked the look of last years but left it too late. I'll probably go for the M&S too.

I'm not making any decisions until I see what's in Vogue but not sure I can justify it.

@Saltybee @Tuyouyou I think JL usually does have a discount in October IIRC. I don't think it's as late as Black Friday, and I think it's about 20%. But others here may remember better - I bought it in 2022 & definitely got a discount. I'm always disorganized and have never bought one before Oct/Nov!

It's a bit hit or miss isn't it the LF beauty box - some months are great and last month was a low and made me thing what am I doing? Excited about the calendar now!

Does anyone remember when Vogue came out last year? Just wondered how long until the contents are revealed.

I bought the Neals Yard calendar for my daughter a couple of years ago, when it was just 12 items and she loved it.

I got 2 great Elemis sets last year. One from Boots which was approx £45 and one from QVC approx £50. So definitely worth keeping an eye out for those if unsure about the value of an advent calendar

I think Liberty is off my list. It's €360!!!!

I assume that is because of the additional excise on items costing more than €250.

At least they do the whole thing upfront and you're not hit with a massive excise bill you weren't expecting. But yeah, it's madness.

Many years ago I got the Marvis licorice toothpaste in my Liberty AC. It's the AC item I've repurchased the most often.

I still have not found one I want to buy, not keen on nitche beauty either. I hope Space NK do fragrance advent or M&S have something good. The only one I like is Space Nk but I can't commit as I have good few of the products full size already

I will feel that I am missing out in December
