With just under 3 months to go until 1 December, there are some big decisions to be made! Thread to discuss advent calendars while we wait for more content revelations and release dates.

I usually get the MAC advent, but thought I could possibly split one with DD15 if they had things like sol de janiero and bubble etc, but the cost does put me off.

That’s annoying. It definitely came off mine, might be worth contacting them. I bought two as I use the Elemis collagen moisturiser anyway and there were a couple of other favourites. I have twin dds so will give them one each of stuff I won’t use.

I’m having exactly the same dilemma right now. No calendar is particularly jumping out at me, but I also have FOMO. I love “shopping” my advent calendar products throughout the year (it’s great to finish a moisturiser and instantly grab a new one from my AC stash) and it feels so much more cost-effective than buying products separately.

I bought Cult Beauty in 2022 and Liberty last year.

Does anyone know ... I treated myself to the Liberty calendar I think it was two Christmas's ago, the inside of the box was the gorgeous peacock feather print?

Anyway it's in lovely condition but just gathering dust in the loft. Do think it's worth trying to sell on Vinted?

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz I wouldn't bother. For some reason Vinted don't allow advent calendars to be sold, so they're likely to remove the listing.

i looked at the Rituals village contents and it’s not for me…wish I had bought last years, when all the tiger products were in it.

I think all of the Harrods perfume debacle has seriously taken the excitement out of it…for now. Sorry for the moan! 😁

I would like to see Vogue and I do like SpaceNK.

Beauty Bay looks great for younger people. I have no need for spot patches..more in need of an Ally McBeal face bra type of thing!

It may be worth putting it on eBay as people sell the empty boxes there and I have seen them on the local Facebook selling groups.

So has anyone had any progress with the Harrods Fragrance advent debacle. I have now had my refund and when I went to check on the status of the order on my Harrods account it still says cancelled and weirdly will not me drill into the detail no reply to my DM from Saturday evening (they do say 48 hours and dont work Sunday so I will give them until tomorrow)
I have screen printed every thing so still have my order details , screen prints from my web chat that I would get the advent, screen prints of the messages saying they would honour all preorders. So I am fully prepared to go nuclear on them soon but I am beyond mad about the whole situation. We are now on Day 5 of this and I personally have seen no progress

@Puravida23 I messaged them again through Instragram to say my order is still saying cancelled. They have assured me it will be sent. I’m not sure when they are due though.

According to a person on TikTok we were meant to receive an email yesterday or today with a phone number to call to reorder the Harrods

CB have an explanation of some of the differences between the two advents. I’m out on the Scent with Love. Too many DOD for me. I’m still waiting for HN fragrance and a possible Space NK perfume AC

I liked the look of the LF one until I saw the negative online review (cosmetopia or something?). I'm now trying to decide whether to go for it, go for the men's LF one because it looks better, or just spend on a few favorite brands on Black Friday 😆 send help!

I'd always take reviews with a pinch of salt, if you think you'll use the products (or most of) and the price seems decent to you then don't worry about what has the best savings, whether someone else thinks one of the items is rubbish. At the end of the day as well these creators make money from reviewing these, if they were always super positive then no one would trust what they said! Maybe watch a few more and see.

Edit to add: rather than get swept up in the advent calendar part (let's be real hardly a surprise each day!) I imagine the products all laid out and think about how many I'd realistically use.

I got my first ever beauty advent calendar last year. It was the boots premium one. Loved it! I've bought various ones for dd over the years, and she returned the favour last year. I got her the LF one last year, which was OK, but she said not as good as the M&S one the year before.

Thank you! I valentines had another look with fresh eyes and most of it looks better than I remember! I'll think on it a few more days! I couldnprobably use some spare items for top up gifts or to put together for charity raffles 🤔

Ok I couldn’t leave it so have just chatted again with Harrods . Apparently emails are being sent out in the next few days on next steps. Presumably we will have to reorder as most of us have been refunded. Please can you let me know if anyone gets this email or anything
My gut is that I don’t think I will get an email I haven’t received anything from them since Fridays cancellation I am not even sure I even want the advent anymore but I am pressing on and I think we should all get some sort of compensation for this . It is beyond shoddy

Elemis calendar is out to waitlist - £199, good range definitely a nice calendar if you like the brand but as usual dithering because they have such a good cyber Nov I could wait and see..

I love reading all of the various comments and viewpoints.

I am not entirely sure what to do. I cancelled my Liberty Beauty Drop but have £259 in credit so enough for the calendar. But there are a few things I’m not keen on. And I don’t need anything in reality as I have so much stuff. So I wasn’t going to get the calendar.

But. I joined the BD purely to save for the Liberty calendar as I have never had one. And I know I won’t do it again. And I’ll probably just have general regret for ever if I don’t get it. But I already have so much stuff!

I can’t quite decide!

I think I’m 80% going to order it once it’s on general release. Decisions decisions!
