I think that shirt looked so much better in the live than it does on the product page @Snowyowl78 . Definitely worth a try.
I've got the hedgerow shirt that they showed, and that's a lovely shirt as well.

Snowyowl78 · 31/05/2024 15:53

@ScottishMouse thanks, sounds like I would maybe need the M. I have the white patchwork shirt from last summer (or maybe the one before) and was hoping to emulate the same vibe, but sounds like maybe it will be a bit square!

ScottishMouse · 31/05/2024 16:04

It is definitely quite square @Snowyowl78 , but cute. The collar is lovely. It’s worth a try. There was just too much pattern for me.

AvaGardens · 01/06/2024 06:00

@ScottishMouse I ordered the blue violane version yesterday.
I'll let you know what I think of it when it arrives regarding fit, fabric etc if that helps!

ScottishMouse · 01/06/2024 07:02

Thanks @AvaGardens

FitzLea · 01/06/2024 14:06

@ScottishMouse if you’re on IG, take a look at Toast Brighton - they have it layered over the block print dress in a post and gives a good indication of the stone colour.

Qweesh · 01/06/2024 15:09

@FitzLea funnily enough I saw that post yesterday and promptly added both to my wishlist, having originally decided against the dress when it was released 🙈 shows how different things look IRL!

FitzLea · 01/06/2024 17:43

@Qweesh I can understand and why - the dress and shirt look so good together! I find the shop posts really inspiring at times and this was definitely one of them.

ScottishMouse · 01/06/2024 20:18

Oh thanks @FitzLea. I love the look of it but think it would be too draining on me.

Sooverthemill · 02/06/2024 08:03

Have I missed a sale?

Sooverthemill · 02/06/2024 08:14

Because there’s a couple of things I’d like but hoping a sale may be on the way???

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/06/2024 08:40

Normally around the middle of June I think @Sooverthemill .

whinsome · 02/06/2024 09:58

Just seen the latest Toast email. Slightly miffed that NY gets a store before, say, Glasgow! 😁

Thanks that’s what I was thinking so only a couple of weeks to wait. I have my eye on a couple of things so will try to hold off! I have 3 nights away end of June

I’m going to NYC amazingly end of September to meet up with my sister for the first time in almost 10 years ( she lives in Delaware) so I am very excited

Aw, that sounds like a really special trip - made even more so by a little Toast shopping. Would be interested to know how the prices compare!

ToastCosILoveIt · 02/06/2024 12:31

Hello all, haven’t posted in a while but still flying the Toast flag locally and getting stopped in the street to ask where my clothes are from! I check in with this thread regularly and love hearing about all of your purchases and also how your old purchases are doing.

I have been busy decluttering much loved but not often worn pieces over on the Facebook page, thanks to all who bought!

Today I am wearing a boy cut slate tee shirt with the dhal mariner hemp cotton skirt which, unbelievably, I hadn’t worn before. Decluttering certainly helps you to see what you have. Even DH double looked and said I looked nice so need to wear it more. I also have the blue version, also unworn but I am going to get it out. It is a very flattering and easy skirt: flat front but elasticated to the back.

Yesterday I wore the wrap front jumpsuit in blue from a couple of years ago, so flattering and easy (except when you need the loo)!

I also found a linen smock dress in bright blue that I had forgotten I had. I think someone posted it on the Facebook page as they were looking for it in the other colourway. That is coming on a trip to Cornwall with me.

I need to remind myself to put my Toast apron on when I am eating: having breakfast this morning, boiled egg and toast and a bit of melted butter dropped on to my lovely dhal skirt :(

I am eying up the block stripe cotton dress in the poppy when the sale comes. I bought the tie dye gingham skirt and am looking forward to wearing it on my Cornwall trip.

Hope the sun is shining where you all are, have a lovely day.

I wonder how Toast will go down in Brooklyn. We don't seem to have any toasties from that part of the world do we? I know we have a few in Europe and Australia
@Sooverthemill - very envious of your NYC trip - hope you have a wonderful time. What do you have your eye on?

AvaGardens · 02/06/2024 22:11

Hello again @ToastCosILoveIt !!
Enjoyed your post, you have some very nice items there.
I love finding things I'd put away for one reason or another, and then the joy of discovery.
I have both those skirts, in dahl and the blue, and I had packed them away last year but have enjoyed wearing them this spring, very flattering and I think they're constructed to last!
I don't know why I don't wear my new things straight away 😅
Is it a thing?!!

Sooverthemill · 03/06/2024 06:37

@faustina I've narrowed it down to these three but keep adding extras! I try not to look too much at toast but I watched a Live and was drawn in- any suggestions?

It will be fab to visit NYC again - haven't been since 2008 when I had to speak at a UN event ( or those heady days) and visiting anywhere is very hard now as DD is so very sick but DS has volunteered to stay for a week so DH and I can go. My sister has a condition that means she can't fly anymore so I am very keen to meet up with her. She has lived in the US for around 50 years. At the end of the week we fly to Toronto so DH can speak at a conference
