Maybe it is indeed a game @Qweesh. so frustrating though.
That raincoat is beautiful. Will you buy if it comes up in the sale?
I’m going to see if my local store has an xs the Alix tomorrow to try. I doubt they will have the stripe ones though as they are oos online. Maybe I am just between sizes in Alix now, that would be sad.

Qweesh · 30/05/2024 07:31

@ScottishMouse It comes today so I shall let you know.

Good Luck with your trip to store!

If that fails, I have a bit of a crackpot suggestion, I recently started attending a sewing class and my teacher also has a love of Toast, I asked her if it would be easy to copy a particular dress (without undoing it), and she had said yes (measure the dress for material amount, trace around dress, adjust as you go). So that could be an option for you with the Alix’s? Or unpick a really old pair and trace that way?

I know that it’s a bit of an ambitious plan 😂 and my love for Toast isn’t just the shapes but the fabrics too. Vivian Shao Chen has some lovely trouser patterns, the Bisque might be up your street.

Ah I’m not much of a sewer @Qweesh. I have often thought of copying my favourite pair of Toast culottes, but I know I would never get them as perfect as I would like and that would just annoy me.
Let us know how your dress making goes though!

Qweesh · 30/05/2024 08:40

Ha! Me either but I’m trying. I’m currently attempting a workwear jacket 🤞

ScottishMouse · 30/05/2024 11:50

Well, I went and tried the Alix in an xs and I think I am a bit between sizes. The xs fits but is very snug on the belly/hips/bum, every underwear line can be seen. Which I don’t think is how they should look. The s is comfy but I know will bag a bit on the bum once worn. How do others like their Alix trousers to fit??

ScottishMouse · 30/05/2024 11:51

A jacket sounds very scary to me @qweesh! Be sure to show us when it’s done.

Qweesh · 30/05/2024 13:06

The raincoat came @ScottishMouse. I do need the next size up. It’s a lovely colour irl, darker than online images. I will try it in the bigger size if it comes up in the sale, however the short sleeves may annoy me.

Shame about the Alix try on. I can’t comment on fit as I don’t have them.

ScottishMouse · 30/05/2024 13:09

Ooh I love a short sleeve @Qweesh, I have short arms! 🤣

Qweesh · 30/05/2024 13:32

🤣 @ScottishMouse just been to measure for you. The sleeves on the S/M measure 15.5 inches from armpit to wrist. On me they sit about an inch above my wrist bone.

ScottishMouse · 30/05/2024 13:38

Oh thank you @qweesh, that’s kind of you. I will be looking out for it in the sale I think.

Stoic123 · 30/05/2024 17:13

There's been a reworn restock in case anyone is interested.

faustina · 30/05/2024 19:59

@Stoic123 - thank you! Hope someone finds something nice there

FitzLea · 30/05/2024 20:25

@Stoic123 - thanks! I managed a wool cashmere neat sweater. It was labelled as lightly worn - but I know some here have had issues with reworn knitwear - so I’m hoping for the best.

ScottishMouse · 30/05/2024 20:29

@FitzLea i got one of those in an early reworn drop and it also said lightly worn, but was perfect. I later bought a different knit which said the same but was not in good condition. So a bit of a lottery I’d say. Fingers crossed!

mizu · 30/05/2024 21:46

Re reworn, I wanted this but dithered and it's gone.

FitzLea · 30/05/2024 21:48

Ah great @ScottishMouse, thanks! I also wasn’t sure about sizing, but I think consensus on here was to size up.

Qweesh · 30/05/2024 21:49

Fortuitously my friend was late for dinner and I managed to snag some Tan Fracap Ola’s whilst waiting 🙌 thanks for the heads up @Stoic123

Snowyowl78 · 31/05/2024 15:07

there was a live earlier, anyone see it? Was just a brief one. I’m drawn to this shirt though, anyone tried it? I’d be interested in the sizing as I tried the blue patchwork one in a 12 and it was too small. I don’t think I have anything from Toast in a 14 so I think the new sizing has kicked in here. So I am wondering if this one comes up small too and I’d need a large!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 31/05/2024 15:30

I saw the live @Snowyowl78 I like the way they styled that shirt over the crinkle dress, it made me want to buy the dress. Although goodness knows why, its far too cold for anything sleeveless here.

Snowyowl78 · 31/05/2024 15:32

@Theteapotsbrokenspout ive got the dress! I’m going to wear it over a tshirt. I haven’t worn it yet, I’m undecided whether i need to shorten it. It was my second time around for this one because when I first tried it I was between sizes but now I’ve lost a few pounds it works better for me. Now I want to shirt so I can wear the whole outfit! I strongly suspect that the dress will be in the June sale.

ScottishMouse · 31/05/2024 15:37

@Snowyowl78 i tried that shirt and it was massive! Size down for sure.

Snowyowl78 · 31/05/2024 15:38

@ScottishMouse was it! What size did you try compared to your normal toast size?

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 31/05/2024 15:38

I'm beginning to think all the things I've bought and not worn will be in the June sale 🙄.

Snowyowl78 · 31/05/2024 15:39

@Theteapotsbrokenspout no doubt! I don’t think either patchwork shirt will though.

ScottishMouse · 31/05/2024 15:40

@Snowyowl78 i tried a medium and I definitely could have got a small, but I didn’t like it on me so didn’t try. It had a very boxy shape. I am an old small, but medium in most tops these days.
