Thank you for the new drop update
I'm feeling its more classic Toast and will have to reign myself in.
My shirt and PJs arrive today so will update

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/07/2024 13:49

Further reductions now @faustina but I don’t really know what on.

Do they reduce again later or is this it?

faustina · 04/07/2024 13:58

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - and this dress which is the one I was banging on about how lovely it was yesterday. They very kindly agreed to refund me the difference on it just now so I'm really pleased

I don't know if they do further reductions?

The kick flare jeans are reduced, I am quite tempted. Does anyone have these or has tried them?

the corinne trousers look lovely but being cotton wool blend puts me off as I find it hard to machine wash successfully. I see they recommend dry cleaning on the blurb.

Do we think more reductions may be on their way? I think sometimes they do go to 60% off

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/07/2024 14:01

That’s good @faustina . I am tempted to try the turquoise tank again.

MrsRadichio · 04/07/2024 14:07

@faustina i really like the look of that dress, and it is a really good price. Shame it is now almost sold out.

faustina · 04/07/2024 14:09

@MrsRadichio it's been on my wish list for so long. If it comes back into stock in other sizes I really recommend trying it!

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2024 14:22

My last sale parcel arrived and is mostly going back.
The Under His Eye dress is actually very lovely, and could work for me if I took it up a couple of inches. But….and this is where the problem arises with ordering very old stock….the front pleat on one side is totally skewed. Very noticeable and it would bother me. I’m guessing this one was returned before for this very reason.
The slate cotton linen dress with the deep v is almost perfect. Too deep a v to wear alone though, and I don’t need another pinafore. Plus it catches slightly under the arms.
I love the colour of the butternut half sleeve alpaca mix cardi. I ordered two sizes and need the M. But a couple of things put me off. Worn open, it hangs oddly, but closed it is tight on the stomach area and so rides up. But also, there is a weird issue with the stitch which I feel like someone here mentioned (or maybe it was in a review). I’m not a knitter, but it is like the tension is different in some places leading to kind of pulling or patterns in the knit. But unevenly. One side looks almost like it has a cross cross stitch in it but the other doesn’t. Not sure whether to reorder and try again.
The lightweight voile dress/kaftan is very big, I tried the smallest size as that was all that was left. It fits, but I would wear it only as a cover up on holidays as it is very see-through, and for this I would like it more oversized.
The striped socks are still ridiculously expensive in the sale but I will keep the black/beige ones. Weirdly the pink/brown ones are longer in the foot and the leg, so I’ll send those back.
The chalk lounge tee is ok, but nothing special, so don’t think I will keep it.
I also ordered the new Kaia cardigan in oatmeal, and that is lovely. I had tried last year’s colours but never committed, but this colour will work with so much.

So, staying is the full price cardi and a pair of socks. And I’ll think about trying to get another one of the alpaca cardi. Does anyone have this one and can tell me how they find it…is it worth trying again?

MsDastardley · 04/07/2024 14:33

I received the blue Collectors dress today. I’ve not tried it on properly, but am underwhelmed with it. It looks duller than on website. It’s quite neat, and I sized up going off sizing of Hedgerow dress. I think the blue Hedgerow is much nicer. There are no pockets in the dress. Doesn’t particularly bother me, but I know lots of people like them.

I don’t think the recent crepe dresses have been finished off as nicely as ones I’ve bought in past. This has a mean little hem, my older dresses have much deeper hems.

i will try properly later, but will probably return. It’s a lot for something that is meh on me.

I ordered 16, am bra size 34FF.

Poplinskirt · 04/07/2024 15:17

My order finally arrived.
The colours of the Collector shirt are not strictly me but I love it so it's a keeper
As usual went down a size
The not in your faceness of the colours makes it more wearable for me @MsDastardley

The Sketch check nightdress is huge in a S/M but it works, beautiful light fabric and drape.
The Blueberry Trellis Floral PJs are lovely
So glad that darker cool colours are coming back!

MsDastardley · 04/07/2024 15:57

@Poplinskirt which colour did you go for. I really like that shirt style, I have it in harlequin flower and have had a lot of compliments about it

Poplinskirt · 04/07/2024 16:37

MsDastardley · 04/07/2024 15:57

Mine is Oil Green @MsDastardley
But in true Toast style the background is black .

It's absolutely my favourite shirt style, I have the Harlequin and both colours in the Gia print.
Although I see someone has moaned about the sleeve style in the reviews
The sleeve lifts it IMHO

MsDastardley · 04/07/2024 17:00

@Poplinskirt that’s the colour I got. I was certain the background was navy. I’ve taken to the window, and it is indeed black!

Poplinskirt · 04/07/2024 17:04

I spent several minutes at various windows , called DH for a second set of eyes - black!

AFingerofFudge · 04/07/2024 21:35

Does anyone else get sucked back in just to check that there isn't something that wasn't there the other 834 times I've looked that I absolutely must buy?! Grin

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2024 22:52

Yep @AFingerofFudge !!

I think I have given up on the sale now. I am still eyeing up the stone coloured linen vneck dress and wondering if the colour would be awful on me and totally impractical. I am lured in by how it looks on the model over the green trousers, but I don’t share her shape or her colouring. Has anyone tried this dress?

Stoic123 · 04/07/2024 23:48

@AFingerofFudge - yes but have been much less tempted by things this time. Normally, I'm hovering to pounce.

AFingerofFudge · 05/07/2024 06:55

@Stoic123 I think that's why I keep going back; I have only bought 3 things as there's just nothing appealing to me this time round.

Snowyowl78 · 05/07/2024 06:57

I’ve succumbed to the Utility Jacket as it has such great reviews on the website and on here! Also some ridiculous silk socks.
I highly recommend the waxed anorak by the way, it’s lovely! Great colour.

ScottishMouse · 05/07/2024 09:14

Hope you like the utility jacket @Snowyowl78. I am really pleased with it. Have worn it a few times already…Scottish summer!!

whinsome · 05/07/2024 09:45

I'm another fan of the utility jacket - been worn a few times here too, also Scotland, also not summer.

Out of all my many orders I kept that, that alder check dress and a notebook.

I tried the A Line Cotton Linen Twill Dress in butterscotch. I sized down as that seemed to be consensus from reviews and while it fitted at waist there was no room for my boobs. There didn't seem to be a 'cup' and so if I'd gone up a size then I can only imagine it would hang off my boobs, which wasn't really the look I was going for. Lovely cut and material otherwise, though the v is very deep and showed quite a bit of bra on me. I might try it again in a later sale in a larger size as I think it would look lovely over a black top and tights/leggings but I was looking for a summer dress this time.

The Textured Cotton Poplin V-Neck Top didn't do what I wanted it to do for me. I'm top heavy so prefer more fitted tops, this had a lot of material. It would be lovely on a narrower shouldered frame I think.

The Side Pocket Garment Dyed Linen Trousers the caramel colour were fine but nothing exceptional and still quite expensive for what they are (imo) and given the current weather I can't see when I'll get a chance to wear them ...

I might just have another quick look now ...

MrsRadichio · 05/07/2024 13:02

Just coming on to share my irritation - I managed to order the neat indigo denim dress which has been OOS most of the sale...well I like it but the front seam does not match on either side of the buttons, which I know will annoy me. Now sold out in my size.

First world problems I know!
