I only bought 3 things in the sale and they were all unsuccessful so I decided to have a little trip to Llandeilo to take them back and maybe try on some new things.
One of the assistants said that there will be more new items on Thursday this week, which is nice because I'm not bowled over by anything at the moment.
The best news is that they have reinstated their sale department!

MrsRadichio · 25/06/2024 09:45

Hello! I managed to pounce on a size 14 indigo twill dress yesterday which briefly came back into stock. Also bought the lapis/oat tee and this tee Surprised these t-shirts are still in full stock.

I think that will be me done with the sale apart from possibly considering the cord wrap jumpsuit. Does anyone have this or tried it? I am quite drawn to it.

So far only the crinkle pinafore has arrived. While it was nice the neckline was a bit high for me so I returned it. Looked much better on @Countmeout !

Hope everyone is enjoying the hot weather today

Hi @MrsRadichio I've bought the striped top, it's really nice, medium is about a size 12.

Primrosespaw · 25/06/2024 15:51

Hi all. Lovey to read all of your sales stories. So helpful when buying online.
I had success with the navy Donegal, Japanese chore, navy cashmere cardigan and linen striped Alix’s. Very pleased with that. I am a bit fed up with how poorly colours seem to be represented on the website though. With the Cheltenham shop still closed I’ve little chance to properly check things out, so feel grateful for what does work. However I also purchased a second velvet throw where the colour is really out. I’ve given it to mum as she will be glad of it in winter. This often happens. Maybe it’s my screen.

ScottishMouse · 25/06/2024 16:06

@ToastCosILoveIt did you get your size 10 in the navy utility jacket yet? I am still swithering between the 10 and the 12. The 10 looks neater but the 12 fits more layers. I hate buying out of season, because I can never decide how I might wear something.

Poplinskirt · 25/06/2024 16:20

Good and bad with my orders.

Good
Dahlia print PJs and nightie , gorgeous
Gathered Neck Poplin Tank, perfect

Bad
Stripe double cotton PJs, reeked not sure what of but grim, awful fabric
The cotton short sleeve shirt with piping, lovely but huge
Neat sweater in Charcoal, dreadful looked like it had been worn

Returns done already
Also wearing my Space check shorts never wear shorts and DH just said
Ooh they look so nice on you 😊

Hi Scottish Mouse, no, it's arriving tomorrow. I'll update when it comes.

AFingerofFudge · 25/06/2024 16:43

A word of warning to you all! I returned one of my orders last week and the return was processed yesterday. However, out of the 6 items I sent back, they had only refunded one!! I was straight on the phone to them ready to email in my proof of posting with the weight on it when, rather alarmingly the customer services told me that all of the items had been scanned as coming back but for some unknown reason only one item had been refunded! Shock
She was rather blasé telling me they had problems with their refunds sometimes!

Bimblesalong · 25/06/2024 17:33

My lovely v neck poplin dress has arrived. It is snug over the bust but fits, the shoulders are a good fit and would have been massive if I'd sized up. Lovely fabric but a strange smell - is going to need a good steam/ press.

Superb customer service - I ordered from a shop as it was sold-out on line and had a lovely hand-written message enclosed from the person who sold it to me.

Looking forward to wafting round in it in the current heat.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 25/06/2024 18:28

@AFingerofFudge Thanks for that. I can’t believe they’re having trouble with sale refunds again, there must be something lacking in their systems.
I have a spreadsheet with my purchases and refunds on so I can keep a check.

AvaGardens · 25/06/2024 20:44

@poplinskirt I ordered the two colourways of the Dahlia print nighties, so pleased with them.

I've been wearing them around the house and in the garden this week in the heat as summer dresses! I can't go bra-less in public but if I throw a light cardigan or t-shirt on top I can at least answer the door or put the rubbish out!
Thanks @AFingerofFudge, will watch out for that.
Final sale buy arrived today, the green check cabin scarf that I spotted in @BettinaInDenmark basket.. beautiful, light, large and useful, good value at that price too.

PeonyBlush10 · 25/06/2024 23:23

@ScottishMouse @ToastCosILoveIt My Utility jacket size 10 arrived yesterday and I’m very happy with it. I sized down from my usual 12 and still have plenty of room. I think the 12 would have looked shapeless and even more so perhaps with thick layers stuffed underneath. I’ve decided I’d like a light/medium weight jumper or shirt/T under and enjoy it in Spring/Autumn with a more tailored look and wear a thicker jacket/coat during the colder months. I can still fit a 100% wool slightly chunky Crewe neck jumper under without distorting the shape. I like cinching it in at the waist - I didn’t think I’d suit it but it is a flattering and neat little jacket.

whinsome · 26/06/2024 09:33

There's been a bit of a restock. I managed to get the indigo twill dress in a size down so will see if that gapes any less.

ScottishMouse · 26/06/2024 10:46

@PeonyBlush10 thanks for your update on the utility jacket. I think you’re exactly right, and I have packed up my size 12 to go back as a result. The 10 looks better and it will work well in spring and autumn. Thanks.

ToastCosILoveIt · 26/06/2024 12:33

@PeonyBlush10 and @ScottishMouse , my 10 is due today before 2pm via Royal Mail…have high hopes now :)

OftenOrange · 26/06/2024 13:30

There are some great dresses in smaller sizes on Reworn , Bryn from recent season £58

My 10 utility jacket has arrived, so much better in terms of fit and shape so I am definitely sending the 12 back and keeping the 10. I can wear it unbuttoned with chunky jumpers and buttoned and pulled in with slimmer fitting tops. Thanks for the debate on this, very helpful x

PeonyBlush10 · 26/06/2024 15:21

@ToastCosILoveIt @ScottishMouse
Glad we’ve got our Utility jackets sorted. It does help to talk !

MrsRadichio · 26/06/2024 15:42

Glad the utility jacket debate is sorted and everyone happy!

Will start another debate now about the indigo twill utility dress - I’ve received the 12 which I thought may be too small (am toast 12 in old sizing) but I think it may be okay - no gaping but the elasticated waist feels on the tighter side. I suspect the 14, which I’ve also ordered may be comfy on the waist but too gapey otherwise. So will have a ponder. How are others finding the sizing on this one?

It’s a nice dress in terms of colour and fabric.

faustina · 26/06/2024 16:40

Could I ask about the v neck darkest olive dress in crinkle cotton? The reviews say it runs small so have ordered a small but I'd love to hear a review from someone on here . I've also ordered @AmethystMoonShine 's stripey tee - again, had to take a gamble on sizing and have ordered a small, but I dislike fitted tops so I'm wondering if I should have gone for a M

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 26/06/2024 16:50

@faustina I'm a busty 12 and ordered the olive crinkle dress in a M. I thought it was slightly smaller than the other Lydia type dresses, but that may be down to the material.
The M fitted me quite well but there wasn’t really room to get a tee underneath so I sent it back. I haven’t reordered so I don’t know how a bigger size would have fitted.

faustina · 26/06/2024 16:54

Thanks so much @Theteapotsbrokenspout . That's very helpful. I had a joelle? Years ago which was the one with short sleeves, and I seem to recall it was an 8 or xs, but it was big in places and a bit hobbly for walking so it didn't stay long in my wardrobe. I'm hoping for better things with this one

AmethystMoonShine · 26/06/2024 17:31

I’m a 12 top and have a medium @faustina I might guess a S would be good for you?

faustina · 26/06/2024 17:35

Thanks Amethyst. Fingers crossed!

Poplinskirt · 26/06/2024 18:23

I ordered the Olive v dress just before the sale and sent it back because it was too thick as a sleeveless dress and too snug for a tee underneath.
I didn't feel it draped as nicely as the jersey ones did.
They are lovely nighties indeed @Bimblesalong
