Great - thank you! Yes, if I keep it I’ll be hand washing it.

Snowyowl78 · 20/06/2024 11:38

@hicat i also have the Donegal grid jacket and haven’t washed it, I don’t plan to either if I can help it! The flecked cashmere sweaters are perfect, I have both! Which one did you get? I’ve noticed Toast have started saying on item description that wool doesn’t need to be washed!

ToastCosILoveIt · 20/06/2024 11:45

I've been back in too to order the compact organic utility jacket. I have the poplin version in tan (which is still shown as it's styled with the tie dye skirt, and I love that so much). I appreciate the cotton one will be more substantial. At £95, it felt like quite a bargain....that's what Toast prices do to you!

I also ordered some shorts and a tee for DH.

Seeing some jigsaw adverts on my Facebook, I realise one of the toast models does modelling work for them too - www.jigsaw-online.com/products/cotton-trim-detail-jacket-khaki

MrsRadichio · 20/06/2024 11:46

She is also on Brora and Plumo's website too :)

Hi @hicat - Nice haul. I've ordered the marmalade donegal as well but I've just looked through at its dry clean only. Boo. As you have another similar knit do you dry clean that, or is hand wash fine?

I have 3 donegal jumpers (in different colours!) and have handwashed them all a few times without any problem.

ScottishMouse · 20/06/2024 12:27

I actually do think that is a really good price for that jacket @ToastCosILoveIt. so much so that I just ordered it. I had tried it earlier in the season and thought it was great, but never bought it at the time.
My first sale order should be arriving today, I paid for next day delivery to get it before I go away. I’ll report back after my mammoth trying on session later.

ToastCosILoveIt · 20/06/2024 12:47

@ScottishMouse , I think you are right re the price, and it definitely fills a gap in my wardrobe for spring and summer, and even in winter with a Toast Donegal knit.

hicat · 20/06/2024 12:54

@Snowyowl78 i bought the grey one. It’s funny, the colours are exactly the same as those grey flecked wool diy blankets that I’ve always been into aesthetically hehe. I have a feeling a might loooove it.

AFingerofFudge · 20/06/2024 12:58

I also have 2 orders arriving today, another order I've placed coming tomorrow, and in the spirit of FOMO, I too have ordered the marmalade cardigan and chucked in the men's high v-neck cardigan Grin

Maybe we could have a marmalade meet up wearing our cardigans?

Snowyowl78 · 20/06/2024 13:13

@hicat its lovely, very wearable and comfy

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 20/06/2024 13:22

@ToastCosILoveIt How did you find the sizing on the utility jacket? I’ve ordered a 12, which is my normal toast size in tops. I read the reviews and it sounds a little oversized so I’m hoping it will fit over my chunky tank ok.

I only ordered it last night teapot. I ordered a 12 and I am very much a 12. I like things a bit roomy, plus room for knits under so hoping that will be a good fit for those purposes. I'll let you know when it arrives (which will be Saturday or Monday I think (no despatch yet).

Hahaha that sounds good. Maybe a toast workshop would be a good set up. I wonder if we’d worry them.

hicat · 20/06/2024 13:36

Has anyone ever read Brooklyn? All our sale excitement makes me feel like a 1950s character hearing about a sale at Bartocci’s. I wish…

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 20/06/2024 13:44

Thanks @ToastCosILoveIt I ordered yesterday as well, so I expect we’ll get them at the same time. I quite often order in 2 sizes during the sale but as I’d already given my cc a hammering I thought I had better ease up a bit Blush.

HolidayAtNight · 20/06/2024 13:59

The sale is now showing up for non-Kindred! It doesn't say sale anywhere yet, but the items have been reduced. I've managed to get the thing I wanted, although I noticed it's now not on the website despite still showing as available in my saved items. I hope it arrives!

lordloveadog · 20/06/2024 15:33

I made two perfectly sensible orders with nightie and cardies and socks and then caught FOMO and ordered the apron dress in both colours and a denim pinafore. I never wear pinafores.

Admittedly the first order did include that silly expensive green 'Space Dyed Hand Framed Sweater' but it has a good reduction and if the shape suits me it ought to be a treasure for years.

mizu · 20/06/2024 15:59

@lordloveadog that jumper does look amazing. I've been looking at it too but still not sure of the price.

ScottishMouse · 20/06/2024 16:28

Well that was the quickest mammoth trying on session ever. Considering my order was so big it came in two boxes, it’s a disappointment (but somehow not a massive surprise) that everything is going back apart from a pair of pyjamas and two pairs of socks.
Sizing is such a lottery. One dress in S was massive, another in L was too small, and everything in between.
One shirt in M pulled across the bust, another in XXS/xs could have fit another person inside with me. Honestly, it’s just frustrating and I’m over it.
Two Breton style tops were weirdly huge at the shoulders but tiny at the waist. And the lyocell striped top which would have looked great under pinafores was very small.
The lovely waxed jacket is lovely, but was very stiff and so stuck out too much at the arms & shoulders making me look massive.
And the ember cardigan was much more red and less brown than I imagined it would be.
The denim pinafore that I already have in slate would have been a keeper except that it has a small hole in the front. I may reorder, but I almost can’t be bothered.
So all in all, a complete fail. I should get the utility jacket tomorrow, and I am hoping that will stay.
Sorry to not list everything in detail.
Off to the post office I go. I would like to return to store, but I am rather embarrassed by the big boxes!

Snowyowl78 · 20/06/2024 17:32

Bad luck @ScottishMouse the boxes are more annoying to send back too!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 20/06/2024 18:09

That’s disappointing @ScottishMouse , which pyjamas did you keep? I’ve ordered the double cotton in sand, but I had to order L as M is oos.

Hopefully the utility jacket will be more successful.

whinsome · 20/06/2024 18:48

I've just tried on a non-sale item: the v-neck foliage print poplin dress. It is really gorgeous and very wafty but doesn't match my life style (rural NW coast). Would be perfect for those who live or spend a lot of time in warmer countries ... or maybe those who live in the SE ... or go to lots of opening nights...

Top is quite fitted. Lower half as I might've mentioned is wafty, but not full thanks to clever pleats. I would like to have the lifestyle to suit this dress, but sadly I don't. Looks very much as per website photos and video.

whinsome · 20/06/2024 18:50

Such a shame that so little worked out, @ScottishMouse Would really love them to sort out the sizing. I have the stripped top coming but took my normal size so sounds like that'll be too small. Bummer. Would've been useful.

Gonegrey31 · 20/06/2024 20:02

Scottishmouse if you are waiting for the vivid blue utility jacket I hope you like it as much as I do mine . Bought earlier in the season and it has been perfect in the cooler weather.

AvaGardens · 20/06/2024 22:48

My stripe poplin skirts and tent green cord dress arrive tomorrow.
Not terribly exciting but I already have the matching two stripe poplin shirts so I'm hoping for some clever minimalist wardrobe inspiration, utilising plain shirts, T shirts and the poplin shirts worn as jackets etc.
I saw the cord dress in the earlier in the year, worn as an open jacket and it looked fab.

@TosstTastic I lasted until this evening before taking another teeny, tiny little look 😅🤭

Odered the Indigo Cotton Twill Dress, the two Dahlia nightdress colourways (which I will wear as dresses on very warm days, as they aren't too flimsy) and the cabin check scarf in green after seeing it in @BettinaInDenmark lovely green themed bag, as it's my favourite colour too.
