Thanks for the early notice about the sale @Theteapotsbrokenspout

Went in once and ordered the items I'd been planning to buy when on sale: the donegal wool knitted jacket in marmalade and the Japanese denim chose jacket, plus a striped wool lyocell tee.

THEN went BACK in and bought a block print notebook, the alder check dress and the indigo cotton twill dress which were complete impulse buys but could be very useful and I love their notebooks.

I also have the v-neck foliage print poplin dress coming today because I couldn't resist!

I hope that everything apart from two jackets and notebook will be going back! ;)

@BettinaInDenmark I don't know why you're not kindred then if you spend that much. Is it because you're not in the UK?

Probably - I'm in Denmark.

TosstTastic · 19/06/2024 12:33

Sale dispatch already.
Looks very pretty and coordinated on the email.
Went for the ikat skirt purely on the review that it made her look like Barbara Hepworth.
I going to brace myself for the emotional turmoil that comes from split second decision making, dreamily optimistic, dawning realisation, returned pragmatic.

AvaGardens · 19/06/2024 12:44

@TosstTastic a brilliant description of the results of most of my sales attempts.
Just adding the regular trek to the local post office and the knowing nod over the counter.

Snowyowl78 · 19/06/2024 13:28

Lots of stuff I wanted isn’t in the sale. Mainly the embroidered silk mayfly shirt and also the patchwork green one. I also thought the brick fracaps might be in it, but maybe that’s one for September!

HolidayAtNight · 19/06/2024 14:58

I wonder when they're going to open the sale to non-Kindred? I'm sure it wasn't this long last time!

Countmeout · 19/06/2024 15:05

It does seem long @HolidayAtNight .

i think it’s poor people not in the UK can’t get access. I understand they won’t want to pay postage to places but you’d think somehpw they could give loyal customers abroad access.

I think a lot of things will wait until September or beyond @Snowyowl78 .

I have my dispatch emails.

I have also managed to buy the winter coat I wanted through chat. I found the code for it on my return label deep in my emails. Could not find it in the My orders section, began to wonder if I’d dreamt I had it.Anyhoo something will have to go back now. I can’t have everything.

I've had one despatch email, for the one thing I ordered yesterday (denim shirt), but not for the very early morning order this morning - three dresses and a jumper. I didn't order the dresses in the last sale (they're the crinkle ones) because I have stopped wearing dresses for some reason, so I have no idea really why I ordered them this time - madness!

I'm sorry you don't have the kindred thing @BettinaInDenmark - and if it's because of the postage then they should at least send you the odd discount code if you buy so much. It seems very unfair!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 19/06/2024 16:03

I've had despatch emails for everything I ordered yesterday apart from my late evening order.
I also had another quick look this lunchtime and ordered some pyjamas and a jacket. I really need to stop now until I decide what I'm going to keep or toast add some new bits to the sale.

Having said that, there are also some pieces from the last drop I want, so perhaps I should get it over in one fell swoop.

mizu · 19/06/2024 18:19

Just got a sale email!

Stravaig · 19/06/2024 18:26

Toast have just sent me an email highlighting full price items from the new collection, while there is a sale going on in the background which I still cannot access! The bleeping bleepity bleeps.

I got this too! Summarily deleted.

It's such colossal twattery on their part. They only want a specific customer profile these days.

BettinaInDenmark · 19/06/2024 18:45

What can I say? Ooooops... The sale finally came through here too

Totally agree. Its such an odd marketing strategy. Why would I buy into a company that doesn't value me as a new consumer? I see others buying and instead of making me excited about waiting for the general sale it has the opposite effect!

Countmeout · 19/06/2024 18:59

Glad you got a couple of things @BettinaInDenmark 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I hear you! Although I'm at the other end, customer for a quarter of a century, who spent the early years telling everyone about them, long before there were any Refer A Friend incentives for doing so.

RockaLock · 19/06/2024 19:23

hicat · 20/06/2024 07:44

I’ve enjoyed reading everyone’s purchases! I can’t remember who wrote about rewarding themselves for attending a st Bart’s appointment but I hear you on that! I do exactly the same. Good luck with the appointment.

totally dropped the ball and didn’t see the sale email till yesterday morning so who knows what I missed, but managed to get a nice wee pile of things to try! flecky cashmere sweater and donegal marmalade (which will need to be really good as I already have the Donegal grid stitch cardigan. And fracap ankle shoes. Had the patch pocket pleated skirt but it was OOS before I could pay. Of course now I’m convinced that I really want it. The button to email when back in stock seems to have disappeared so I’ll need to check after people might have returned!

whinsome · 20/06/2024 08:27

Hi @hicat - Nice haul. I've ordered the marmalade donegal as well but I've just looked through at its dry clean only. Boo. As you have another similar knit do you dry clean that, or is hand wash fine?

Brackenfield · 20/06/2024 09:08

Ive ordered the below but am only allowing myself to keep one of the jumpers/trousers if they all suit/fit as I'm not meant to be spending. Realistically the only thing I actually need in my wardrobe, is a cardigan, but wasn't tempted by any of the ones on sale, at least not still at £100+

MrsRadichio · 20/06/2024 09:13

Thank you for tagging me, always exciting to see that in the inbox and know it means the sale has started!

Having said that I have been circling around but not bought anything yet.

I'm interested in some khaki trousers, the indigo dress and the crinkle pinafore @Countmeout and some others have on here.

Like @faustina I haven't been wearing dresses so much recently.

Really keen to hear about all your purchases!

@ScottishMouse I forgot to thank you for the information about the Finisterre culottes. Haven't bought those yet either!

SwordBilledHummingbird · 20/06/2024 09:19

I finally had an email about the sale yesterday and bought a few bits plus a couple of non-sale items I'd been eyeing up.

hicat · 20/06/2024 10:24

@whinsome i must admit I’ve worn it loads but not yet thought of washing it! In my head it’s a jacket really rather than an ordinary knitted cardi. The wool strands are just so thick. I’d definitely be hand washing over dry cleaning! If I ever do that I’ll let you know how it goes.

this article says that despite labels, dry cleaning fluid can be caustic for wool fibres. Perhaps it’s a colour thing but I’ll risk it

Dry Cleaning Your Wool Sweaters? Don’t Bother.

You don’t always need to follow the directions on clothing labels. Here’s advice from laundry specialists on when you can skip dry cleaning.
