Depends on the postage settings you've set? Some offer an in shop printing, some don't need a printer at all

Foo2 · 04/11/2023 10:31

The buyer will purchase a label that will pop up in your inbox, that you click to download. There is usually the option for a digital download (bar code or QR code). You then take your parcel to whatever the drop off point is, and they print and attach ☺️

Doggymummar · 04/11/2023 10:31

You can usually print the label in the shop, depends how you set up the postal options.

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 10:32

I don’t remember choosing any settings.

Arghhh I need to stop doing this. I’m just trying to create a bit of room at home but everything I’ve tried just backfires. Is there any way I can cancel the sales?

Thanks @Foo2 and @Doggymummar - can you? I can’t see a printer in the shop

OP posts:
Doggymummar · 04/11/2023 10:36

What method did you choose? Inoisr and evri have printers in the shops here

Doggymummar · 04/11/2023 10:36

Inpost, sorry

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 10:37

I don’t remember choosing a method - they keep emailing me telling me my buyer is waiting as well which is stressing me out!

What method did the buyer choose for delivery?

Whataretheodds · 04/11/2023 10:38

If you don't post within a certain time frame the transaction will be cancelled but it's better to communicate with the buyer.

Postage setting will be default if you didn't set them. What's the issue?

You should receive a message like this in the app (and via email). They spell out the steps you need to take.

If the shop doesn't do labels and you don't have a printer is there someone who could kindly print for you? Or a print shop locally?

littlebirdieblu · 04/11/2023 10:38

You usually have a message saying buyer has purchased click here for postage link or similar

Doggymummar · 04/11/2023 10:38

You go to the thread, click on the buyers email, order the label and then print it in the shop

underneaththeash · 04/11/2023 10:38

Go to messages. Find the message where it was bought. It will say download label. Hopefully you chose a non-printed label!

evtheria · 04/11/2023 10:39

Firstly:
Check your vinted inbox. There will be a message along the lines of 'the buyer has bought you postage' and you click to see what method THEY have chosen. There will also be instructions for you, on what to do with the postage.
What does it say?

How long ago did they purchase?
Why don't you add a screenshot here showing the message you received when they purchased. And of your settings so we can see which postage options you had on at the time.

Thanks @Foo2 and @Doggymummar - can you? I can’t see a printer in the shop

If its evri, yodel or inpost, you take to your nearest drop off shop and when you download the label, choose digital label, and the staff at the shop will scan the code on your phone and print out the label. Some evri shops have a printer where you scan it yourself, but usually you take it up to the counter and they do it for you.

Go onto your settings and choose your shipping preferences and delete any that aren't suitable for you. I only have yodel selected on mine. Royal mail is a faff as you have to pay postage yourself first before getting the cost back.

Whataretheodds · 04/11/2023 10:40

Check your messages and emails - you should have something like this

And stop panicking! This is not a life or death situation!

Please don’t stress about it. You have five days to post the item (how long has it been since they purchased?)

other posts here offering help so just take it one step at a time and you will figure it out.

By default your profile probably allows all courier options but later on, if you want to, you can be o into your profile to ensure only certain options are available. The buyer pays for postage and selects their preferred courier (from the list of “allowed” options).

Some couriers have the option of “drop off lockers” or a store. If I were you I’d go to a store as they’re more likely to offer the label printing PLUS they should hopefully guide you through it and reassure you that it’s all good to send!

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 10:51

Thank you. I’ll have a read through but I stupidly thought it was easy and it really isn’t - what a system. Why can’t you just have the address? Ah well!

OP posts:
Whataretheodds · 04/11/2023 10:53

It really isn't difficult. Take another few deep breaths and check your emails.

Valhalla17 · 04/11/2023 10:55

It's really simple op. Not hard at all!

You go to the sold message in the app. Download the digital label/QR code. No printing required.
Package up the item and go to the inpost locker.
Scan the qr code/digital label, pop the package in the compartment that opens up...close the door.

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 10:55

I know but it’s the emails stressing me out! ‘Your buyer is waiting’. I feel like replying ‘fuck off!’ (Not really!)

I know I sound like a complete idiot but I get that I have an item of clothing the lady has bought and I have it packaged, I go to the shop with a label on my emails but then I don’t know what to do.

Ive messaged the buyer and apologised and explained I don’t really understand what to do.

OP posts:
Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 10:56

I’m sure it is simple @Valhalla17 but I really still don’t get it. I really wish I hadn’t stared this! Must remind myself that just because others find it simple doesn’t mean I wil.

(thanks for all being so nice with a fool!)

Summermeadowflowers · 04/11/2023 11:01

It’s that I’m really struggling with - I know people have explained clearly, but it’s just not going in.
