Hey everyone,

What's everyone's thoughts on vinted? I am absolutely loving it so far.

The clothes I've ordered are practically brand new, amazing condition and a fraction of the price.

It seems especially good for women's and children's clothes and honestly I'm a bit obsessed and need to stop buying really but I'm nearly finished for our holiday and it's mostly been from vinted!

I also feel like I'm saving the earth GrinGrin I know I'm not really but I'm really surprised about how good it is!

It's the best thing ever I buy and sell its amazing!!!!

TheBeesKnee · 10/08/2023 23:00

I love the app, it's very addictive and user friendly.

I've bought basically everything for the baby from there sans crib and pram.

I'm selling my own clothes but I haven't yet bought anything for myself - I am keeping an eye out though!

minipie · 10/08/2023 23:02

I love the idea of it. But not being able to try on and send back, if it doesn’t suit or fit, puts me off. So I’d only buy stuff I already know suits me - eg a duplicate of something I own already, or if I’ve been able to try the same item or a new season version on new.

RudsyFarmer · 10/08/2023 23:03

I’ve had hit and miss experiences but the hits have been very good so I’m satisfied.

VanCleefArpels · 10/08/2023 23:04

I really can’t see myself buying from a shop again (except maybe underwear, I do have limits!!). I always filter by BNWT. Best recent buy: Tommy Hilfiger suede ankle boots, in the box and unused for £35! I also sell a few bits for not very much but it makes me feel
good to be providing bargains to other people. It’s great for the planet, recycling in a very pure form.

I totally get that! I was sort of the same but with all the clothes I've bought they've been under a tenner so I just thought If they don't fit or whatever then it's not a big deal and I can possibly resell on vinted. Luckily everything I've got has been a win some how haha.

I agree it’s safer to stick with brands where you are certain of the sizing. Having said that I have managed to sell the few bits that haven’t worked for me for what I bought them for so nothing lost

Startyabastard · 10/08/2023 23:06

I've had some items come not as described and with stains/rips but almost all the things have been very good.

cherry2727 · 10/08/2023 23:09

The two items I've bought thus far were in quite good condition and bargain prices however the sizing wasn't and it's unfortunate that I can't return the items . I'm now stuck with two items I can never use so that's a bit of a shame!

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 10/08/2023 23:11

I absolutely love it. I have made occasional errors, but I don't spend a lot unless it's a brand whose sizing I know well. I don't mind charity shopping something that's only cost me a couple of quid.

Can you not re list them on vinted to try and recoup some of the cost?

I've definitely had a few misses but I still love it. I bought a dress on there a few months back, wore it out twice and figured that I wouldn't get much use out of it in the future so I sold it for slightly less than I paid for it. With postage I got a dress to wear twice for 4 quid.
I've sold around 150 worth on there in total which I'll be using for holiday spending. My holiday wardrobe top up has cost me around 25 quid.

TokyoSushi · 10/08/2023 23:14

I honestly absolutely love it, it's one of my guest things about 2023!

If I get a miss, I just relist it, I've also sold over 100 items!

MiMiPies · 10/08/2023 23:18

DH isn't loving it. I told him to have a look as were holiday shopping and he loves a bargain so thought he'd like it but he keeps complaining that the items he's saved are being sold and I had to explain it's not a reservation and if he likes something then he needs to buy it Grin

I fancied a dress online for a wedding but didn't want to fork out lots to wear it once. I only bloody found it on vinted for £4 BNWT! I'm a convert!

Juststopit · 10/08/2023 23:33

I got a brand new Schoffel gilet for £20. Retail is £160 ish. I’m chuffed 😁

Tanfastic · 10/08/2023 23:35

I probably love buying more than selling unfortunately Confused.

I bought nearly all my holiday clothes from there and got some fantastic. Bargains. I begrudge paying full price for anything now.

TheFormidableMrsC · 10/08/2023 23:48

I love it. Had a clear out this week and make £150 in a few days. It'll go on new school uniform but helps me immensely. I've also had some amazing bargains. Bought a beautiful Fossil leather bag last night. £8.50. Amazing!

I'm finding it easier to buy than sell.
I've had some great bargains but delivery is very slow. You can't really order something you need in a hurry. As a seller, I send the same day or next day but others are a lot slower.

When you send packages eg via Morrison's do you have to have I'd for the packages that matches your vinted name or can you use a cover name ?

Mrstwiddle · 11/08/2023 11:59

It's addictive. Pretty much all my clothes come from there now and I buy brands (Jigsaw, Hobbs, Jaeger) that I would never dream of paying full price for.

I would say it's 50/50 in terms of success rate. The only issue with selling them on is that even priced really low, things don't move quickly. With brands like the ones mentioned before I typically find it's better selling them on via ebay. Saying that, I still end up taking quite a bit to the charity shop.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 11/08/2023 12:22

I love it and have bought all my tops from there either BNWT or Very good used
Latest arrived today described as VGC but still had the plastic bit where the tag was!
£4 and still on website for £29.99( brakeburn)

Blossomandbee · 11/08/2023 12:29

I like it. I do find the protection fees along with postage bumps up the final price up quite a lot though and can nearly double the price of something cheap.
I've managed to sell things on it but only by practically giving stuff away. Most stuff, which was decent stuff, I listed for around a fiver and got inundated with offers for £2-£3 no one seemed willing to pay more.
