Is that a tear where the drawstring goes in? That’s not good at all. They do look ‘creased through wear’ rather than crumpled because they haven’t been folded well.

That’s very wrinkly, @faustina! I am not surprised you are annoyed. Let us know what Toast say in reply to your email.

I have only been buying Toast for about 18 months. My sister - a long time fan - always used to stress how beautifully the clothes would be packed and I thought the same at first.

Now items often seem to arrive scrumpled up. I get that they are busy in the sale, but you think they could manage a quick steam and fold! (And I say that as a non-ironer!)

Dee1224 · 03/07/2023 16:35

And, I agree - they look as if they’ve been worn!

faustina · 03/07/2023 16:37

@ilovecherries I'm not sure it's an actual tear, but the wadding (?) is pulled out.

faustina · 03/07/2023 16:38

@Dee1224 - that's what I told toast - thru don't just look badly folded, they look slept in!

Dee1224 · 03/07/2023 16:41

It’s really poor, and I have just seen the wadding! Are you returning?

faustina · 03/07/2023 17:06

@Dee1224 - yes of course! They're also huge and there's no 6 to try. I'm still trying to make up my mind about the cotton linen v neck tee which also came. I'll try it on again tomorrow and then return both - I think you can only return once from each order

Dee1224 · 03/07/2023 17:09

Yes- I get confused about the return etiquette @faustina ! I will be interested in your opinion of the linen tee as that is in my wishlist!

Architektin · 03/07/2023 17:13

@AmethystMoonShine Oh I was just complaining about overlocked seams creeping into Toast, and the demise of French seams, upthread a day or so ago! So I'm not the only one who's had several badly stitched items, this year.
Sad to hear that. I can't understand the change in quality.. unless the (relatively) new owners from Denmark are using different suppliers and we are just now seeing the changes coming through.

@faustina terribly disappointing for you, sale or no sale, you'd think they'd see/check what they're packing 😟

Do you thing anyone from Toast keeps an eye on these threads?!

faustina · 03/07/2023 17:15

I tried the xs last week and it was super fitted - not at all like the photo on toast. This is my re-order in a s and it fits ok. I'm just not 100% sure I like it enough. Scottish mouse has both colours and she loves them

faustina · 03/07/2023 17:19

@Architektin - even in the sale if I spend £95 I expect something unworn.

They do know about this thread. Someone used to come on from toast at one point but I think they gave up. I told them there seemed to have been a problem with both sizing and quality control for quite a few of us on the thread

ilovecherries · 03/07/2023 17:20

We are nearly full again! I’ll go start another shall I?

Cannot believe how fast this thread 🧵 has filled up!! Love reading everyone's chat about purchases. And returns!!

OP posts:
Architektin · 03/07/2023 17:24

Exactly. I've never seen anything delivered like that before.

I've already started to leave hefty quality criticisms in my reviews.. hopefully they'll start taking more notice.

OP posts:
Stravaig · 03/07/2023 17:25

@Architektin I wouldn't be too hopeful, I've been leaving robust feedback for about a decade now, and it just gets worse and worse.

ilovecherries · 03/07/2023 17:26

You can do multiple returns from the same order Faustina. Anything you’ve already returned is no longer an option, but you can select things you held onto and they generate a new return slip.

I wonder if the complaints about the time refunds were taking has meant things slip through?
Completely unacceptable @faustina and it really takes the joy out of it.
I don't think any other brand ordered online has sent things so badly creased as toast.
Even ordering John Lewis click and collect garments are pristine.

ilovecherries · 03/07/2023 17:28

Till we move to our new home. But for how long? Will this be a long or a short flit?
