Re crinkles..
There's always a few items in each new seasonal addition that push my boundaries, usually the more expensive artisan ones!

At 5' 4'' some of it wears me rather than me wearing it. I think I can't wear that or don't like it, but as the months go on I give it a go!

I suspect that they are going to really push boundaries, as their last marketing email I saw said something about playing with proportions .
🙄😅

I love the Bryn dress, I have 6, some duplicates that I got in sale and have dyed. I wear them as work uniforms!
But this new batch is sadly too bright for my soft autumn/scandi colouring.

What about the Bryan dress that was on sale? The sea green one…

Snowyowl78 · 03/07/2023 11:39

@Countmeout they do seem to have got a bit carried away. Took me ages to untie the strings too!
it is nice though, very thin, good for holidays. I think I’ll have to just send it back though as I got a final sale parcel today so I’m another £130 down.

ilovecherries · 03/07/2023 12:20

Look at these bloody shorts. Both a medium.

I had to buy a large in the navy. They are quite small made. Shocking difference in size!

dudsville · 03/07/2023 12:57

That's crazy cherries!

It's blowy and rainy here today so I'm enjoying this combo...

The navy fit me fine. Slightly too big but you don’t want your bum eating your shorts. That was Toasts recommended size. So on that basis I bought the chocolate too, paid for quick delivery to ensure they came before we go away and there must be 5 inches difference in the waist and hips and a couple in the legs. When I took them out of the envelope I actually thought they must have the wrong swing tag, but the actual garment label says medium as well. Totally fed up of endless returns on the basis of their crappy sizing. I don’t care if it’s vanity sizing (bloody hate that term!) but just make it consistent and then we’d know where we were. Can’t believe the amount of refunds I’m waiting for. Moan/whinge etc.

@ilovecherries i had that too- the brown pair are old so old sizing and the navy pair are the new sizing. I was wondering about swapping my navy M for a L but looks like they’ve gone now

ilovecherries · 03/07/2023 13:20

So now you think ‘did I get an aberrant pair and I should order another medium, or do I really need an xs in this colour’

I got the new crinkle jumpsuit today, I was a bit surprised because it arrived rolled up in a big knot and tied up with string! Seems like Toast have gone a bit off piste this season! I really like it but it’s very neat on the top bit. I need a Large. Not sure if it will work because the trouser bit is fine and the Large might be too baggy. Not sure about the crinkling though, looks very creased and not sure if I’m down with that!
I may reorder or wait for it to turn up in a future sale.

Hmm not sure about a crinkled jumpsuit.
To me a jumpsuit of that length should flow not crinkle.
I remember the Boden crinkle days and have got a white linen crinkle dress which I have stubbornly held on to.
It's perfect for holidays, very plain and just below the knee.
Quite pleased I still fit in it 15 years later.

I did a last order Blush
I have been going through my wardrobe as I have lost weight and checking what fits.
I've ordered the Canvas Utility workwear trousers in herb.
The Drawstring collar tunic dress in small and medium .I do wonder if this will be useful in Spring and autumn with tights, boots and a top layered underneath,I previously disregarded it due to the price.
I've also ordered the check cotton cashmere dress.
I love the fabric and I'm thinking of this as loungewear.
Will report back.
The conclusion of my wardrobe tidy is that I have a spectacular amount of dresses, most are toast, many unworn due to my previous weight.
It's now all tidy, fits and within reach and so my habits going forward must change 😅
In many ways its a relief and I will go back to my one in, one out policy.
I like the idea of one dress, one item of knitwear per collection.

Snowyowl78 · 03/07/2023 13:29

@ilovecherries i don’t think you got the dodgy pair because I already tried them at full price and so now I’ve tried 2 of the navy and they’re both small.

Dee1224 · 03/07/2023 14:09

Is that the Landscape @dudsville 🥲🥲🥲

It looks lovely and I am very jealous!

Mine has gone back. I have emailed Toast and I really hope they do not pass that faulty dress onto some other unsuspecting soul!

Love this look - mustard trench/dress/boots 😘

These are the 10. They are too big, aren’t they? I love them too!

I love the cotton cashmere dress. I bought it last season full price and I love it. I wear it with long black boots and a layer underneath in winter but it can easily be worn spring/late summer/early autumn with plimsolls and bare legs. It’s super versatile and I have had lots of compliments. I love the fabric so much I also bought the shirt (now sold out I think) which looks great with jeans or in another combo for a smarter look.

Architektin · 03/07/2023 14:52

@PretLea Yes, thank you, I managed to snag one of those. They travel well and after a wash soften up a lot more than on first handling. It is bright but toned down with the contrast colour.

@ilovecherries Gosh, that's quite a difference! Different suppliers possibly or maybe the prewash too hot!!

PretLea · 03/07/2023 14:56

Thanks @Architektin good to know. Hoping it comes available again at some point, or that style in other colour ways in future. Does look like a really flattering cut.

I think this is it. I think the navy ate the new sizing! Annoyingly inconsistent.

AmethystMoonShine · 03/07/2023 15:02

Just placed a cheeky order for socks. The navy Japanese ones I ordered last week have arrived and I really like them. I've ordered the green and also a pair of the Falke ones had come back into stock and I liked the olive ones of those I ordered at the start of the sale.
I've actually sent some socks back this sale which I think is a first, just too thin and didn't feel worth the money. Quite shocked at the quality/size discrepancy issues others are having. I never used to feel the need to scrutinise Toast for quality when it arrived but sadly think I'll need to be a bit less blasé on that front now. I've had a few poor seams over the past year, one on the collar of a needlecord dress which was just poor sewing and not enough fabric allowed and the other on one of the viscose east dresses - those start to look very tatty indeed on the reverse after a few washes. Oh how I miss French seams :(

AmethystMoonShine · 03/07/2023 15:03

I mean easy dresses, not east! Blush

dudsville · 03/07/2023 15:05

@ilovecherries ,i have those and i had to go down two sizes. They look ok in the pic where you're just standing, but it you can pull them that far put from your waist then they will slide off you at some point!

I’ve sent nearly everything back now. I’ve kept a maya dress and one pair of shorts, and a winter jumper. Nothing else has fitted. I’m usually a mainstream 12, and that’s the size Toast suggested, so I went down to 10 but I can still pull them up and down without undoing the buttons. The drawstring waist doesn’t seem functional in that it doesn’t tighten the waistband all round, it just gives a wee bit of leeway to scrunch it together at the front.

ilovecherries · 03/07/2023 15:19

Ha - and just like that, a restock! So I’ve ordered an 8 to compare. I love them.

OP posts:
dudsville · 03/07/2023 15:56

That's exactly how i found it cherries, and i don't know if you do this but i can walk towards my mirror and the multitude of fabric on the inner leg was ridiculous. They are lovely though, hope you like your 8. If they're available in the 6 you might try them too!

faustina · 03/07/2023 16:25

Well I've had another very annoying result from today's delivery. So much so that I've taken photos and emailed them to toast. I'm fairly sure the easy pleated poplin trousers they've sent me have not only been worn, but slept in ( from the look of them) by someone else. Look at the state of them!
