Those trousers look lovely on you @Stoic123 - definitely regretting sending them back last time!

That’s great. Thanks for your feedback. I’ll most probably keep it. I have the Peacoat in linen/cotton canvas and don’t mind that degree of crease and this shirt sounds similar on the crease severity scale ! I know what you mean about not wanting to wear linen on a dismal grey day, I feel similarly especially in these beautiful summery colours. I’m tempted by the pink too but it may wash me out but then I thought that about the buttery yellow too and it suits me. I shall give it some more thought. Anyone else thought the pink may wash them out and it didn’t ?

I think the pink does wash me out to a certain extent but I don't care🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm sallow skinned though and i summer have a more tanned complexion.
I love the muted colour.

dudsville · 01/07/2023 13:24

Cute @Stoic123 !

Snowyowl78 · 01/07/2023 13:41

Thanks @Trinitybean maybe I’ll play it safe and order a 12 and a 14

ilovecherries · 01/07/2023 13:42

I bought the blue trousers at the end of the last sale, also with intention of PJs but I wore them in the really hot weather and they were lovely with a brown tee.

My final damage is unknown - currently sitting at 3 pairs of linen shorts which were unplanned but reflect an unexpected week in Mallorca next week coupled with finding my much loved Hush shorts really hadn’t done well with three years in storage. I hadn’t realised how stained they’d got with sun cream. Anyway - practically a necessity! To go with them I got the striped linen top in cornflower and the poplin painted check (to go with the bitter choc shorts). All of these were unplanned holiday shopping but will hopefully last for some years.

The Rae jumper in Jade and random socks because - well - because.

Everything else went back but I’m waiting for the easy poplin trousers, the indigo stripe and the mariners all to come on Monday in a small/10. Ideally I’d hope to keep the poplin and one other pair.

I really want the Bleu de Chauffe suede bags to go in the sale but doesn’t seem like they’re going anywhere :(

Dee1224 · 01/07/2023 14:00

Still waiting for my parcel 🙃. In the meantime, I am entertaining myself by putting some remarkably random knickknacks on EBay 🤣

faustina · 01/07/2023 14:07

@Snowyowl78 - I'm also surprised the orange one wasn't included as I had my eye on it. I absolutely love the tobacco one I bought a few months ago

my easy poplin trousers and the v neck tee arrive on Monday and I am trying to sit on my hands for anything else until final reductions, but might be tempted if there's a return before then

Saurus72 · 01/07/2023 14:22

The trousers look lovely @Stoic123 , I’m going to copy your sales buy format, I love a checklist 😊

  • Camille bed linen - not on list but bought similar in last sale and so just mentioned to OH who sneakily ordered it 😎
  • Speaking of which, OH kept these Canvas carpenter trousers which are lovely £90
  • I had wanted a pair of cosy trousers for wfh in A/W and kept these linen/cotton herringbone ones. V pleased with them (despite/because of vegan commune vibe 😉) £95
  • I tried the Cotton hemp jacket in store months ago and loved it but wasn’t prepared to pay full price. V pleased to buy at £125
  • 3 pairs of cotton/cashmere socks £51 (😵‍💫). They’re so lovely they will be on my perpetual Toast sale wishlist
  • 2 x boat neck tees, one navy (which I stupidly didn’t try before removing label and is too short…) and one black ( bought in the last sale, worn and loved so I wanted a back up) £90
  • Not a sale purchase but in June, Selma slate dress £150

£600-ish total spend, not including bed linen. Shocking tbh, need to lie fallow for a while. They were mainly planned and wanted purchases, only mistake was navy boat neck tee.

So could we possibly expect further reductions?

faustina · 01/07/2023 15:14

I think they sometimes do a final reduction, but not on everything

neveradullmoment99 · 01/07/2023 15:20

They do reduce at the end but agree with@faustina, the stuff reduced is very limited.

Countmeout · 01/07/2023 15:23

I thought it said grim at first but appears to be gin.

Dee1224 · 01/07/2023 15:54

Is that the seasonal drink @Countmeout ?🤣

dudsville · 01/07/2023 15:55

Ha ha, did you make it for drinks at toast @Countmeout ?

I've ordered more things. I think i just have to accept this is who i am.

I agree about the socks@Saurus72 , i bought 5 pairs off the falke wool ones and am thrilled with them. I went up to look at my socks earlier to see what i had and discovered 2 toast pairs i do not remember purchasing!

Dee1224 · 01/07/2023 16:01

Parcel has landed.

The broad check top in Medium is huge - going back!

The broad check dress in Large, (ordered as the Medium was out of stock), fits me exactly the same as my sister’s M when I tried that on. It’s also shorter than hers, (and I actually liked it longer!)

The sizing is obviously inconsistent and yet again there are noticeable flaws on the front. I am reluctant to message Toast as I only did so last week about the sail stripe, (which I returned anyway).

Meanwhile, you could fit two of me in the Landscape dress that is apparently size Small! I still quite like it, but the neck is riding up when I sit, which is annoying.

I am going to ponder both dresses between now and Monday when the socks and tee arrive.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/07/2023 16:13

The landscape dress is big. Its meant to be oversized though.
As a 12, you maybe could have got away with the xs. I have it in a small I think.
Bought in the last sale in winter.
I also ordered the broad check vest top in medium. Agree, it is huge and I have returned it.
I have the dress from when it first came out. Its beautiful. I'm sure mine is a medium. I pulled out of my vacuum bags recently but have bought so many new items, ive not had a chance to wear it.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/07/2023 16:14

I also don't feel in the mood to wear light or bright colours when its so miserable outside.

Dee1224 · 01/07/2023 16:23

I have tried the landscape again. It looks lovely and I think it suits me. However, I am finding it really heavy and the stitching round the neck is really zigzaggy.

If the dress was comfortable, then I might overlook the bad stitching. As it is, I have decided to send everything back 🙃.

I agree re: dull weather and bright clothes @neveradullmoment99 - I suspect I would feel more positive about the yellow if it wasn’t grey and miserable here and blowing a gale🤣

neveradullmoment99 · 01/07/2023 16:26

I think the landscape dress is not really a summer dress though. I reached for it when it was quite warm and then put it back in my wardrobe! I think it would be nice in Autumn and the dropped waist lends itself to a jumper over the top.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/07/2023 16:26

I wore it in winter!

clowniform · 01/07/2023 16:27

Surprised by a parcel today of the striped knit tank in 3 sizes (surprised because it was posted separately/early from other stuff, not because sleep-shopping ahem) and it's going back in all options! Just a very strange fit. I suspect because the inset armhole ribbing detail (which was one of the major selling points for me) wasn't fully thought-out and leads to slightly uncomfortable bulk at the side underarm in all sizes. Also that rippling hemline which is evident in the modelled pictures was much more severe IRL and just made the whole thing look a bit droopy and tired on me.

So chiming in with other PP, for the last few years I've only had kitchenware and bedding from Toast. Do love my geo patchwork quilt from this sale though!

neveradullmoment99 · 01/07/2023 16:27

Really poor about the stitching. How on earth could they justify full price?

Dee1224 · 01/07/2023 16:32

I know, really shocking @neveradullmoment99 - it looks like something I would do after a grim🤣

Re: weight - the landscape would be lovely for winter, but it was literally too heavy for me in that it was uncomfortable. It sort of weighed down my neck at the front.

Stoic123 · 01/07/2023 17:07

@Countmeout -😂😂

@Saurus72 - I clearly like a list too. Yes, socks from Toast are a joy.
