It was on Instagram@Dee1224 and @dudsville . Sadly I am very far from a Toast shop, just as well I would never be out of it.

Stoic123 · 01/07/2023 17:07

@dudsville - love your fatalism.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 01/07/2023 18:58

My list - so far

Fracap hiker boots I tried these at full price but decided they were not actually suitable for hiking, but at sale price I decided they were worth having for everyday wear. I did have to buy them twice as the first pair was faulty.

Apron I bought this early in the sale as I thought it would sell out, annoyingly it didn’t and has been reduced further.

Rural Kind kneeler. I’ve wanted one for ages and it sold out quickly.

Brushstroke Jug. Now also sold out

Tulip hat. Didn’t fit and still horrendously expensive. Returned

Round Collar Stripe tee Didn’t suit me. Returned

4 pairs of hemp socks (2 in each colour)
2 pairs tie dye sock (1 in each colour)
1 pair of cable knit socks in grass

I'm also waiting for:
Linen Shorts in Copper I’ve ordered 2 sizes as I like my shorts quite loose.

Drawstring Collar tunic dress I reordered this as it’s been reduced further.

Check shirt Bit of a wildcard

Stoic123 · 01/07/2023 19:29

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - grass socks question please, as as I've been wavering about them all sales. What is the colour like in real life please?

ToastCosILoveIt · 01/07/2023 19:37

@Theteapotsbrokenspout , do you mind saying how the sizing is on the drawstring dress please? I have had the 10 and the 12 in my basket for a while now, I am a high street 12. Many thanks.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 01/07/2023 20:12

@Stoic123 The socks are a bit darker than they appear on the website, they are very thin though, I wouldn’t purchase them again.

@ToastCosILoveIt I’m a high street 12, but quite busty with narrow shoulders, I bought the drawstring collar dress in a medium and it was a good fit for me.

Stoic123 · 01/07/2023 20:22

Thanks @Theteapotsbrokenspout !

ToastCosILoveIt · 01/07/2023 21:40

Thank you @Theteapotsbrokenspout , I will stick with the medium.

dudsville · 01/07/2023 22:54

I can't do links, but this is what I've purchased, minus the firewood cord jacket, as i forgot it, and minus anything coming this week. 😳

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 01/07/2023 23:14

That looks like a really good haul @dudsville . Is that the Oar Check jumpsuit? Or the dress?

dudsville · 01/07/2023 23:34

It's the dress, and it's so much better irl than how the models wear it! I think so anyway. And a steal at £60 something.

And re the landscape talk upthread, i wore it last week, so not our hottest weather but still warm out, and i found it to be exceptionally comfy. That's the joy of cotton/linen, it can be made warmer or on its own it can be for warmer summer days.

Stoic123 · 01/07/2023 23:52

Lovely haul @dudsville . Favourite buy?

dudsville · 02/07/2023 00:01

That's too hard to say@Stoic123 . I adore the landscape dress. In my down time I've lived in the space check trousers with oversized emma, and the cashmere trousers for sleeping. Also the ticking dress was last weekend's outfit. And the plum check was perfect for work on the hotter day we had here. The disappointment is the frith dress because of the man made fibers.

What's your favourite of your purchases?

Stoic123 · 02/07/2023 00:11

I got the Plum Check in the last sale and I wear it a lot.

Mine is the Rae jumper in Truffle. The colour really suits me (I think you might suit similar colours from your rail) and it really filled a wardrobe gap. Suddenly have a load more complete outfits because of it.

Dee1224 · 02/07/2023 06:10

Hi,

@dudsville . What size did you get in the Oar check? I have been eying it up for a while.

Re:Landscape - I do really like it, despite the weight of the material and the riding up of the neck when I sit, but the poor stitching on the neck is very noticeable. How’s yours? I wonder if that is why mine was returned.

Favourite ever Toast sale purchase: My red floral pjs/nightie/gown combo. I somehow managed to rip the nightie last night - tried to mend it, but I have no skills, (or indeed matching thread), so it went…poorly 🙃

Stoic123 · 02/07/2023 07:12

@Dee1224 - are you near a shop to be able to use the Toast repair service?

Dee1224 · 02/07/2023 07:25

Hi @Stoic123 - nearest ones offering the service are in central London and I can’t get there under my own steam on public transport, (for various reasons 🙃). It would mean trying to persuade my dh to drive me - an absolute nightmare with traffic, etc.

Certainly going to think about it, though. My sister took stuff to be repaired at the Shoreditch shop and the repairers did a good job.

I don’t know what’s worse - that I ripped the nightie or tried to repair it in the middle of the night 🙃🤣

Stoic123 · 02/07/2023 07:34

@Dee1224 - you can take to any shop and they will send to one that offers the service so just to your nearest one will do.

I'm planning to see what they can do with an old Toast jumper that has some moth holes in the sleeve.

Dee1224 · 02/07/2023 07:50

I did not know that @Stoic123 - thanks! We can get to Richmond relatively easily by car, so will check it out. I might call them first.

Meanwhile , I have sent pics to Toast of the wonky stitching on the Landscape. I don’t know if I could put up with it, as it’s really noticeable, but I will see what they say. I do tend to wear scarves in winter, which would cover up the zigzagging round the neck. But I shouldn’t have to - even in the sale, it’s expensive!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/07/2023 08:03

Thanks @dudsville I thought the dress was a really good price and wondered why it hadn’t sold. It looks quite short on the model but on me it should be a good length, I might try it.

Architektin · 02/07/2023 08:20

@Dee1224 Hello, I've been buying Toast for 16 years and I'm a teeny disappointed this last year or so with the quality of finishing.. never thought I'd say that!
Three items purchased this year have had overlocked seams instead of the usual lovely French seams. I'm so sad to think that may be the way Toast goes forward, not much else on the HS that I like.

Laska2Meryls · 02/07/2023 08:28

@dudsville I have liked the look of the Oar check since it came out and now having seen your haul, and the final sale price , have ordered it.. I am blaming you for the enabling!!! Because as you know I was 'done'.

Laska2Meryls · 02/07/2023 08:28

Dress that is ..
