Here you go @Experiment627 Instructions for splinter removal.

Normally I’m the sunscreen smartarse, but I just want to know if any of you have any experience with powder sunscreen? I’m thinking of buying some for my hairline and parting for days when I can’t bear a hat.

Before you continue to YouTube

@MavisMcMinty when you got the last Hearst box. Red? What form did your digital magazine take? Did you get a code somewhere?

MavisMcMinty · 09/07/2023 16:26

Haven’t actually had anything except emails highlighting various articles which I occasionally click through and read. Have a feeling I’m supposed to download the Red app, which I never do, and also don’t remember having a username and password for Red. Not that I care, tbh, the subscription wasn’t why I bought the box.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 09/07/2023 20:18

I didn't either, I just think as it's now mine, I ought to have a quick look at least!

Here’s a really good Ultrasun deal for £32 on QVC - two face SPFs, a 200ml body SPF with tan accelerator (in the “tan” option, there’s also a slightly different “family” option) and 100mls of after sun.

I’ve been using Ultrasun for about 5 years now and it’s great. I can even take the face SPF all over my eyes without them streaming.

I might need to try this, I'm having such breakouts from sun screen at the moment. Not going to use the NUXE facial one on my face anymore as its far far too greasy and has made me spotty. I have a Nivea one to try next.

Worth a try! The deal price in the link is over now, but Ultrasun do a “today’s special value” about once a month through the summer.

MidnightMeltdown · 09/07/2023 23:27

This weeks empties:

45) Madura Eye Cream - meh, bit runny, wouldn't rp

46) Aurelia Eye and Lash Cleanser - fine, but would never pay the full retail price. I don't like the fact that it comes in a travel unfriendly glass bottle.

47) Antipodes Blessing Anti Pollution Serum - I've had this for years. It's more of an oil than a serum, so I only really use it in winter, but have made a special effort to get it used up!

Total for the year 47/130

Yes, just watched the splinter video, brilliant! Although most splinters are so tiny, you could possibly do it without cutting off the business end of the syringe?

Fraaahnces · 10/07/2023 10:19

It would be hard to visualize that the splinter was exactly under the hole if you don’t “circumcise” it. I think it also needs to be able to suck up a certain amount of skin for it to work. (Rather like squeezing a pimple, you need to work “underneath” the goop to effectively clear the pore.)

MavisMcMinty · 10/07/2023 10:27

Ah, thanks. I have quite a few syringes around the place, from the vet for my animals!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 10/07/2023 15:40

I really liked the lacura day cream, which surprised me, as I hated the smell of the serum.

The serum was lovely. Gorgeous scent. I don't know did it so anything special but I did enjoy it.

Signing up!

My latest shopping finds- Amika products.
So far I am really happy with each and every product purchased.

Ii was crazy about Charlotte Tilbury a while back;
now I think that you really need good skills when it comes to applying makeup using her products- everything is so shiny it can look cheap

Fancyateapottea · 10/07/2023 20:21

Just in case anyone is interested, Superdrug have 40% off their entire website for members. I’ve just brought some urban decay setting spray and eyeshadow primer and stocked up on loads of essential toiletries too

@Fancyateapottea good to know, thanks.

Fancyateapottea · 11/07/2023 09:45

It says it’s on till the 16th but it seems temperamental and I had to load the link a few times before it worked. It doesn’t show the discount until the basket stage. I’ll add the link and a screenshot of the email I got sent. Hope you manage to get it to work

Thanks @Fancyateapottea I could not get to work - I will keep trying!

I have a couple of empties to report:

  • Supergoop unseen sunscreen 40 SPF 15ml: think I may have reported this already. I got a surprising amount from this little tube - and I loved using it as goes on so well, no obvious smell. BUT after buying full size and wearing as a suntan lotion (as opposed to only daily sunscreen) I would say that it is hard to tell where applied and where not and may go some way to explaining current 🦞 situation on my body 🙈
  • Holika Holika aloe 99% soothing gel: really have no clue where this came from but have been applying liberally and it is ok. Leaves a bit of tackiness. Does not feel that soothing.

May be quite old so may have gone off.

Have anyone tried strivectin?
I am very tempted but worried at the same time as recently; it has become very aggressively promoted by influencers.

Reviews are great

Fraaahnces · 12/07/2023 11:07

@cactidream - what are your aims for Strivectin?

Experiment627 · 12/07/2023 20:25

I have an empty:

  • Aire de Sevilla Azahar shower gel: bought a set of shower gel, EDT and body cream last year in Spain. Adore this smell. Azahar is Spanish for orange blossom. Seville is my all time fave Spanish city. This is one of the nicest sets I know and I will no doubt buy the set again when next over.

My apologies if I already reported this - I thought tube was empty but then I cut in half and had loads more to use:

  • Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glow calming overnight mask: more like a rich cream but this has been a Godsend for when my skin has been unhappy, mainly cos of experimenting with other skincare products. Has a faint coconut smell. There is a soothinh cream in this range too which I prefer but both are great value & make my skin happy.

Wrinkles- especially lower face and neck ( neck especially- looks horrible, and nothing that I have tried is worked )
