My first day of No Buy July was easy! (worked a double shift and finished at 01:00am). The last day of June might have been a small splurge… I took advantage of the Kaja sale. These “Beauty Bentos” are fab for work and travel. I have found them to be equally as fab as Natasha Denona or Pat McGrath eyeshadows, but much easier to work with. They each contain a colour story of three eyeshadows that open like a book. If the sale is still on I am contemplating trying a face bento with highlight, blush and cream bronzer.

@CinnamonCoffee I was eying up that rose balm, but seem to have missed the good offers on their site and the Boots site, so will refrain for now, as I've bought the Hearst box... Bad Spongey.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 02/07/2023 08:59

@Fraaahnces I like the way those eyeshadows open! TBH now I am older, I generally don't wear eyeshadow, as trying a different colour in the crease makes no difference, and draws attention to my over 60 eyelids! Shame though, I likes a bit of eyeshadow on other people.

CinnamonCoffee · 02/07/2023 17:06

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants cult beauty have the Elemis balm and they are doing 20% discount right now. Works out about £36

CinnamonCoffee · 02/07/2023 17:10

Actually I lie! They have the yellow one but no rose! The yellow one has 20% discount though.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 02/07/2023 17:59

Thanks @CinnamonCoffee

QVC often have good Elemis deals or bundles or “Today’s Special Value” (TSVs). None at the moment but bookmark the page and check back every week or so.

Yes I love Elemis and QVC.

Some empties from me

Vichy Mineral 89 serum - HG for daytime so will RP
L'Oréal Age Perfect toner - HG so will RP when my stash of timers is run down. Perfect for removing the last bits of cleanser
Bayliss and Harding moisturizer - does the job as a body lotion and smells nice, have plenty other moisturizer in the stash so won't be RP any time soon
Wow Intensive Dead Sea day cream - a nice rich moisturizer for my dehydrated skin. There's no SPF in it so I used it as a night cream. Would RP but have plenty more face creams in my stash

Thanks @MavisMcMinty £28 at the moment, which sounds ok. I'll hold off for a little while, to try and work down my stash. I opened what I thought was a no 7 SPF today, only to find it's an exfoliating cleanser! So glad I]ve got new glasses! Grin

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 02/07/2023 18:41

@IndianSummer78 some nice empties there. I've ended up with quite a few night creams in my stash, that are actually day creams without spf. I'm suprised there's a much call for them tbh, and a few came via the Liberty advent calendar. IIRC The Seated Queen cream is without SPF and ended up as a night cream at Chez Spongey!

MavisMcMinty · 02/07/2023 18:44

Yes, that’s for 50g I think, “cheaper” (I know, I know) to get the 100g at £48, but neither is particularly cheap, I’ll let you know next time I see a good deal. I have a supersize 200g of the rose balm in my Elemis trunk! Tried the “Serenity” one last time there was a TSV choice of balm, but it’s almost exactly the same as the Original one, and the one I received had lots of gritty bits in it.

CinnamonCoffee · 02/07/2023 18:59

You might as well get the yellow 100g for a few quid extra.
They are both exactly the same just different scents.

CinnamonCoffee · 02/07/2023 19:04

It was mentioned on the Xmas thread I think last year but there's an app called Amazon shopping panel that rewards you £7 a month for uploading 10 receipts. It soon adds up and goes towards my beauty purchases
There was a waiting list when I joined but I only had to wait a few weeks.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 03/07/2023 06:33

That's interesting @cinnamon. Worth knowing. Thanks.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 03/07/2023 08:25

Re rose balm, thanks @everyone . I'm holding off at the moment, but now I know there is a rose variation, I'm pining for that one. I luffs a rose scent!

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants I normally love rose scented stuff but the found the Elemis balm one a bit overwhelming.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 03/07/2023 09:08

Two empties - hawthorn hand balm. This is lovely. It's a little greasy so is one for night time.

Hyaluronic acid - a staple for me.

@OchonAgusOchonOh that would have put me off, but my sense of smell isn't 100% since covid, so it will probs be ok for me! Fed up of having perfumes I can only smell for a short while on me.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 03/07/2023 10:23

That Hawthorn stuff looks interesting. Might wear it with cotton gloves. At night, obs.

Fraaahnces · 03/07/2023 10:31

@@Experiment627 I just realised that I didn’t answer your question re applicators. They’re unlikely to recycle any “medical” or “intimate” product. They would be destroyed. Meanwhile, they’re fab for removing splinters….

It's brilliant. I use the face balm too and love it. Lip balm is brilliant too. https://www.hawthornhandmadeskincare.com

That's a pain. I'm still getting spells if light headedness since covid a year ago. Haven't fainted yet but have come close a few times.

CamoFlamingo · 03/07/2023 11:01

I finally tried the Hada Labo cream. I was so excited but it's more like serum and I ended up putting moisturiser on top. I'll use it up as serum but wouldn't repurchase.

Fraaahnces · 03/07/2023 11:36

@CamoFlamingo - which one did you get?
