Oh, thanks Mavis. I love a bit of Gatineu. I think our local Debenhams used to do it. Will look into that one.

Because I can't sleep, I've been looking at the Trish McEvoy wallet system on Liberty for holding your make up in a file. This would of course be absolutely life changing. It seems that the palette {magnetic?} holds all your cannibalised powder blushers, face powder, eye shadow etc.

Anybody tried it or got any thoughts? I'm kind of hoping someone will say they thought it was a bit shiz on closer inspection!

Just had a look and it’s hard to tell from the Liberty page - they have three photographs but all 3 photos are the same and it doesn’t show a filled one, so it’s hard to see how it works, or if it only works for Trish McEvoy’s products. I’d stick with my makeup bag!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 28/06/2023 07:36

@mavis you need to scroll to see the filled one, but Liberty aren't the best with the photos showing the product IMHO.

MavisMcMinty · 28/06/2023 07:44

Yeah, just looked again and scrolled again but it’s still just three almost identical photos of an open empty wallet.

StarryNightAddict · 28/06/2023 07:59

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants dont waste your money on the ultra violette veil. It doesn’t blend, leaves streaks across your face and will CLING to any dry patches you have. If you didn’t know you had dry patches before, you will after you put this on. I was so disappointed as it wasn’t cheap.

Yeah, just looked again and scrolled again but it’s still just three almost identical photos of an open empty wallet.

…although I have just seen someone on the Liberty thread say the website isn’t working well atm.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 28/06/2023 13:25

@StarryNightAddict thanks for that. I'll save my BD Credit. Tis a shame though, seemed such a thing of beauty.

@MavisMcMinty I think you're maybe looking at the file itself, and I'm looking at the palette. This is what I can see. here

StarryNightAddict · 28/06/2023 13:29

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants i thought it was going to be the answer to all my sunscreen prayers. I also didn’t realise it was such a tiny bottle.

MavisMcMinty · 28/06/2023 13:34

Ah yes, thanks@SpongeBobJudgeyPants , looks good, although perhaps only useful for that particular brand? There was another brand upthread a page or two, sorry can’t remember the name, that does magnetic “build your own” eyeshadow palettes, which I thought was a great idea!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 28/06/2023 15:00

@MavisMcMinty it seems to me, though it doesn't say so, that you cannibalise your existing palettes and put them into that one. So as long as you can fit them into a makeup jigsaw should be fine? In my case, there may turn out to be an annoying gap, which nothing would fit into, and ruin the whole aesthetic...not that I've thought about this. At all. Grin

Babysharkdoodoodood · 28/06/2023 20:37

Tarte does nice magnetic cases for shadows and blushers

declutteringmymind · 28/06/2023 21:55

One empty!

Nioxin 5 conditioner 1 litre. It was ok. Not sure it made a difference as I've been on multivitamins too and eating so much better too.

Will replace with a purple mask I think and then change my purple shampoo to something that encourages growth.

1 purchase. Icon contour palette. It just made my face look dirty. Need something more glowy.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 28/06/2023 22:40

Thanks @babyshark

Fraaahnces · 28/06/2023 23:46

@MavisMcMinty Makeup Forever has magnetic tins that you can use to make your own palette. They’re not huge, but they’re sturdy. You can also buy magnetic palettes on Amazon. You may need to use magnetic tape or stickers under the pans.

MavisMcMinty · 29/06/2023 00:02

Thanks @Fraaahnces !

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 29/06/2023 10:32

@Fraaahnces it was me obsessing over palette, Mavis was just indulging me! Thanks for that info.

Fraaahnces · 29/06/2023 15:36

Sorry @SpongeBobJudgeyPants. Shift work is killing me atm. Too old. It’s melting my brain.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 29/06/2023 18:10

No worries @Fraaahnces have to say, I don't miss shifts. DH still does nights. Don't know how he copes, really. I was younger when I changed to 'normal' hours.

Experiment627 · 01/07/2023 09:22

One empty:

  • Pears original hand wash: meh. This smell is not nostalgic to me.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 01/07/2023 11:37

I quite like original pears soap. I appear to have slipped and bought the Hearst 74 beauty box. Who do I confess to? Grin

MavisMcMinty · 01/07/2023 12:52

You are absolved of all sin, @SpongeBobJudgeyPants . Go forth and purchase.

MidnightMeltdown · 01/07/2023 12:58

I'm still plodding through stuff slowly, but feeling virtuous as I haven't made any beauty purchases in the past 2 months. Not even a shampoo. Must be a record for me! Still have loads to get through though.

42) Sweed Mascara - I liked this. It didn't smudge down my face like most mascaras seem to and I liked the skinny brush (although I had a tendency to poke myself in the eye with it).

43) Resting Beach Face Sun Screen Serum - loved this. Definitely the best sun screen I've tried. Sinks in really easily, not at all greasy, and no white caste. Will definitely rp when I run out of spf.

44)) Herbivore Prism AHA BHA Mask - had no noticeable effect on my skin, wouldn't rp.

Total for the year 44/130

This seems like a good beauty box with two fancy pants perfumes!

My first day of no buy July went well, I stayed at home all day so I wasn’t tempted 🤣 I do have to go to the shops tomorrow, surely I won’t fail on day 2 though 😳

one empty: soap and glory breakfast smoothie body wash I bloody loved the smell of this, will be repurchasing when I work my way through my 62 other body washes.

Experiment627 · 01/07/2023 14:43

@StarryNightAddict 62? Wow! I am impressed
