That it is. Sympathies to you too.

I’m so sorry you haven’t shaken off that stupid virus @SpongeBobJudgeyPants. It’s amazing the wide demographic it has affected and in so many different and unpredictable ways. I had such a mild case when I had it and I have a genetic cardiac condition that was virtually asymptomatic prior to COVID and now I am on meds for it. (Will eventually need surgery, but not for years, I hope.) I can honestly say that I’ve been exhausted ever since.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 04/07/2023 05:05

Sorry to hear that @Fraaahnces . I try not to think about it too much, as our family came through relatively unscathed compared to many. Our best man nearly died at the beginning of covid. They came for him in hazchem type suits, and he was in the hospital locally for 3 days, and didn't know where they had put him. His wife was understandably terrified, and he has been left with lung damage. I worried a lot for DH, as his Bmi is over 40, which makes him higher risk.We got covid after the injections, so I wouldn't have fancied his chances had we both got covid earlier. Someone I know of whose husband died in hospital, on his own, with her not being allowed to visit is understandably extremely angry that Boris and his Mates were partying like nothing was going on. Compared to that I am very lucky. Anyhoo. Is there anything they can do to help you going forward @Fraaahnces ?

Some empties

sachajuan hair repair this was a freebie but I have no idea who would pay money for it. Did nothing and smells awful, really really strong and manly. It’s not cheap either.

body shop vanilla perfume oddly my most complimented perfume, I always get comments when I wear this and it’s probably the cheapest one I own. Will repurchase I guess. Think it’s only $20 or thereabouts.

Charlotte tilbury setting spray I really loved this at first but have since found some just as good cheaper alternatives.

I'm after some advice for lovers of earthy/woody/musk perfumes!
I am looking for a perfume that's is long lasting but also a little different from the high st brands. I tried vyrao witchy woo yesterday and though I loved the smell it just didn't last !!
atm I'm thinking of buying Byredo-Oud Immortal.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 05/07/2023 10:18

@CinnamonCoffee DH recently had the rum perfume from Liberty. Its in an oil roll on. Doesn't like. I love it. Very unisex, can't remember what all the notes are, not just rum obviously, I wouldn't want to smell like an old sailor!

Fraaahnces · 05/07/2023 11:09

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants we are very lucky in a way that we locked down so hard and fast here in Aus. We never had the numbers you did. We opened up only once a certain percentage of the population was vaccinated. I was working in a hospital and doing daily blood tests on quarantined and intubated patients and it was absolutely awful for them to be so frightened and lonely in their rooms. I think I got off Scott-free, really. (Apart from testing positive on my 50th birthday 😵‍💫). My cardiac health isn’t superb but I’m absolutely nowhere near death’s door. Having a previous history as an opera singer, my respiratory function is still excellent, but I get tired. I will need an aortic valve replacement eventually, but walk a lot (part of my job involves climbing LOTS of stairs) and I eat well, drink very little, don’t smoke, etc. Doing everything I can to remain healthy for as long as possible. I’m on very low-grade meds for someone with my genetic condition at my age too.

CinnamonCoffee · 05/07/2023 12:24

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants is that the malin and goetz? If so I have that one 🙀
Not used it yet though I had it in an advent calendar

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 05/07/2023 12:40

@Fraaahnces its tough isn't Flowers But, rewind.....operal singer?

@CinnamonCoffee Yes!

FiveShelties · 05/07/2023 12:46

@Fraaahnces wow, opera singer, you threw that in very casually 😄

MavisMcMinty · 05/07/2023 12:52

A friend of mine is friends with an opera singer, who was there once when I visited. We begged her to “give us a tune” so she sang an aria and I was blown away! It’s one thing hearing it on the stereo or in the auditorium, but I was sitting next to her and could FEEL the sound coming from her body, it was incredible. So you have my utmost respect, @Fraaahnces .

PomRuns · 05/07/2023 13:59

Oh wow I'd love to have a talent like singing.
I also love that rum perfume.

Talking about being healthy - I was just reading about Fiona Philips being diagnosed with dementia at 60. So scary, utterly awful - book the holidays ladies !

It’s a loooong time since I sang professionally. I had far too much performance anxiety to continue with that career. I did quite well, but the MH cost was too great. Much happier behind the scenes. (Also far too old to be hurling myself down the stairs in death scenes, etc.)

That is so amazing. Not the anxiety obviously, the professional singing😁

I was the one told to mime in school choirs so I'm dead jealous.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 05/07/2023 23:59

I'm glad you also like that perfume @pomruns I've been eying up the shower gel too!

Got the Hearst Box. Will the marine collagen knock 10 years off?! Loving the Tacha creme, with its dinky spoon!

Experiment627 · 06/07/2023 05:26

@CinnamonCoffee thanks for the top tip! I have joined the waitlist!

@Fraaahnces wow! Removing splinters eh? I will keep some for that purpose but will chuck the rest & try and get my GP to prescribe without applicators in the future!

@OchonAgusOchonOh, @SpongeBobJudgeyPants and @Fraaahnces really sorry to hear about long CV. FFS.

@Fraaahnces I totes admire you. You have done so much with your life & you take good care of you 💜

I really need to take better care of my body. I really to abuse it through food and not moving enough. And to top it all yesterday I managed to get sunburn 😭

No empties but currently in 🇪🇸 and have bought a Aldi Lacura shampoo and hair mask conditioner thing and both seem to be working really well. Proving my point that you do not need to spend the big bucks to look & feel good 🤩

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants sometimes there’s offers on the big size shower gel on the M&G website.
I’d love to get one but they are a bit ££ - I purchased some Molten Brown shower gel yesterday, 4 minis and a 330ml was £32 but I justified for holidays.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 06/07/2023 07:44

Thanks @PomRuns good to know.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 06/07/2023 17:54

I've had my Liberty Jet Set kit. Really good kit, will actually use everything.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 06/07/2023 17:58

@OchonAgusOchonOh thanks for posting that link btw.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 06/07/2023 18:23

Why didn't I see any of these products when I was nearby last year? Should've asked for tips on here before I went.
