Evening Royal style and beauty fans.
Into the Carolean era, with more bling we hope! Also more state banquets?

Here's Sophie in the Democratic republic of the Congo today.

I didn't realise Sophie was on a trip. Is this about women in war zones?

New photo of Harry and Meghan. Not sure about her stance or the style of the photo - they look a bit mismatched in expression, but she really suits red!!

Yes, she looks lovely there - I really like the red.

For a moment I thought Harry's jacket had one glittery silver sleeve! I guess that was taken at the recent One Young World event.

AdaColeman · 03/10/2022 21:47

Well, we know what Camilla is thinking in that photo..."I could absolutely murder a large gin."
Camilla's white gold and sapphire brooch has a huge central cabochon cut sapphire estimated at 35 carats, surrounded by four smaller stones also cabochon cut.

The cabochon cut dates back to the Middle Ages, and is used to display the intensity and depth of colour of the stones, there is no "sparkle" with this cut as there is with facet cut stones.
There is speculation that this brooch was part of the Queen Mother's personal collection, as recently Camilla has started to wear other items previously owned by the QM.

Charles is wearing Stewart Ancient Hunting tartan there I think. Now that Wills is Duke of Rothesay, we can look forward to seeing his knees enrobed in Rothesay tartan!

@chesterelly1 Excellent work! Full marks to you and your team!

MotherofPearl · 03/10/2022 21:50

In the second photo I'd say the King has just spotted the Pen of his Dreams!

I thought exactly the same!

meateatingveggie · 03/10/2022 21:55

The first pic I think KC is looking upwards thinking 'I bet you're glad you don't have to listen to this nonsense anymore'.

Oh I think Charles looks fabulous in a kilt. I always like seeing him in one.

I agree I think a kilt is very flattering on most men unless they have very skinny legs lol. I’m married to a Scotsman and my father is Scottish so I might be biased. 😊

In the second photo I'd say the King has just spotted the Pen of his Dreams!

And in the first one, he is wistfully reminiscing about the Best Pen Ever. He’s never getting away from the pen thing, is he… 😁

Meghan looks lovely in that colour. The picture as a whole is a bit odd, I think it’s just the juxtaposition of someone who knows how to strike a pose (Meghan) with someone who is just sort of standing there (Harry).

Sophie’s dress is pretty - nice colour on her.

SenecaFallsRedux · 03/10/2022 22:04

I think in that second photo Charles is thinking: "this king stuff is actually going to be fun." He looked so desolated the week of the funeral, but I think he is starting to come into his own, and I think his mother would be quite pleased.

667TheNeighbourOfTheBeast · 03/10/2022 22:09

“Charles is wearing Stewart Ancient Hunting tartan there I think. Now that Wills is Duke of Rothesay, we can look forward to seeing his knees enrobed in Rothesay tartan!”

@AdaColeman interestingly Charles was wearing Charles Edward Stuart tartan (also known as Bonnie Prince Charlie) to meet Nicola Sturgeon after the late Queen died. I wondered if this was deliberate?
I believe that tartan etiquette says that any Englishman can wear a kilt but only in Stuart tartan because the British royal family are descended from the Stuart kings. Unless of course you are English with a Scottish name then you have your own clan tartan.

AdaColeman · 03/10/2022 22:13

Yes, at the One World event in Manchester.
Megs does look good in red, but I'm not keen on the outfit itself, it's got too many droopy floaty things going on, with the scarf and the sash and the over long sleeves. She looks too wrapped up, almost swaddled in it.

Sophie seems to have hit the right balance there, between relaxed comfort and efficient practicality in a hot and humid climate.

meateatingveggie · 03/10/2022 22:23

Meghan very much suits her all red outfit.

MotherofPearl · 03/10/2022 23:17

Great brooch knowledge there as always @AdaColeman

Tassen · 03/10/2022 23:24

Apparently Daisy is sorry that she inadvertently caused any upset but she is sticking to her decision

QueryA · 03/10/2022 23:32

Thanks for the brooch info @AdaColeman . I was trying to figure out what one what one she might be wearing.

i like Sophie’s dress. The shape suits her better than some of the other styles she has worn.

Meghan is beautiful. The red is lovely. Is Harry still wearing a mourning black tie? Not sure of the overall photo though. Harry’s expression is a bit odd, and I know it shouldn’t bother me, but can they just not hold hands for once. Grin

CliffsofMohair · 03/10/2022 23:56

They look veryJoan Collins in Dynasty circa the 80s. Like Harry is the supporting actor.

justasking111 · 04/10/2022 00:05

Which is your favourite wedding dress?

Royal Style: Elizabeth may be gone, but her diamonds are forever
SenecaFallsRedux · 04/10/2022 00:07

My favorite wedding dress is not on there: Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones.

CliffsofMohair · 04/10/2022 00:08

Beatrice’s dress aka HMQ’s gown

AdaColeman · 04/10/2022 00:08

@QueryA That One World summit event took place on Monday 5th September, so it's just coincidence that Harry was wearing a black tie, he wasn't in mourning at that point.

Glad you liked the brooch info.

SenecaFallsRedux · 04/10/2022 00:10

Sarah's dress

My favorites from that selection are Meghan's and Eugenie's.
