Evening Royal style and beauty fans.
Into the Carolean era, with more bling we hope! Also more state banquets?

I do like Camilla’s feathery hat. I’m going to go and look at this House of B now… curious 🙂

RomainingCalm · 02/10/2022 20:45

I too love that country look on Camilla. And very pleased that the trusty boots are back, I've been far too invested in her poor feet in those shoes.

Every so often I have a look at the HoB website and particularly the capes. I then have to remind myself that a) I have nowhere to wear it and b) they would do nothing for me but I would rather like one.

I also like Kate's country-style hats, I forget the brand, but the same reasons above apply for not buying one.

NiqueNique · 02/10/2022 20:49

I absolutely adore a cape! And have a couple. Hopefully will add another to my wardrobe soon (will wait for next year’s sales). The hats that Kate wears, you’re probably thinking of Hicks and Brown. Also on my ‘someday’ wish list!

Tassen · 02/10/2022 21:11

@Eaumyword are you my sister? 😂
As my DM also uses the same expression 'looking very county'
I think it's something to do with the big farming & horse racing set in rural areas!

I wonder if Cam looks in the mirror & giggles "I'm the Queen" then shakes her head, snorts & thinks "how absolutely bonkers, who'd have thought"
Then giggles again obviously in a very self deprecating way.
I think I would 😂

I had a similar close encounter with Anne when we were staying in Newtonmore a few years back. She was there in connection with her support for equestrian programs for children with disabilities.

She must be very dedicated to that organisation, as she once visited the Riding for the Disabled Arena down the road from where we live (long before we moved there). There’s a plaque marking her visit. And this riding arena is tiny, in a small village!

RomainingCalm · 02/10/2022 21:40

@NiqueNique . Hicks and Brown... that's the one. Thank you.
It's this outfit that I was thinking of. I also liked the Roksanda coat.

Omg @Tassen! Twinning! 💕
I honestly thought my DM was alone in this!😂
Tell you who I blame - Penelope Keith in To the Manor Born!
I used to show ponies as a child and my DM got togged out in head to toe tweed for lead rein. She's basically never moved on from that outfit, apart from a Princess Diana tribute hair bouffant and power suit moment in the '80's...
I suspect you're right about Cams. I do like her!

I agree. I met a couple who had a child in the program she visited at Newtonmore. They said she was very interested, knowledgeable, and down to earth. They also spoke about how important the program had been to their child.

Spudlet · 02/10/2022 22:09

I’ve posted this before, but I used to work one of Anne’s charities. She would come to our conference each year and give the closing address, without notes, drawing on what the other speakers had said and often pulling some of her work with other charities in as well. She really knew her stuff and spoke very well indeed.

mikado1 · 02/10/2022 23:05

I rarely post but have definitely been influenced by these threads over the years! I made my first Brora purchase this evening, had never heard of them before these threads, and I'm considering getting a Camilla boot this winter... looks like they'd got lots of use!! Love those hats on Kate. She had one on in an outdoors video with the children.. preferred that to the one above withe feather, perhaps because she doesn't look 100% comfortable there , imo.

Serenster · 03/10/2022 08:10

I loved Kate’s amber coat and bright blue hat combo - such a gorgeous winter look!

I see we have an incoming state visit announced for November - South Africa is coming! There’ll be a state banquet!

NiqueNique · 03/10/2022 09:09

Yes @Serenster I loved it too! But I know what you mean @mikado1 - the other look/hat was much more what Kate feels properly comfortable in, I think.

NiqueNique · 03/10/2022 09:11

Ohhhh exciting! November’s not that far away...

chesterelly1 · 03/10/2022 12:54

Update on bootwatch from my on the scene reporter - black with a v shape at top and grey stitching. Not the old faithfuls but I think we've seen them before. Charles in kilt. Camilla fiddled with her bracelet while they were sitting.

MotherofPearl · 03/10/2022 13:01

Ooooh, thanks for the update @chesterelly1 - keep them coming!

Gooseysgirl · 03/10/2022 15:07

I would love to see Kate wear a tiara she has not worn before in Nov - she has plenty to choose from!!! I always feel a bit weird about her wearing Diana's old favourite Cambridge Lovers Knot tiara... I would like to see her forge her own identity as PoW, and I will always associate that tiara with Diana.

NiqueNique · 03/10/2022 15:11

Yes I agree. I think she should wear —my— the Vladimir Tiara with the emerald drops as they would just look gorgeous on her. However that’s very much one of HMQ’s tiaras as she wore it so often...we’ll have to see what Charles/Camilla decide to do, I guess!

Eaumyword · 03/10/2022 15:12

Brilliant that we have roving royal reporters out in the field @chesterelly1 reporting on what we really want to know about - Cam's comfy boots!

NiqueNique · 03/10/2022 15:13

Yes thank you for that @chesterelly1!

endlesscraziness · 03/10/2022 18:17

Loving Camilla's coat with brooch. Not sure on the sleeves and boots www.instagram.com/reel/CjQjE3LvcR5/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

SenecaFallsRedux · 03/10/2022 18:47

I see Camilla has my favorite handbag.

KillingMeDeftly · 03/10/2022 19:25

Charles never looks entirely at home in a kilt does he? He's very much a tailored suit man!

DisforDarkChocolate · 03/10/2022 19:55

Oh I think Charles looks fabulous in a kilt. I always like seeing him in one.

chesterelly1 · 03/10/2022 20:21

My friend has a video of them going in and Cams is tapping Charles on the shoulder. She said "what do you think she wanted to say" I said "slow down you know I've got a bloody broken toe and I left my best boots at Birkhall". I've attempted to link but I don't think it's going to let me

chesterelly1 · 03/10/2022 20:35

Couldn't post a video but I'm hoping these photos from our local news post. Both worthy of a caption competition
